Small suggestionEdit
Perhaps this is still being worked on, and if so ignore this - but the colors for "Legendary" and "Base" are a little difficult to read against the light background. Maybe needs some contrast?--Jimeee (talk) 17:19, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
- Yeah, I did darken the "Base" color a bit already. It was like this but I changed it to this. I don't want to go all the way to black, because it should be different from normal text. The gold for "Legendary" is harder because if you go too dark it just looks brown. Part of the reason I created the ESO Gear template was so that it'd be easy to change that on the fly. If you want to come up with some better colors, go ahead. (Unfortunately, we can't use the actual colors from the game, since those are seen on a nearly black background, so they're too light to appear on our site well.) — TheRealLurlock (talk) 18:02, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
- Hmm, are the colors: Grey > Blue > Green > Pink > Gold loosely based on in-game representation or is this something you have come up with? Are the colors open to changes - I can do a few palette tests in photoshop and see what can work? --Jimeee (talk) 18:17, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
- Yeah, in game, they're White > Blue > Green > Purple > Gold, but again that's against a dark background. I think I've got the colors fairly close except for the white, which is obviously out of the question here. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 18:40, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
- Yeah, those colors are just wrong. See my talk page, though we should keep the conversation here for consistency. You can't just pick arbitrary colors, especially if they directly contradict those used in the game. Try and come up with some variation on mine, don't just make stuff up. — TheRealLurlock (talk) 18:52, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
- (Moved from your talk page) I wasn't sure if the original order was important, I asked on the Bows talk page if it was. That link Kiz posted helps as I didn't play the beta. It certainly makes sense to have it somewhat similar to the order in-game. As for gold - I tried several variants, but against the light background you are always going to have an issue with the contrast. Even text-shadow css looked bad. Like you said, darker will get you brown. --Jimeee (talk) 18:55, 11 March 2014 (GMT)
