Galen
Type Island
Continent Tamriel
"Or, in yet another telling, Galen was the name of an island in a lake. A place of sacred worship where Y'ffre's heart could be felt beating even here in the realm of mortals. It was there, on that island, where our forebearers heard the songs and learned to tend the groves."Druid Laurel

Galen was a legendary location of sacred worship of Y'ffre. According to some tales of the Druidic oral tradition, it was an island in a lake where Y'ffre's heart could be felt beating, despite it being in High Rock[1] on Nirn, the realm of mortals. According to the tales it was there, where ancestors of the modern Druids heard the songs and learned to tend the groves. Some of the stories claim that the northwestern island of the Systres archipelago was named after the lake island of Galen.[2]

NotesEdit

  • Galen's existence is dubious. According to some sources, the name of the northwestern isle of the Systres archipelago originates from the name of the first Druid Queen or the spirit who taught ancestors of the Druids of the True Way.[2]
