The Knights of Order are one of the three Forces of Order, the other two being Priests of Order and Jyggalag.
The Knights serve under the command of the Daedric Prince of Order, Jyggalag, and are his soldiers in a massive and unyielding army. They are easily discernible, as they are made from a crystal armor that resembles the Obelisks from which they spawn. Their armor is leveled, at first its lower in rating than rusty iron armor, and ends in between dwarven and orcish armor. They are not (normally, see bugs section) capable of human speech and make metallic-sounding screeching noises when attacking or when they are hit.
The Knights are first encountered during the main quest Baiting the Trap as you are leaving Xedilian and disappear from the Shivering Isles after the Main Quest is completed. Most Knights appear 4 levels below the player character, but some are as low as 8, whereas others are as high as 3 levels above the player. All Knights of Order use Order Swords (first about equal to fine iron, and ends in between ebony and daedric quality), and may carry Hearts of Order. Knights of Order also have natural resistances to Magic (between 15 and 45%, but most about 20%), and Poison (50%). A few particular Knights also possess the ability to fire major or minor ranged Elemental Damage spells.
Only the swords are always strongest for the Knight's skill level, the armor and spells are all random so not per se strongest for the Knight's (skill) level. Despite their appearance Knights of Order are not creatures but are in fact NPCs, so a Black Soul Gem is required to store their souls.
NotesEdit
- Technically, the Knights are actually Imperials and Altmer wearing a set of full-body armor flagged as unplayable.
- A playable test version of their armor can be found in the

test cells. The armor can also be obtained by typingplayer.additem 0004DBF5 <qty>
into the console. The test armor is lower in quality than all of the unplayable sets.
- A playable test version of their armor can be found in the
- All Knights of Order have a unique Bound Armor spell, but it does not reference any items and so does not actually function.
BugsEdit
- Knights of Order continue to spawn indefinitely in Brellach and Pinnacle Rock after the Main Quest, even though all Forces of Order are supposed to leave the Shivering Isles.
- The Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, version 1.1.0, fixes this bug.
- Friendly or passive Knights can be engaged with in conversation and use Priest of Order greetings instead of their inhuman screeching sounds.
- The Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, version 1.5.8, fixes this bug.
- According to the Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, Knights of Order carry the more powerful Primal Order Swords at levels 6-8, but the less powerful Simple Order Swords at levels 9-11, instead of the reverse, due to a leveled list error
- The Unofficial Shivering Isles Patch, version 1.5.0, fixes this bug.
