Awas was an ancient Argonian who lived in Hissmir. She defended the settlement from at least one Kothringi attack; she was adept at using Kothringi weapons, including throwing knives. Part of her life story is preserved in The True Balance, a book made available to pilgrims as part of Hissmir's Trials of the Burnished Scales.

Quest-Related EventsEdit
During Dreams From the Hist, the player-character consumes Hist sap and relives three memories from the mind of Jaraleet's wife. One of them involves the use of Zaht stones to defend Hissmir from a Kothringi attack:
- Awas: "The Kothringi are upon us! Quickly, activate the Zaht stones."
If you speak to her, she'll only say:
- "By Sithis, keep your head down! Activate the Zaht stones and drive back the Kothringi!"
When Jaraleet's wife activates a nearby Zaht stone:
- Awas: "Such power! Were it ever to fall into the Kothringi's hands …."
