The Scorched Hammer is the home of Riften's blacksmith, Balimund and his adopted son Asbjorn Fire-Tamer, who he has been training in smithing. If anything happens to Balimund, Asbjorn will take over running the shop. Otherwise, Asbjorn spends most of his time inside the Scorched Hammer.
It is located to the west of the main market place, between the canal below and the exit to the docks.

WalkthroughEdit
ExteriorEdit
To the right of the entrance, outside the building is a blacksmith's forge, tanning rack, workbench and grindstone. Balimund claims that his forge is unique because he fuels it with fire salts (although his supply is low). However, items created at his forge do not have any special properties. Balimund spends most of the day working at the forge, but does frequently take a lunch break inside his house, but also works quite late in the evening.
The Scorched HammerEdit
The first room you enter has a fireplace against the south wall, with a cooking pot in front and two chairs pulled up close to the fire. This is where Asbjorn Fire-Tamer spends most of his days, unless Balimund has died in which case he takes over the running of the forge and shop outside. To the left of the fireplace is a small square wooden table, which holds two seared slaughterfish, two portions of grilled leeks, a bottle of alto wine, a garlic bulb, a loaf of bread, an eidar cheese wedge and a note from Harrald stating that he's convinced everyone in the keep and guard to use Balimund's services for any blacksmithing required. There are two chairs at the table and hanging above from the ceiling are two garlic braids, three bunches of elves ear and a bunch of frost mirriam. In the southwest corner, to the right of the fireplace are three pieces of firewood.
The doorway to the west enters a corridor with a flight of stairs down to the cellar on the right and two doors one to the south and the other opposite to the north. The door to the south leads to Asbjorn Fire-Tamer's bedroom which consists of a single owned bed in the northeast, with an end table holding a copy of Killing - Before You're Killed beside it, a wall shelf holding a bottle of alto wine above and a wardrobe containing clothes against the west wall.
The door to the north opens into Balimund's bedroom and consists of a dresser holding an iron sword and an iron dagger right by the door, with a safe with a copy of the Smithing skill book The Armorer's Challenge on the floor between the safe and dresser and a leather strip on top of the safe. There is also a wall shelf above the dresser holding a bottle of wine and a bottle of Nord mead. Against the north wall is a tall wardrobe with a steel greatsword on top and around the corner against the east wall is an unowned single bed, with a chair beside it.
There is a food barrel by the top of the stairs down to the cellar. At the bottom of the stairs, on the left are several food barrels and a few bales of straw. Under the stairs is a pile of firewood. To the south is a doorway to a storage area with a grindstone in front of you and behind that two wall shelves holding fifteen iron ingots, four steel ingots and two silver ingots. To the right of these are a set of shelves holding two pieces of iron ore, four leather strips and three pieces of leather. Against the west wall, by the shelves is a tanning rack and in an alcove to the right is a long wooden table and chair. On the table is the business ledger, a bottle of wine, a cabbage, two leather strips and an apprentice-locked strongbox. To the east is a food storeroom containing two food barrels, a basket of potatoes and cabbages, a cupboard holding clutter and a set of shelves holding several potatoes, a cabbage, a couple of loaves of bread and several pieces of cheese. Hanging from the ceiling are two rabbits, a garlic braid, two bunches of elves ear and a bunch of frost mirriam.
