An Atmoran demon?Edit

Is Mora a Daedra or an "ancient Atmoran demon"? 68.166.66.23 19:53, 21 July 2008 (EDT)

Xarxes' stub says he passed his knowledge on to Hermaeus Mora through the Oghma Infinium, yet in his quest in Oblivion Mora says of the book "Knowledge given from me to Xarxes is contained within." Since the stub is all I can find on Xarxes and it conflicts with something in game, I'm going to edit Xarxes' page unless someone can clear it up. 66.167.32.222 06:05, 27 August 2008 (EDT)

Hermaeus Mora, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft?Edit

Does anyone else think his design was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft stories about the Elder Gods? I mean, he looks very disturbing, he has vasts amounts of knowledge, he speaks in a gutteral voice in Oblivion, the resemblences are obvious. — Unsigned comment by 74.64.117.13 (talk) at 04:21 on 13 August 2009 (GMT)

Quite likely. There are plenty of other Lovecraft references throughout the series, and IMO this is one of the more obvious ones.--99.169.82.110 06:19, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Man thats exactly what I was thinking! Glad to know that I'm not the only one who thinks so. --Chaosian 21:21, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Clean-up pointsEdit

While I admit this article may need some clean-up, I find the removal of the game references to be unneeded. All the other Aedra/Daedra articles have them, and it is official lore of the actions of the Princes. Rhoan 22:50, 30 January 2012 (UTC)

Wretched Abyss no more.Edit

Since the debut of the DLC Dragonborn, while you are quest for the Oghma Infinium, Hermaeus Mora no longer shows up as a big blue ball. He is shown in his true form of tentacles and eyes to coincide with the DLC. IMO he looks much better in this form anyway. — Unsigned comment by 213.255.219.102 (talk) at 14:22 on 5 December 2012

It would probably be best to replace "the wretched abyss" picture, but references to this as a name for him should be allowed. Though his appearance changes, does his displayed name change? Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 03:48, 11 December 2012 (GMT)

Moras' Artifacts?Edit

Can we consider the black books and the oghma infinium the artifacts of this Daedric Lord? — Unsigned comment by Criswolf09 (talkcontribs) at 12:14 on 6 March 2013

FirstbladeEdit

Can we consider Miraak's Sword to be an artifact of Hermaeus Mora? 72.86.46.245 02:59, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
The Firstblade is sold as a weapon style in ESO during the month that Lore:Hermaeus Mora's Summoning Day falls on, as well as is bundled with a banner to the daedric prince. It doesnt say that it was made by herma mora, but it is clearly being conflated by extent with him.Zebendal (talk) 03:32, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
While it belonged to Miraak, the entirely Apocrypha-type composition of eldritch green bone and tendrils lets us know that Mora made it for him or Miraak used materials from Apocrypha to make it. Its not made from anything Nordic/Dragon Cult-related, plus the points mentioned above. The Rim of the Sky (talk) 04:13, 9 September 2021 (UTC)
