Bug with PTS Update 29 Destruction Staff Weapon Skills Disappearing...
Browser/Platform: Microsoft Edge Version 88.0.705.56 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro Version 1909 OS Build 18363.1316
Steps to reproduce: Create a build with Destruction Staff weapon skills in the skill bar. Save the build. Reload the build editor page or otherwise close and then re-open the build.
Expected Result: Skills should remain in place on the skill bar, and should reflect the type of destruction staff (element) that is in the equipment section for that skill bar.
Actual Result: Skills remain trained, but are removed from the skill bar and even when added to the skill bar do not reflect the element type of the equipped staff.
Additional Notes: If memory serves, this was also an issue during the PTS updating period for Greymoor, so whatever was the cause of that issue may have been re-introduced (just one possibility). I have not tried this with other weapon types and skills besides the Destruction Staff so I am not aware of whether or not the bug applies to other weapon types.

Engulfing Flames
The percent flame damage bonus from Engulfing Flames stop scaling upwards at 8%. No matter how much spell damage I add to the build through various sources, it stops at 8%

Build Editor feedback
Well let me start off by saying, I seem to have found myself unable to delete or permanently change images for eso build pages. I dont know when this issue started originally, and it isnt that important obviously, but I thought yall should know about it.
Now, something that I'd like to say is while I appreciate the cp changes being done so soon, I'd also like to see some structural changes to how the cp tree's are presented to the user. For instance, Resiliance should be underneath Quick recovery and indented, since it is needed in order to take Resiliance. Same can be said for all the other passives that have a "master" cp that is needed before your able to get the "child" passive. In addition to making passives easier to find at a glance, it'd also make things look neater, and improve the overall presentation.

(PTS 6.3) weapons not affecting damage modifier
Hi, Want to say as always I love this site and appreciate the work you guys do. It is an incredible tool! As above, regardless of whether I use mace, sword, axe or dagger the damage modifiers to the right are not affected. Update 29 v6.3.0 - Light armor stealth speed increase per piece not applied.
Light armor should increase speed in stealth by 5% per piece. Unsure of the mechanics, it says "Increases Movement Speed while Sneaking by 5%". New CP trees
Things look great thanks !
So many of us who use the site for builds dont know what will be passive and what will be a selectable "star". I do see the toggles on the left, you can select 4, but not every line has a toggle so do we assume those are passives?
Solution: Perhaps add more narrative on the CP page that tells the user how the lines roll up, or dont. The new CP system is confusing even for vet players. Many of us are not on the PTS.

Twin Blade and Blunt
- Hello,
I was researching Twin Blade and Blunt for dual daggers. It states that “each dagger increases your weapon critical rating” then shows your current bonus. I have double daggers equipped and on console it is giving 2190 crit increase. This results in a total of 61% crit on console. On UESP build editor I believe the 2190 crit for Twin Blade and Blunt is being doubled with dual daggers. On website it shows me having 71%. Lava Foot Soup-And-Soultrice
Hi, Have to say how much I love this build editor, it's amazing. Thank you. I wanted to point out something with the food Lava Foot Soup-And-Soultrice It appears to be giving 751 Stam Regen instead of 493 as it should. Maybe I'm wrong, but I thought I should let you know. - It looks like it's giving the correct amount when I tested it. If you click the "..." next to the food slot it should show you exactly what stats it gives. If it shows you other than 493 please link the build so I can take a look. -- Daveh (talk) 15:21, 10 February 2021 (UTC)

- Both of those show 493 for me....I'm guessing you may be using an older version of the JavaScript file for some reason. Can you try a full page reload (Ctrl+F5 in Chrome/Edge, Shift+F5 in FF) and see if that works or not. Alternatively, clear the cache for the uesp.net domain. - I've worked it out. My apologies. I wasn't aware that Racial Passives to regen were added as food bonuses. I just created a new Khajiti NB and tested it, and now I can see where the extra regen is coming from. I knew I would have missed something. Altmer Warden, Lightning staff Mother's Sorrow, Mad Tinkerer Inferno Staff - wrong stats
Altmer Warden Level 50/CP160: according to the editor I should have only 10696 health and 24125 magicka but although I chose the correct armor and items I have 29134 magicka and 13211 health in the game. Staffs: again everything is set correctly but here the staffs show 2717 magic damage and restores 1119 health (461 magicka for mad tinkerers). In the game it shows 3136 damage (restore amount is correct).
I did not enter den CP in the editor which might be the reason for the damage difference. But there is nothing in the CP system affecting health and magicka basics. Gerald s (talk) 18:34, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Bastion not working
after maxing out Bastion CP node and enabling it, there is no change in calculated shield strength in overview section or in tooltips.
CORRECTION: this feature seems to be working, I saw that it has to also be enabled at the bottom of the screen. sorry.

