Oblivion talk:Haynote Cave
MotherlodeEdit
I visited this cave earlier this morning to find it full of fantastic loot! Many people on the official forums say the same and I can agree. On my level 6 character I reaped 10,000 septims worth of loot. I would think this cave is better than Rockmilk! --Matthewest •T•C•E• 22:25, 4 July 2008 (EDT)
- Seriously disagree. With a level 9 character, I am getting nothing but brown bears (2 to 4 per room), no chests or any loot other than pelts. The experience is much like suicide, in that I can't survive very long (I thought brown bears weren't supposed to appear in the game until level 17). It certainly is not worth the effort. There are zero containers of any sort. The only loot is the pelts. You must be using a mod that alters this, or my unmodded version is bugged beyond belief. 98.211.124.111 15:30, 11 October 2009 (UTC)
Haynote is a Remarkable CaveEdit
This cave, at level 9,10 also yielded an enormous amount of loot, enchanted items (spell reflection 14%), hundreds of septims, dozens of troll and bear pelts...I think there are more chests here per square meter than anyother cave excepting perhaps Greenmead which is an incredibly loot-rich spot at any level. I return to both caves at almost each level and come away with a similarly large amount of loot. Thus, I disagree completely with comment 2, and agree totally with comment 1. Try this cave...it's a classic winner. — Unsigned comment by 68.238.221.64 (talk) at 20:51 on April 22, 2011
- I set my level to 9 and went through the entire cave. It was impressive. Impressively poor quality loot for such a large area... I got less than 200 gold total, a few nuggets, and some arrows. Although I did find a good quality amulet of reflect spell. But overall, nothing remarkable in any way. Looking into the Construction Set to back up my findings, all of the chests are just your average Dungeon Mythical Enemy variety, found in many different places. The enemies are also spawned with a list at random. At level 9 I encountered many Rats, a few Trolls, and a couple Black Bears. It's all about the luck of the draw in what is randomly spawned. --DKong27 Talk Cont 03:21, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Haynote Cave ChestsEdit
You've undone a few important edits I did on the Haynote Cave, specifically noting (with an updated map) the underwater chests. Yes, they were already on the old map, but in line with the OPRP I was adding content to explain further, since they were not identified as underwater in the description or the map. It's fine with me if we leave it as it is, I know a lot of folks have their egos caught up in wikis and as a rule I never, edit them unless it seems important. But it was a good edit, with a new, clearly marked map, and people visiting the wiki would have found it helpful. It's going to be tough to get the OPRP running smoothly if people don't like new edits. Cheers.Morgaledh 16:44, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry, but Legoless did the right thing; we don’t mention whether or not chests are underwater in the contents sections or on maps – both are meant as a quick overlook of what a particular zone contains and acts as companion pieces to the walkthroughs (not yet written for Haynote Cave). I realize you made these edits in good faith, and can understand your frustration, but we have certain guidelines for how these pages are done – and we simply don’t list or display underwater chests. That being said, some of our maps displays underwater sections accordingly – take a look at this page for examples – this is how water should be displayed – and the walkthroughs are there too, explaining which chests are underwater. Hope that helped a bit! --Krusty 17:23, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
