False PositivesEdit

It looks like that pages that got an image added since the change to this template at Jan 14 populate (sometimes?) categories like Category:Pages with broken file links and Category:Online NPCs with Non-Square Images. It seems to be some caching issue rather than an issue with the template logic (calls to expensive?). The pages themselves will not show having those categories (with hidden cats shown preference), but show up in the category list and in edit/preview. Purging pages (or images) doesn't help, but blanking and reverting did help. I'm a bit at loss for the cause, maybe it's not related to this template but a server issue too. --Alfwyn (talk) 15:39, 15 February 2020 (GMT)

Given your description, I suspect it's not the template itself, but just a side-effect of the fact that it updated all those pages. To be on the safe side, though, I just used the API to tell the wiki to update all pages that call Parameter Check. Sometimes, the API seems to do a better job of that than simply updating the template (or maybe it's just the fact that it's being run a second time), so we'll see if that fixes anything. – Robin Hood  ^(talk) 20:09, 15 February 2020 (GMT)