Maul removes attacker resists completely, inflating Effective Weapon Power
when you equip a 2h mace (maul) Skill2.PhysicalPenetration becomes 20000% not 20%, so Attacker Physical Mitigation becomes 0 and Effective Weapon Power becomes much higher than with other 2h weapons.
Update 29 v6.3.0 - Wrathful strikes CP weapon & spell damage not applying to light and heavy attacks (damaging abilities).

Piercing, Preparation, and Backstabber not updating properly
Putting any amount of CP into Piercing results in 0 additional penetration, and Preparation stays at 0% damage reduction even when CP are invested and the corresponding box is ticked to enable the effect. Investing in Backstabber updates its tooltip, but the 15% crit damage doesn't apply when its box is checked. [ETA Backstabber] Virtus753 (talk) 05:46, 14 February 2021 (UTC)

- The issue I'm seeing with Piercing is that I can put 40 CP in Piercing, and it will register 1400 pen and include that in the overall stat list on the right side -- until I save and reload. Once I do that, the 40 CP stays in Piercing but the effective penetration is given as 0 for that tooltip. It only updates the effective penetration to 1400 when I click + or -. Then saving and reloading resets Piercing to 0 effective penetration again. I just tested it again, and it's still the case. Do I need to clear cookies/history? Thank you for your help! Health Recovery is calcutated incorrectly for the vampire stage penalty
In-game I noticed my new build was missing half of the health recovery shown on the editor. The issue is that the build editor calculates all recoveries additively. For example, If I take a -20% debuff then a +20% health recovery buff will effectively leave me at my baseline rate. However, current vamp penalties are taken off the top and are not a part of the usual push/pull nature of stats. A stage 4 vamp (-100% health recovery) will always be at 0 health recovery no matter how many buffs are used (Their new recovery baseline will be 0). AceSiN (talk) 08:25, 19 February 2021 (UTC)AcesiN

Armor
Light Armor
- Fixed an issue where the Light Armor Bonuses tooltip incorrectly worded its bonus to Movement Speed in Sneak. It now properly states that it reduces the Movement Speed penalty of Sneak.
Medium Armor
- Fixed an issue where the Area Effect damage reduction was returning as 200% rather than 200% of your armor pieces worn (up to 14% total). Oops.
Heavy Armor
- Reduced the Damage Reduction granted while immune to Crowd Control to 1% per piece, down from 2%.
Champion System
Adjusted the Champion Point XP curve to speed up the rate you gain CP levels up to 1800 instead of 1020. This was done to help alleviate some of the concerns with the time required to chase the current vertical progression cap.
- Note this doesn’t mean we will not make further adjustments to the vertical progression in a future update; we will be closely monitoring this through Update 29’s launch.
In efforts to make the Craft tree more accessible to lower level Champion Point characters, we’ve adjusted the cost per stage of stars, as well as the power level of some stars:
- Fleet Phantom and Out of Sight have been swapped, as there are alternative methods of reducing or negating the Movement Speed penalty of Sneak, potentially making this star grant you nothing if you went for Out of Sight.
- Infamous now increases fencing prices by 25%, up from 15% to help sweeten the deal.
- Homemaker now costs a total of 25 points, down from 75.
- Soul Reservoir is now a passive star rather than a slotted star, and costs a total of 33 points, down from 100, to help make this star more attractive for players who don’t hoard Soul Gems like necromantic overlords.
- Reel Technique now costs a total of 50 points, down from 100, to help access stars near it less difficult.
- Plentiful Harvest now costs 10 points per stage, down from 20, and reduced the chance of activating to 10% per stage, down from 20%. This was done to decrease the efficiency of the star, while also making it easier to access.
- Meticulous Disassembly, Fade Away, and Treasure Hunter now cost 50 points, down from 100, to help equalize the point expenditure of each path to the head of the Thief.
- Wanderer now costs 15 points per stage, down from 20, to help progress up the tree easier.
- Steadfast Enchantment now costs 10 points per stage, down from 20, to help progress up the tree easier.
Offensive Penetration not count

