Betray is a card effect that can be found on Actions in the Elder Scrolls Legends that first appeared in the Houses of Morrowind expansion. After you play an action with Betray, you may sacrifice a creature to play that action again.
The following are some characteristics around the second usage of the action:
- Playing an action again via Betray will count as playing two actions.
- Visually, after sacrificing a creature but before you play the action again, the cost of the card will appear as 0. However, once you play the action again, the cost of the card will return to the original cost of the card despite spending no magicka.
- Any cost increase/decrease applied exclusively to the original Betray action will not be considered in the second use's cost determination.
- Any effects presently increasing/reducing the cost of all actions or all cards will be considered in the second use's cost determination.
- The second use of the action is considered to be a card that is originally in your deck. Thus, Skooma Cat's Whimsy will not lower what the cost of the second usage is considered to be.
