Skyrim talk:Farmer (NPC)

DetailsEdit

These are likely the Farmers referenced here (not sure about the multiple Nords though). As I recall, the Dunmer says something along the lines of "I'm going to go join the Imperial Legion. The Empire's always been good to me/us" (I last had the encounter many months ago).--Anil (talk) 13:35, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

I just ran into the Farmer NPC that I thought this page referred to. He was leading a painted cow to a giants camp, and he has a lot to say about it. He explains that giving the giants a cow keeps the giants away from the rest of the livestock. He then says most believe this pratice to be superstition. Finally he also will explain that the paint on the cows tells the giants that the cow is willingly being given to them. If talked to again he will says either way things turn out he is going to the inn. In my case I had already cleared the giant camp he delivered the cow to, Bleakwind Basin, so I can't share how the giants react. 67.189.182.125 22:30, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
I fiddled with your post to make it readable, otherwise it goes off the page. It's already known that the giants do not harm the cow and it's just left to graze. I had forgotten about that event, that accounts for one more farmer. If anyone can get the dialogue verbatim for any of these farmers, post it--Anil (talk) 12:49, 9 September 2012 (EDT)
I seen a few farmers (the ones that wanted to join a side on the Civil War) head the opposite of the side they want to join. Is that natural or is there a glitch behind their terrible sense of direction? AThiefWithNordicBeauty (talk) 01:18, 15 November 2013 (GMT)
They don't have a particular direction to go in, I believe. Not a glitch, just something that Bethesda didn't really bother with. Vely►t►e 01:44, 15 November 2013 (GMT)

Farmers seeking refugeEdit

I have always wondered about the farmers seeking refuge. It would seem logical that giving them 5 gold should grant the Gift of Charity, like other beggars, has anyone looked about this in the files? Perhaps it was intended but not implemented. Caralampio (talk) 20:33, 28 March 2015 (GMT)

I doubt it was ever intended to be that way. Arthmoor's been putting out the unofficial patches for years now, and he probably would have noticed this and fixed it by now if it was supposed to be in the original game. Without any clear evidence, this is more the domain of modding. Zul do onikaanLaan tinvaak 13:33, 29 March 2015 (GMT)

Farmer Joining the StormCloaksEdit

I've frequently run into these farmers out on the road wandering Skyrim, talking about joining the legion or the stormcloaks. Usually I run into them far from any landmarks, so I ignore them. I have followed the farmer with the cow and saw the interaction there, but I was wondering if there was a similar interaction with the farmers going to join the war. Recently, I ran into one just outside Windhelm, on the road near Morvunskar. Because we were just moments from Windhelm, I decided to follow him. He walked right up to the gates of Windhelm and opened them and disappeared. When I went through the gates, he was not on the other side. He just disappears from the world once he reaches his destination. I don't know if that needs to be added to the article, but it was something I was curious about that wasn't covered here. - BelowTheRoot (talk) 18:04, 25 May 2019 (UTC)

So It's a few years later. I was playing the Anniversary edition and as I was leaving the Palace in Windhelm, a farmer walked in and stood there This was on PS4. I grabbed as screenshot, but have no idea how to share it. BelowTheRoot (talk) 18:24, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