Spirit Mastery CP adding time to resurrect speed

cp in old build editor not working properly

Champion points

CP - Data entry tables

PTS build - Child Node CP's in Extended Might being counted twice

CP 2.0 Warfare - Extended Might and Staving Death - central stars have no tooltip
With the PTS CP 2.0 rework (which is looking great so far... thank you for all the hard work on that), in the Warfare tree, the central stars for initial unlock under the secondary constellations of Extended Might and Staving Death are not currently displaying any tooltip. This includes the main link stars in the primary constellation as well as the initial/central stars within the secondary constellations themselves. I don't recall the actual star names, so I hope my description of which ones they are is clear.
This is on Windows 10 Pro, using MS Edge.
All other tooltips seem to be working perfectly well. I'm not 100% sure I looked at all of them, but I know I've looked at at least 90% or so, and the only ones that are not displaying a tooltip (that I've seen) are the 4 mentioned.

Dragonguard Elite missing stacks

ESO Build Editor stays on Dragonknight class skills even when I change to templar
I tried making a templar build but the build editor continued showing Dragonknight skill lines in skills tab despite I had chosen templar.

Clarification of 'base penetration'
Why do I hear that characters have a base penetration of 100. Is that old info? A effect of rounding? I notice the calculator doesnt take it into effect. -- Neugeniko (talk) 14:29, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- There used to be a base Spell/Physical penetration of 100...as in you would start with that at 100 instead of 0. I don't exactly remember when but some recent update removed that base 100 value which is why it isn't in the build editor. You can actually check your Penetration by using the chat commands:

Infused Crusher on Torug's pact set has wrong values

Problems with saving builds, error.

- This happened to me the other week. Signing out, deleting all cookies from UESP, and signing back in fixed it for me. Seventh Legion set bonuses not appearing.

Concealed Weapon skill appears to add 25% stealth speed rather than be a 1.25 multiplier

Battle Spirit - healing recieved debuff

Battle Spirit on Live states -50% healing taken, not -55%. Also dmg reduction is 44% not 50%.
CP system

More about Concealed weapon. Speed in stealth.
It(concealed weapon) seems to be a multiplier below 100% stealth speed, so 60%*25%, 15% added, when stealth speed is below 100%. And is a flat 25% addition above or at 100% stealth speed.
Movement speed buffs seem to work similar. For example bosmer movement speed(5%) seems to add 60%*5% to stealth speed. A strait addition at and above 100% speed. Same with Steeds blessing CP skill.
Light armor stealth penalty mitigation works the same but on the remaining speed to 100%, 40%*5% added per piece, below 100% stealth.
Build Editor not working
Hi,
the Editor shows me in the set tab following error: unknown item #id. Also i cant search for sets. Reloading the page doenst work. I used Chrome but in Edge is the same error.Wzmx1 (talk) 18:23, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
- You may have got unlucky and loaded during a code update (I've done several today). Try a full page reload with Shift or Ctrl + F5 and see if that works or not. If that doesn't work please link the build in question so I can take a look. -- Daveh (talk) 18:55, 9 March 2021 (UTC)
Prior to Update 29
Hello,
I was wondering if there was anyway to see my save builds prior to the new update. I am on console and would like to do a side by side comparison to better allocate my cp. Since this websites build editor has been updated I am unable to see my past cp. This sites build editor is the best I’ve seen. I have used it so many times to edit and tweet my builds. - If you click the "View My Builds" at the top it should list all the builds you've saved with your logged in wiki account. Click on one of those and it should show a summary of the build like this. This "should" be able to display all the skills and CP when you saved the build, including the old CP system. Stalking Blastbones damage is being buffed by Inferno Staves on editor when it should be buffed by Lightning Staves

Mixed quality set gears have set bonuses incorrectly shown when hovered

- It should be working now. Check the "Raw Data" section for categories like "Flame Spell Damage" (replace flame for other damage types and spell for weapon). - Logoff and deleting cookies did not work on my pc. Saving or creating a new build on my android phone (chrome) works just fine. A normal tab even with all extensions deactivated won't save any changes done and ends up with an error. Well fitted trait of armor changes max magicka value

Problem with divine trait calculations.
Setting divine trait on shoulders means the shoulder enchant is not used.
Reproduction steps. 1. Create new build. 2. Select crit/theif mundus. 3. Add shoulder item. 4. Add shoulder enchant. 5. Select divine trait. 6. Note divine trait is in effect but shoulder enchant is not. 7. Toggle to a different trait and note shoulder enchant is now in effect.
The previous message in this chat has a similar problem so the cause may be some common code that effects other slots too.
Please add more Armor Types under Quick Item Setups
Given that the way armor passives had been changed in the new update, I would appreciate if more Armor Types configs are added under Quick Item Setups. For example, 4+3, 3+3+1, 4+2+1 etc. Also, instead of all possible combination under on dropdown I think it will be more user friendly if 3 drop downs for 3 armor types are provided (something similar to attributes setting).--Cvan (talk) 09:10, 16 March 2021 (UTC)

