Squire Ludovel is a Breton who can be encountered around Galen, when you approach him you will find him being constricted by a Reef Viper.

When he is being suffocated by the Reef Viper:
- Squire Ludovel: "Please, someone help me! It's getting…a bit…hard to breathe!"
As you get close, the Reef Viper will uncoil and attack you:
- Squire Ludovel: "Oh, thank you, stranger! Now kill that beast!"
Once you have slain the Reef Viper, Squire Ludovel will offer his services:
- <Squire Ludovel kneels before you.>
- Squire Ludovel: "My friend! I owe you my life! I swear my service to you. I shall be your companion from this day forth."
- <At this several Sea Adders emerge from the ground around you.>
- Squire Ludovel: "That said, I forgot I have somewhere else to be! Good luck!"
- <Squire Ludovel flees.>
