Command AnimalEdit

PC Users, can someone dig into their files and find out what the strength of Command Animal is? Its Oblivion counter-part was quickly made worthless due to its low level. Noobishlord 20:55, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

99 pts. I've added the info to the article. Although it will probably take in-game testing to confirm whether or not that means animals up to level 99. --NepheleTalk 21:04, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
It does. Unlike in Oblivion, effects that apply up to a certain level just use the magnitude as their maximum level, rather than quarter the magnitude or whatever it was in Oblivion.--SushiSquid 20:26, 27 December 2011 (UTC)

Does it affect multiple targets? -- 64.4.124.164 00:04, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

It affects an area, so my guess is that it would, yes, but I've tagged this as a good question so hopefully someone can confirm it in-game. Robin Hoodtalk 07:11, 25 March 2012 (UTC)
As far as I can tell it acts like the Animal Allegiance shout and affects animals in front of the user in a triangular fashion. (Animals behind the user appear unaffected by the Power)Chronic 00:13, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Comparing the two, they're almost identical in terms of coding. There are minor differences in terms of the effect radius and such, but even the part that appears to be the area of effect for Command Animal is using a Shout-related file, so I think Chronic's answer is bang-on. Robin Hoodtalk 02:41, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Not to sound sarcastic or anything because I don't mean it that way... But 3 years on the wiki and my first right answer, baboom! Also, removed the important question tag as I believe the question has been answered.Chronic 21:03, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
Hehehe...well done! And yeah, I meant to remove the tag the other day and forgot. Thanks! Robin Hoodtalk 21:19, 28 March 2012 (UTC)

Bias against Command AnimalEdit

It's kinda useful even at high levels, particularly around Winterhold. Snow Bears are useful allies, and it doesn't use your conjured creature slot so you can have an atronach, a follower and a bear all fighting on your side.

Animal Allegiance is better, though, because it's not a power, and it does essentially the same thing; of course you need to be Harbinger in order to master it, but that's not an especially long questline. --Morrolan (talk) 01:02, 28 July 2013 (GMT)