- Thanks a lot for taking this up. I see that you have made the change under Quick Item Setups > Equip Set > Types. I was actually suggesting to add this under Armor Types dropdown which is directly under Quick Item Setups. 4+3 with 4 heavy 3 light and vice versa will start to become common because of the armor bonus and penalties in new update. With 4+3 setup one would be able to offset most of the penalties of the other. I am now thinking how to quickly change this without cluttering either of the dropdowns. In both cases either your code needs to be aware which sets have all possible armor types vs a specific one (like most overland and dungeon sets) OR rely on user to choose wisely. - Ahh, I see now...my mistake. I've added a couple of 4/3 and 3/3/1 setups to the armor type lists. This, however, is still a very simple utility. It tries to change armor types as best it can but generally cannot currently deal with sets that only come in one armor type. Thief mundus percentage value
Selecting the thief mundus increases critical chance by 7% with no divines pieces, and by 11% with divines pieces. Has this been changed since patch 6.1.6 where the critical chance was reduced from 1537 (~7%) to 1333 (6%)?
Ingame tests: No divines 6%, 7 gold divines 10%.
Build editor tests: No divines 7%, 7 gold divines 11.4%.

- Sounds like a JavaScript error of some sort, although there are no known issues at this time. Can you let me know the OS and browser you are using and a link to the build or builds in question? Item set scaling
Item sets that proc events that deal damage or heal now scale similarly to abilities, based on specific stats, which will now be called out in the tooltip. Check each section to see which sets scale with what! The following scaling methods are currently available, which may expand or change in the future:
- Damage focused proc-based events will scale with the higher of your Weapon or Spell Damage.
- You must have 5,478 Weapon or Spell Damage to reach the original value of many sets.
- Healing focused proc-based events will scale with the higher of your Max Magicka or Stamina.
- You must have 38,350 Max Magicka or Stamina to reach the original value of many sets.
- Tanking focused proc-based events will either scale with your Max Health, and in some rare cases, will use the higher of your Physical or Spell Resistance.
- You must have 38,350 Max Health or 27,890 Physical or Spell Resistance to reach the original value of many sets.
This was copied from the Patch notes of PTS v7.0.0, I am not sure if this is currently being worked on for the PTS Switch on the UESP Builder but I say this because with most armor sets I noticed quite a lot of discrepancies with a few of them when picking out specific armor with the PTS button on. (Specifically the damage of some sets being lower than intended when explicitly stated by ZoS that they scale accordingly to these notes above.)

At least two, maybe all ability formulas are incorrect
The formula for Crystal Fragments IV in the Build Editor is incorrect, reading = 0.10691 Magicka + 1.12261 SpellDamage
However, the correct formula for the Update 30 PTS is $1 = 0.110359 Magicka + 1.16009 SD - 1.36378 (from https://esoitem.uesp.net/viewSkillCoef.php?version=30pts) This second formula also corresponds to the tooltip damage in-game on the Update 30 PTS.
The Daedric Minefield IV formula is also incorrect. The correct formula (I tested it in PTS 30) is at https://esoitem.uesp.net/viewSkillCoef.php?version=30pts
I only checked 2 ability formulas and they were both incorrect - I assume the rest are incorrect too?

- They seem to be correct only because the of the new tooltip system and how the coefficients are displayed for different ranks (the rank factor can't be added to the base coefficient as it rounding would be off in some cases). There was also a bug in not applying rank factors to skill morphs. I've fixed that and added the display of rank factors to the skill browser. Comparing the values now:

- Rank 1 New Tooltip = 0.10691 Magicka + 1.12261 SD
- Rank 4 New Tooltip = Rank 1 * 1.033 = 0.11044 Magicka + 1.1597 SD
- Manually Calculated = 0.110359 Magicka + 1.16009 SD

Made the following adjustments to item set scaling: Sets that use Weapon and Spell Damage now require 6574 of either in order to reach their original values, up from 5478, resulting in approximately a 17% reduction. Sets that use Magicka or Stamina now require 39,901 of either in order to reach their original values, up from 38,350, resulting in approximately a 4% reduction. Sets that use Health now require 43,968 to reach their original values, up from 38,350, resulting in approximately a 13% reduction. Sets that use Physical or Spell Resistance now require 30,680 of either, up from 27,890, resulting in approximately a 9% reduction.

