Skyrim talk:Contract (Theft)
Other contractsEdit
Seems other thefts or crimes may be followed by a "Contract" involving hired thugs. When thugs are searched a note named Contract will be found with the crime, <Alias=Player> and the offeror are mentioned.

What does it mean?Edit
Well, obviously, it means that three hired thugs just tried to kill me, but does this contract affect my relation with the undersigned contractor in any way? In my case, I've picked Solaf's pockets undetected, and unless I inadvertently stole something from his store, that's why he sent them after me. Now are we quits of a sort, or does he still bear ill-will, and if so, how much must one steal from him to merit such a contract? --Mendel (talk) 01:47, 3 February 2014 (GMT)
- As far as I know it does not affect your relationship with the NPC. The quest is triggered upon the theft of an item, regardless of whether you were caught or not. The quest page holds more information for you. --Nocte|Chat|Look 09:49, 17 February 2014 (GMT)
- I see. Thank you! --â—„mendelâ–º (talk) 13:41, 18 February 2014 (GMT)
