Edhelorn was a Bosmer who served as the Silvenar the mid-Second Era. As the Silvenar he was "The Voice of the People", the embodiment of the will of the Bosmer. He also represented the spiritual side of the Bosmer, while his counterpart and wife Finoriell represented the physicality of the Bosmer as the Green Lady. Both loved each other dearly.[1][2]

He was instrumental in the formation of the first Aldmeri Dominion, helping bring together the Bosmer of Valenwood, the Altmer of Summerset and the Khajiit of Elsweyr. He acted as a diplomatic envoy from the inception of the Dominion and gained a reputation as an unrivalled diplomat.[1][3]

In 2E 582 he travelled to Khenarthi's Roost to peacefully bring the Khajiiti population into the fold of the Dominion. However, his efforts were stymied by the longstanding treaty between the Maormer and Khajiiti. This was headed by the Maormer ambassador Ulondil who saw the arrival of the Dominion Fleet as an act of aggression.[4] Matters were made more murky when neither side would produce the Treaty of Khenarthi's Roost which would allow Edhelorn a place to begin negotiations.[5]

With the assistance of an Eye of the Queen, Dominion agents retrieved the Maormer copy of the Treaty from their embassy in Mistral, which was heavily biased towards the Maormer and had loopholes Edhelorn could use.[3] Before this could happen, Edhelorn was found murdered within his quarters by a daedric poison. Investigation revealed this to be a plot led by Ulondil, as he believed the Silvenar and the Green Lady would be able to stop "the Tempest" a massive storm magic ritual that would easily destroy Mistral if left unchecked.[5][4] Ulondil was relying on the link between the Silvenar and the Green Lady killing the other if one was killed. However, he did not realize that the Green Lady's death would not be simultaneous and was tracked down by the vengeful Finoriell. It is unknown if Finoriell was prevented from killing Ulondil, but Harrani, the mayor of Mistral agreed to join the Dominion.[6][5]

NotesEdit

  • Edhelorn usually referred to by his position as the Silvenar, but he is mentioned by name in the Aldmeri Dominion song "Over the Seas".
