Attrebus Ayonis is an Imperial Scribe and an Agent of the Census and Excise Office. He is a direct reference to the prominent and long-serving TR modder, Atrayonis, and along with Nemon Sadras and Harald Swift-Oak is one of several such tributes in the highly self-referential Imperial Census Office, in Old Ebonheart's Ebon Tower. In-game, Attrebus bemoans the uncertainty of place names:
"Half of our maps are outdated or Tharnite propaganda. It's not Stoneforest, it's not Vivane, it's not Dragon Glade, and I'm sure neither Yscad nor Kithendis ever existed!"
This is almost certainly a nod to Tamriel Rebuilt's extensive and frequent developer discussions on what Bethesda meant locations to be called, often bringing incontradictory evidence from the Elder Scrolls Arena and other sources.
