Imperial Jerkface - Behind the NameEdit

This name was derived from the fact the majority of my characters are Imperials, and most are jerks. My first successful character, however, was a Redguard in Morrowind.

ReservedEdit

Reserved for some reason. I have yet to figure it out.

Notes on my experiences in MorrowindEdit

This was the first game I played in the Elder Scrolls series. I played the X-Box version, but I switched to the PC version for the Construction Set.

My first character was an Argonian, though I don't remember the class I chose. I only picked him because he was capable of breathing underwater and was resistant to disease. I really didn't know about the attributes and skills at the time as it was different from other RPGs that I have played. After screwing about for a while and eventually getting around to reading the manual and understanding the mechanics of the game, I set down and created a completely custom character. My second character was a Redguard, and he was pretty successful in what he did. He was mostly a fighter class, reaching as high as level 35. Then I started being an Imperial the majority of the time.

Heading out of a town and needlessly getting lost has never been so much fun, because you never knew what you'd find around the next corner. Whether it would be an annoying Cliff Racer, to an Orc who has a death wish. Then stumbling onto another town, you begin to see the many cultures that shaped this land. From the Imperial built Ebonheart to the Redoran-styled homes of Ald'ruhn. Every aspect of this game was ground breaking, for it's time.

I own both the X-Box version and PC version.

Notes on my experiences in OblivionEdit

The second game I played in the Elder Scrolls series. At first I was impressed by the graphics and physics, not to mention the improved A.I., but was disappointed by the level of genericness given through its presentation. Don't get me wrong, it's still an awesome game to play. My biggest complaint comes from the cluttered U.I. There is just so much data to try to sort.

Again, I was an Imperial most of the time, but with different classes. First I was a tank (warrior), then a Battle Mage-like class. At one point, I created a cross between a fighter and mage with a female High Elf.

I own the PS3 version and the PC version.

Notes on my experiences in SkyrimEdit

One of the very few games I have ever reserved, Skyrim comes to me with great anticipation. Of course the biggest thing I was looking forward to was fighting dragons. And fighting them is incredibly epic! Not o mention all the other things to do in this game, all the factions you can join, and all the mischief you can create! There is so much to do in the game! The Strategy Guide that came with it is over 650 pages!

I am glad they fixed the overall genericness that plagued Oblivion and the U.I. that plagued Oblivion even more. There is more variety in the weapons, armor, items, food (new), as well as spells. There is even more variety when it comes to quests, ranging from your typical clear the dungeon, negotiations, search and rescue, detective work, betrayal and revenge,

Again, I am an Imperial at level 39. He is you typical Imperial tank, but has some sneaky-ness to him as well. He isn't to well versed in the ways of the mage, though he can hold his own.

Unfortunately, this game is riddled with bugs and glitches, much more so than Oblivion and Morrowind. Also, after about 107 plus hours put into my game, the game seems to suffer from a severe amount of frame rate lag, crippling any gameplay rendering Skyrim unplayable. This seems to be a problem common on all platforms and thankfully, Bethesda is working on a patch to help solve this problem.

EDIT 1: Today (Wednesday, November 30th, 2011), I downloaded the patch (1.2) to help fix the lag problem and fix other issues, but the patch seemed to create more problems than solved. From small things like not being able to interact with my bookshelves correctly, to major things like the infamous "Dragon flying backwards" bug and all resistance magic and enchantments pretty much non-existent. The second dragon I saw after the update actually flew backwards and did not engage properly, making fighting some dragons impossible. I even used Dragonrend on it, only to have the dragon suffer from a seizure mid-air, an it never landed, never took damage. This is a serious problem as the main story requires you to fight a lot of dragons. By far, this is the worst update I have ever seen, and I have seen some pretty ugly ones. Well, at least it fixed the lag problem, mostly as it's still present, just not as severe.

I own the PS3 version.
