Return a valuable burial urn to its owner.
Zone: Eastmarch
Quest Giver: Burial Urn
Location(s): Old Sord's Cave, Windhelm
Reward: Very Low Leveled Gold
XP Gain: Very Low Experience XP
ID: 4584
Agvar
I found an exquisitely carved urn within Old Sord's Cave. It appears to belong to Agvar of Windhelm.

Quick WalkthroughEdit

  1. Collect the Burial Urn.
  2. Talk to Agvar in Windhelm.

Detailed WalkthroughEdit

Shortly after entering Old Sord's Cave, you will arrive in the first of two wide areas in the cave. At the mouth of the tunnel leading to the second wide area, which leads you towards Eorim the Hammer, you will notice a Nordic burial urn sitting beside a small cart and an assortment of crates. You may then examine the urn:

<This carved container appears out of place among the broken crates and scattered debris in this old mine.>
<Examine the carved container.>
<On closer inspection, this appears to be a well-made burial urn. Among the designs that decorate the urn is a name: Agvar of Windhelm.>
I should return this to Agvar.

After examining the urn, the quest will initiate and direct you to travel to Windhelm. Once you have arrived in the city, you can find Agvar on the shore beside the local fishing hole. After informing him about the urn, he will tell you that it contains his mother's remains, and that it was stolen. He will give you his gratitude and a small amount of gold.

* Any text displayed in angle brackets (e.g., <Alias=LocationHold>) is dynamically set by the game and will be filled in with the appropriate word(s) when seen in game.
  • Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
  • Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
