Resist Disease M% for D seconds
Decreases by M% your chance of contracting a disease. Note that only the player character can contract diseases. There are many infectious creatures in the game, and some of them may carry and spread up to 3 different kinds of disease.
It is possible, although unnecessary, to have a higher than 100% resistance to disease. This may be achieved through potions and enchanted items.
- The Ring of Vitality provides 100% Resist Disease.
NotesEdit
- This effect is not normally available as a spell. However, you can gain access to it either by becoming a vampire, or through special racial abilities, in which case custom spells and enchantments can be created. The races that provide access to Resist Disease (all 75%) are Argonian, High Elf, Redguard, and Wood Elf.
- This effect can also be acquired via the spell Disease Resistance if the Spell Tomes official download is installed.
- Characters with 100% or higher Resist Disease can still contract Porphyric Hemophilia. However, this is a feature, not a bug, introduced in the 1.1.511 patch, likely so Vicente Valtieri would be certain to give the player vampirism in Darkness Eternal.
BugsEdit
- Characters with 100% or higher Resist Disease and 100% or higher Resist Magic (eliminating the possibility that a Weakness to Disease effect could be applied) can still contract Astral Vapors.
- The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 2.2.0, fixes this bug.
