Scorpions are small arachnids with pincers and venomous stingers that can found throughout the arid regions of Tamriel, most commonly Hammerfell. Most small species give live birth to baby scorpions with soft shells, carrying their young on their back.[1][2]
There are several varieties of scorpion. Some species are known to grow to massive sizes. Spook Scorpions are scorpions with a spectral appearance that could be found in Shadowfen. Rihad Coffee Scorpions and Cerulean Scorpions can be kept as pets. Scorpions of various sizes can even be found in the Deadlands.[2]
The deadly Giant Scorpion, like their smaller cousins, can be found in most arid regions of Tamriel. They are often the size of horses.[3] Their sting is known to possess a paralyzing effect, so great caution is required when dealing with them. In addition to their great size and power, giant scorpions give birth by laying eggs in nests, in contrast to how smaller species reproduce. This is believed to be due to the sheer size and number of offspring the adult scorpion matrons can produce at a time.[1]
