Salma

Salma is a Redguard bandit found at a small make-shift campsite just outside the entrance to Ironbind Barrow together with her adventuring partner, the Argonian Beem-Ja. Their plan is to loot the barrow of any treasures, but the pair is concerned that they will be unable to fight their way through the tomb's numerous undead and traps on their own.

Salma wears a set of steel plate armor, including matching pairs of gauntlets and boots. She is equipped with a leveled one-handed weapon and a leveled shield. She carries two random pieces of jewelry and a small amount of gold, along with a letter from her father.

Quest-Related EventsEdit

As you arrive at Ironbind Barrow, you will notice Beem-Ja and Salma at their campsite and overhear them argue about whether to enter the barrow.

Salma: "How can you just sit here and wait? We should be in there!"
Beem-Ja: "We must gather our strength. Who knows what's inside?"
Salma: "Treasure, that's what! Get off your scaly rump and let's go."
Beem-Ja: "Hush, Salma. We aren't alone."

Once you walk up to Salma, she'll tell you:

"We should be inside, loading up on treasure. Worry-scales here thinks we should wait, though. Don't get any ideas, either. We were here first."
"I don't care what Beem says. It's high time we get in there and find our fortune."
What do you expect to find inside?
"Gold, silver. Gems, maybe? Only one way to find out!"
I don't know about you, but I'm going in there.
"Not without us, you aren't! I'm sure there's enough for everyone, after all. Come on, Beem-Ja. We're going."

Her and Beem-Ja will then run into the barrow with you. If you attempt to talk to her while in the barrow, she will say:

"Let's clear the place out first. Then we'll gather our loot."
"Eyes open. Danger could be anywhere."
"This place is sure to make us rich!"

Her and Beem-Ja will navigate the ice caves near the entrance until you approach a tomb and a closed gate. Once you find the handle to open the gate, she will exclaim:

"That's done it! Let's get in there."

As you approach the hallway with a helmet on a pedestal, she will remark:

"Would you look at that!"

When she notices you looting, she might say:

"Hey now, don't take all the good stuff!"

As you get close to the final chamber, Beem-Ja will reveal suspicious knowledge about the barrow.

Beem-Ja: "This is it! Gathrik awaits us!"
Salma: "What are you on about? Let's just get the treasure here and go."

After Gathrik is defeated, Beem-Ja will reveal his true colors and attack you. Salma will be shocked:

"Beem! What are you doing?"

While fighting, she will plead:

"Beem! What are you doing? Stop it!"

Once Beem-Ja is killed, she will remark at the sight of his corpse:

"Oh, Beem..."

You may then converse with her about Beem-Ja:

"Father never trusted Beem. I always thought he was just being overprotective."

You then have two choices to respond with.

What will you do now?
"I don't know. Beem-Ja has looked after me since I was knee-high to him. I need to rest, and then I think I'm going back to High Rock."
Don't you want your treasure? Riches, and all that?
"Look, I never needed treasure. My father owns land; our family is wealthy. I just wanted adventure. Not this."

Either way, she'll end with:

"Go on without me. I think I need to be alone for a while."

She will then leave the barrow.

NotesEdit

  • 19 of Salma's 25 lines are also recorded in the FemaleCommander voicetype, suggesting she originally used this voice type. The line "I don't care what Beem says. It's high time we get in there and find our fortune." is slightly different in this recording; instead of "Beem", his full name "Beem-Ja", is said instead.

BugsEdit

  • Immediately after leaving the dungeon, Salma may disappear. ?
  • She may also disappear very shortly after you defeat Beem-Ja. ?
