A discussion of what happens to a body after death

Even in the first few minutes after the tragic demise of a mer, that miracle appears, which people denote as a corpse pallor. Of course, this term does not do justice to the extremely complicated and exciting process.

During the deathly pallor, the juice of life, the blood, disappears from the body, departing thither. But where does it flow? As is commonly known, the deathly pallor does not occur only among those who find death through a gaping wound. In that case, it would probably still be explained by the fact that the blood leaves the body through the wound and pours into a rivulet.

But how does one explain the disappearance of the blood in an externally intact body? When I initially brought up the concept of 'miracles', I came very close, because no one other than the gods themselves take back what they once gave us. The blood flows back into the ether where it originated. There it will remain until the Aedra give us a new Mer of the same shape.

The circulation of the blood is one of the greatest miracles under Nirn's sky and only thanks to the Aedra.
