Volanil is a High Elf Drillmaster found observing the fight pit of the Sailor's Fluke, a drinking den in Anvil.
Volanil recently spent a night drinking with Kalin Thurion, and the latter blames this event on him having turned into a vampire. Volanil, while admitting to being a vampire himself, states that he would never convert somebody that he enjoyed time with - and will suggest that Kalin is simply ill and needs a healer instead. If asked, he describes vampirism as a pretty miserable condition:
"Why would I be turning other people into vampires if I know everything that expects them in life after that is suffering and disappointment? I was excited at the prospect once, but look at me now, drinking with ungrateful strangers at a rat fight pit."
