Hall of the Curates entrance

Hall of the Curates is a ruined Snow Elf hall. The entrance is found in the Ruined Caldera.

WalkthroughEdit

ExteriorEdit

The door to the Hall is located off the Caldera Temple passageway to the right, just before the bridge, where a shorter passage leads to the skeletal remains of a Falmer and a Snow Elf who both fell in battle and wear unobtainable armor of their respective factions. The dead Falmer has two Sunhallowed Elven Arrows stuck in its bones that you can collect. The Snow Elf's Elven Sword and the modern Falmer's War Axe can also be collected if you wish.

InteriorEdit

(?)

When you first enter the hall, a hallway leads into the building. A short distance in on the right there is a small room dedicated to a Shrine of Auriel. Flanking the altar are unobtainable candlesticks that appear to provide blue light. Further down, the hallway turns to the left and opens out into a larger room where a Falmer and two Falmer Skulkers lie dead. A hole in the roof lets in natural light above the head of an Ancient Falmer Statue that closely resembles the great statue of Irkngthand. On the left side of the room, a Burnt Corpse still clutches an Elven Dagger. In front of you (to the north) and on your right (to the east) are doorways further into the hall, both guarded by Wisps. In the right-hand hallway, behind the Wisp, is another broken wooden barricade and a skeleton mostly buried in rubble. Past this is another Shrine to Auriel, and from here two staircases on either side lead up and around the shrine to the dining hall.

Dining HallEdit

A Wisp floats in place at the north end of the dining hall, up the left-hand stairs from the second shrine. Otherwise the room itself is uninhabited.

The dining hall shows further evidence of the Betrayed attacking the chantry. Some of the platters, jugs, goblets, and bowls on the tables have been knocked over. The longest dining table, which includes the Curate's Seat at its head and runs down the center of the room from north to south, is broken in the middle. A Goblet lies atop the pile of broken stone, and nearby unlootable dead Chaurus lies half-buried in this rubble pile next to a chunk of Chaurus Chitin. Down the west side of the hall are a row of smaller tables with benches; the one in the northeast corner is also broken, and a skeleton still reaches for an enchanted Elven weapon nearby. On the windowsill north of the broken small table is a Potion of Vigorous Magicka and two Goblets. The rest of the east side of the room has no obtainable items except more tableware, but the west side has other items of interest. In back of the shrine is another chunk of Chaurus Chitin, and a lootaable skeleton lying facedown next to an Elven Mace.

Curate's throne roomEdit

The Curate's throne room is the next area, a large room with an open central fireplace, occupied by 3 Wispmothers. They lurk on the other side of the fireplace, in front of the throne itself. You will have to defeat them in order to obtain the unique treasure they guard.

On the west side of the Curate's throne room is a Falmer tunnel that has been dug through the wall. A dead Falmer Skulker is sprawled out in front of the tunnel, presumably killed by the Wispmothers. A half-buried unobtainable Ancient Falmer Shield lies to the left, but on the right is a shield rack holding the Initiate's Bulwark, a unique Ancient Falmer Shield.

On the bookshelves and weapon racks around the room are some potions, and the weapon racks hold more Elven weapons (two Elven Swords on the east side rack, and two Elven Maces on the west side rack). In the northeast corner, on the top level of the bookshelf, is a level potion and a magic scroll. To the right of the throne itself is an Ancient Falmer Chest containing leveled loot.

If you sit on the Curate's throne, you will assume the same regal pose as Jarls do.

The WineryEdit

The winery is the last room in the Hall of the Curates. contains multiple green bottles of wine, and several dried herbs and garlic braids hang from the ceiling.

Falmer TunnelEdit

You can use this tunnel as an exit back to the statue room, but beware of leveled Falmer ready to attack. From the throne room, the tunnel leads west with multiple Glowing Mushrooms growing on the walls. The tunnel then opens into a small natural cave. Directly opposite the tunnel is a smaller passage that you cannot enter, and to the left are two Falmer Pods situated up on the wall. Guarding the way out, the tunnel leading north (to the right), may be a third leveled Falmer, for a total of three you have to battle. In the northwest corner is a Falmer chest.

The tunnel back to the statue room has more Glowing Mushrooms and Cave Worms, and leads through an archway to open out above the floor, similar to other exit tunnels such as Sunderstone Gorge. You can jump down and return to the exit.
