Olaf Cold-Heart is a Nord barbarian who will try to enlist your help to find his missing friend.
He only appears once you spend a night at The Restful Watchman and start the related quest.
Olaf initially wears barkeeper clothes and a pair of matching shoes, although he will change into steel armor and steel cuffed boots at the campsite. He is armed with a steel battleaxe and also carries a random selection of gold, lockpicks, rings, food and drink.

DialogueEdit
Once you meet the criteria, he will introduce himself:
- "Hail, traveler. I'm Olaf, Olaf Cold-Heart. Silly name was passed down to me from my father... You aren't from Bruma. Did I see you arrive from the north? Are you... did you arrive from Skyrim?"
If you say you did, he will be pleased:
- "Ah, this is good news, indeed! We don't get many travelers from my homeland these days. The roads are too dangerous - and the border controls are too tight."
If you lie, he will mutter:
- "Oh, really? I have to say I'm disappointed, traveler. I was hoping to speak with a fellow countryman! That said... to spend a night at the Restful Watchman... you've got backbone! And you look like you can handle yourself in a scrap."
He will then continue:
- "You must be a bit hardier than the usual milk-drinkers I have to deal with! Tell me, are you a mercenary? Or do you fight for a higher cause?"
You can then tell him you for fight for what you believe in, for gold, or that it's none of his business. If you then choose to ignore his subsequent offer of work, Olaf can then be found working in the tavern from 7am to 11pm - catching a one-hour break to eat at 6pm - before going to sleep at midnight.
If you eventually ask him for more details, he will explain what's at stake:
- "Blood! Honor! Glory to Skyrim and the Nords! And a modest bit of loot, of course. We're going to rescue a good friend of mine. Of course, it may require you to get your hands a little... dirty. If you head east out of Bruma for a ways, you'll find a camp near Sedor, one of those ancient elven ruins. Meet me there. Oh, and, err, here - let me mark it on your map."
He will then relocate to a campsite near the Ayleid ruin of Sedor.
Once you arrive there, you will unmask him as a Stormcloak who is really after the documents of an Imperial courier. You can decide to either kill him and his three companions, or aid them in entering the ruin and retrieving the papers.
If you choose to kill him after this and take the documents to his contact, Ungveir, yourself, he will make clear his disdain for Olaf:
- "I'm here to liaise with that jumpy little milk-drinker of a Nord, Olaf. I was told to expect that unblooded whelp, Olaf. I guess my gut feeling about him proved right in the end. You have my thanks - and the gratitude of all true Nords. Here - take the payment Olaf was due. It's the least you deserve for stepping up in place of that milk-drinker."
