The Elder Scrolls Online Confirmed for Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 — August 06, 2020
The Elder Scrolls Online team have shared their release plans for the next generation of consoles. ESO will be available on the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, although they were unable to provide a release date for the game on those platforms. They also described the new console versions as being "upgraded", although any specifics beyond compatibility with the new consoles are not known at this time. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 players who own ESO on their respective consoles, or purchase it before the release of the next-gen version of the game will receive the upgraded version of the game at no additional cost.
The ESO team additionally stated they are focused on providing backwards compatibility with the next-gen version, highlighting that ensuring your full account transfers over as it is a major priority, without any loss in progression.