Maelstrom duel wield buff now working
When using the Maelstrom duel, the buff associated with it cannot be selected in the buffs tab (nor does it appear in the sets tab) - additionally, the items tool tip displays 0 weapon and spell damage added by using flurry.
Also, in the same buffs tab the blade cloak buff is displayed as a 25% reduction in damage taken from AoE as opposed to the 20% it actually is. Thank you -- spitball27 (talk) 09:23, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

The Heartland Conqueror
When front barring "The Heartland Conqueror" (i.e. jewellery and weapons), the tool tips show that doing so has no effects on the back bar weapon trait (i.e. infused does not benefit from the set and the enchantment on the back bar does not either) - is this how the set works?

Great build editor, by far the best. I am pretty thrilled I just beat Vateshran Hollows. And I am wondering about having character titles as an option for the editor? They do provide valuable information--beating this solo arena takes a minimum dps among other things. So perhaps not purely cosmetic, but also indicating information. In my case, I couldn't beat this arena without adding on Malacath Band of Brutality. Anyway, so a suggestion from me to improve an already incredible work.

- Usually this is due to a temporary JavaScript error. Can you reload the page fully (Ctrl or Shift F5) and see if that works. If not check the dev console with F12 and see if there are any error messages (and post them here if so). Can't save or copy builds.
As title, I can't save or copy a build and always receive the message "ERROR saving build!". I've tried what suggested in the help section so deleting cookies and loggin out and in again. Grik (talk) 18:40, 25 June 2021 (UTC)
- Usually this is a temporary issue caused by a JavaScript error. Try doing a full page reload with Ctrl or Shift F5 and see if you still have issues check the JavaScript dev console with F12 to see if there are any errors. diamonds victory bonus not effecting tool tips

- I fixed a bug that was preventing Melee Weapon damage from taking effect. The other types seem to be working correctly now. If you have a specific skill that is not being modified let me know. You can check if a skill is being modified by clicking the "..." skill details button and looking for a line like:
Weapon Damage Used = 1695 (Channel/Cast + Ranged + physical)

Hello!
I would like extra skill bars that I can name. As a casual PvPer I just switch some skills around for my PvP setup.

Build editor Miss
Something with the 7.1 patch to the editor is not correctly displaying Crit% CritDMG% and Spell DMG Totals... Build's loosing stats
Not sure if this is due to the new update, but I did not see anything in the patch notes so I am not sure what is causing this, but all my builds seem to have had 1000 weapon or spell damage shaved off of their stats...is there something that I am missing, thank you -- spitball27 (talk) 20:46, 14 July 2021 (UTC)
- As noted at the top of the page, updated skills are not always working. So, for example, Balanced Warrior from Aedric Spear (Templar) is not providing 6% weapon/spell damage, Agility (Medium Armor) is not providing 2% weapon/spell damage per medium piece, and Slayer (Fighters Guild) is not providing 3% weapon/spell damage per FG slotted. On my stamplar, that's a total of 32% weapon damage modifier missing. Since it was stated on the page, I take this to be a known issue that will be fixed in due time. Some of the updated armor passives don't give their bonuses like the armor pen from light and the weapon/spell damage from medium. Also battlespirit mitigation needs to be adjusted. Minor Brittle (Target) seems to have no effect on the build
Toggling Minor Brittle (Target) in the Buffs tab does not appear to impact the stats of a build at all. The debuff effectively adds 10% critical damage.
I'm looking primarily at the build's critical damage and effective power. Is there somewhere else I should be looking to see the effects of this debuff? Virtus753 (talk) 21:00, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- Target buffs and effects don't affect the build's power or any tooltip values like in-game. For this buff you could argue it should be added to the player's CritDamage stat even though that doesn't happen in-game (at least I assume it still doesn't). -- Daveh (talk) 19:35, 20 July 2021 (UTC)

Elemental Catalyst debuffs are wrong
The elemental catalyst flame, frost, and shock weaknesses on the buffs/debuffs page are wrong. The debuffs do not increase that element’s crit damage (flame weakness does not increase flame damage crit damage). Instead each weakness increases the targets crit damage taken by 5% for all damage (just like brittle), so it should increase weapon and spell crit damage by 5% per weakness.
