Quick WalkthroughEdit
- Talk to Vinafwe near her house.
Detailed WalkthroughEdit
Vinafwe, a botanist, insists that a Bosmer named Eslion is responsible for vandalizing her arrangements, and it's your job to find out who the culprit really is.
Start searching for signs of vandalism around the area. Within the first arrangement is an old gardening tool that's seen recent use. In the second arrangement you investigate, you find an animal hide bag full of seeds not native to Summerset. The Green Pact compliant bag is a vague clue to Eslion's involvement, but anyone can have an animal hide bag to carry seeds with. Continue your search. At the third arrangement, you find stranglers. Dispatch them. After you've killed the stranglers, a Bosmer's voice will call out to you. Talk to him and see what he has to say.
The Wood Elf introduces himself as Eslion. He admits to the vandalism, but claims the Stranglers were an accident. His brother is a known prankster, and Strangler seeds look very similar to a harmless species of plant's seeds, which he was intending on planting in the gardens. He asks you to help him poison the Stranglers to get rid of them. Your job is to pour Strangler-Poison into the local water sources. There are rivers all across the area, it'd be a good idea to see about pouring the poison into those.
When you get back to Vinafwe's house, it appears that Eslion is being accosted by the Divine Prosecution and the gardener herself. Talk to Justiciar Oradel and Vinafwe, and get this sorted out. You have a choice: agree that what Eslion did is wrong no matter the intent and have him sent to prison, or let Eslion go free. Speak to Justiciar Oradel about your decision and claim your reward.

Vinafwe suspects a Wood Elf named Eslion is responsible for her problems and requested that I search her defaced arrangements for evidence tying him to the crimes.
Objective: Investigate the First Arrangement
I discovered a long abandoned gardening tool that has seen recent use, but I will need more than that to prove Eslion is responsible. I need to search some of Vinafwe's other arrangements.
Objective: Investigate the Second Arrangement
I found an animal hide bag still containing seeds not native to Summerset. It's a good step toward identifying Eslion as the vandal, but I should search the remaining arrangement as well.
Objective: Investigate the Third Arrangement
Stranglers erupted from the ground while I was searching one of Vinafwe's plots. They are too dangerous to leave behind. I should kill them off.
Objective: Defeat the Stranglers
A Wood Elf called out to me after I dealt with the stranglers in Vinafwe's arrangement. I should see what he has to say.
Objective: Talk to Eslion
I found Eslion, who admits he's been planting foreign plants in Vinafwe's arrangements, but claims the stranglers are an accident. He asked me to help poison them to correct his mistake and provided me with a mixture to pour into local water sources.
Objective: Pour Strangler-Poison into Water Sources: 0/4
I added the poison Eslion concocted to the local water sources, which should end the strangler threat. Now I should inform Vinafwe about what I discovered.
Objective: Return to Vinafwe
It appears Eslion's apologies fell on deaf ears, as I found him in the custody of the Divine Prosecution at Vinafwe's home. I should talk to him about his predicament.
Objective: Talk to Eslion
Eslion believes he's going to be arrested and thrown in jail for his actions and has begged me to speak to the Divine Prosecution on his behalf. I need to decide what to tell them.
Complete one: Provide Evidence Against Eslion or Clear Eslion of Wrongdoing
Optional Step: Talk to Vinafwe
(One of these two options will appear depending on your choice to let Eslion either walk away or be arrested) Despite his culpability, I decided that Eslion's attempt to fix his mistake deserves leniency. I should ask Justiciar Oradel to consider that when rendering his judgement. or Objective: Talk to Justiciar Oradel

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
