Skyrim talk:Fox

Guide you to stuff?Edit

I've heard rumors that if you follow a fox for long enough, they'll lead you to like a treasure or a new location or something. I haven't had the chance to test it myself yet but if this is true, then it's probably worth including in the article.

I've heard similar rumors, but I don't think it's ever been proven conclusively. ThuumofReason (talk) 11:57, 15 April 2013 (GMT)
No, they just run about. They have no special behaviors or scripts. It's just people trying to find meaning in something random. Vely►t►e 12:05, 15 April 2013 (GMT)

Fox Respawn BuggedEdit

Both the regular foxes and snow foxes fail to respawn. They are missing the respawn flag in the game data. Arthmoor stated that this will be fixed in the USKP v. 2.0 (which is currently in beta). --Blackpete (talk) 08:18, 12 October 2013 (GMT)

This has been added into the change log for USKP v. 2.0 and is a confirmed bug that is addressed in that version. --Blackpete (talk) 02:37, 13 October 2013 (GMT)

Fox as a "portable container" to avoid being OverencumberedEdit

Loading excess Inventory items into a dead Fox allows you to move at normal speed. Simply use the "Grab" function to carry the Fox and its contents with you. The weight of the items within the Fox does not affect the Fox's carry weight or physics.

Melee weapons, Bows, Staves, Spells and Shouts can be used while carrying the Fox, but it tends to get in the way. Much better to drop the Fox when combat is necessary and pick it up again afterwards when continuing your travels.

The carried Fox will not travel with you through Doors that initiate Loading Screens, nor will it travel with you when you take a Carriage ride or Fast Travel, but this exploit is useful for getting yourself and your extra weighty Inventory items much closer to your destination without being forced to travel at a snail's pace across the Map. A bit of care must be taken when wading/swimming, and it's best to point the camera upwards to prevent the Fox from being washed out of your grasp. A dead Fox will float, though, no matter how much weight it is carrying, so it isn't too difficult to retrieve a lost meat purse.

A dead Skeever can also be used, but other small animals like Mudcrabs and Rabbits cannot. (Dead Mudcrabs don't seem to respond to the "Grab" function, while killed Rabbits seem to become "glued" to the ground and can't be moved.) Goats, and anything larger, are too heavy to be grabbed and carried. Evil-i (talk) 05:56, 12 September 2014 (GMT)
