Deletion PolicyEdit
Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thank you for your interest in contributing to the site! You recently removed all the content from certain wiki pages. Blanking pages is not appropriate. You may want to review Help:Editing to learn about how to edit wiki pages. I understand that you blanked the pages because you felt it should be deleted, but it is more appropriate to request deletion for the page, as explained by our deletion policy. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --Alphabetface 21:10, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
Multiple EditsEdit
Hello and welcome to UESPWiki! Thanks for your interest in the wiki; however, you seem to have been making multiple edits to a page by not using the show preview button, clogging up the Recent Changes in the process. We appreciate your enthusiasm, but keep in mind that each edit needs to be patrolled, so multiple consecutive edits create an unnecessary hassle on those who patrol. So please utilize this feature! You may also want to look over our style guide and Getting Started guide. Feel free to ask if you have any questions. --Velyanthe 23:48, 19 February 2012 (UTC)
WelcomeEdit
Hello! Welcome to UESPWiki. It's always good to have new members. If you would like to help improve any of our pages, you may want to take a look at the following links:
- Policies and Guidelines: UESPWiki standards and expectations
- Quick Editing Guide: a quick guide to wiki markup
- Getting Started: how you can help
If you, on the other hand, would like to spice up your userpage, take a look at this link:
- Userboxes: near complete list of userboxes, including a guide to make your own
When you're editing, it's always a good idea to leave edit summaries to explain the changes you have made to a particular page, and remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes ~~~~. Also, the "show preview" button is a great way to view the changes you've made so far without actually saving the page (our patrollers really appreciate it!).
Feel free to practice editing in the sandbox or discuss the games in the forums. If you need any help, don't hesitate to contact one of our mentors. Have fun! --Velyanthe 00:48, 20 February 2012 (UTC)

- Hah, you're very welcome. You can also include it by pressing the signature button above the edit box--it's the second button from the right. --Velyanthe 01:07, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
preview button rant :PEdit
its so frustrating that the preview window doesn't give a accurate view of the final result like when wikitable is used you just don't know if your edit is gonna break style sheet. Sonic0170 03:00, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- One thing you can try is using your own Sandbox page. If you copy/paste whatever section/page you're trying to edit into your Sandbox, then you can make all the changes you want, and saving it in your Sandbox will allow you to see what the end result will be without messing up an actual page if it doesn't work. Once you figure out exactly what changes you want to make, go back to the original page and copy/paste from your Sandbox to edit the page appropriately. I've found this really helpful when it comes to editing tables since a small typo can mess up a lot.
- Here's some info on creating your own Sandbox, copied from the general Sandbox page:
- "If you want to create your own personal sandbox that won't be quickly reverted in order to test something, you can create a page at
[[User:<yourname>/Sandbox]]
. You can even create more than one of these by adding a number or something to the end. Keep in mind that even though this may be in your User space, the same rules apply there as to the rest of the site regarding the posting of copyrighted or offensive material." - Hope this helps!
