Direnni; Help with the HistoryEdit
I thought we needed this, previously we had 1 sentence on the Hegemony. History section is sourced "ahem" from TIL. Maybe someone with more expertise can go over this? --Benould•T•C
- Sourced to... TIL Timeline? Or where?Temple-Zero 09:19, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
- Yes it is sourced from the TIL timeline, mainly copy-pasta, because i know nothing about that era/area/DF. The history section could use a once-over, as well as the important people, which is sourced from the Direnni book. --Benould•T•C 12:06, 6 August 2008 (EDT)
- I'm no expert myself, but the timeline is pretty well sourced.- Temple-Zero 20:40, 6 August 2008 (EDT)

verification neededEdit
What verification is needed here? Versidue-Shae was definitely the first Potentate, or at least the first Akaviri ruler of Tamriel. If potentate was a subordinate position within the Imperial government that he already held, we've never heard anything of it.Temple-Zero 17:43, 13 January 2009 (EST)
- I'd have to disagree there. See 2920, Morning Star for instance - Versidue-Shae is already Potentate before the death of Reman III. Book 12 spells out that the title was one he already held. I'm guessing it was a position similar to a prime minister - heading the government while the monarch ruled. That would explain why no other official challenges him. Book 6 states that Versidue-Shae was born on Tamriel, which at least leaves scope for another to have been Potentate before him. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 01:02, 14 January 2009 (EST)
- Ah. Actually, now I see that the sentence was a direct quote from the first footnote source. The ambiguity is built into the text. Does this even warrant a tag like this or should we remove the parentheses?Temple-Zero 13:52, 14 January 2009 (EST)
Time PeriodEdit
According to the article, the height of Direnni power came during the days of the Aldmeri Dominion. This can't be right, since they fell in the First Era and the Dominion was in the Second Era.--Kalis AgeaYes? Contrib E-mail 23:15, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- I can't find any references for it. Lore:Aldmeri Dominion says that the Dominion represented the final legacy of the Direnni, but it has no cite either. --Legoless 02:32, 20 June 2011 (UTC)
Emperor Ami-El?Edit
I've checked, and there doesn't appear to be a good source for this person's existence. I had no prior knowledge this person existed, and can't find anything at all on him at TIL or any source other than the First Era Timeline here. Is this some crap lifted from that other Wiki or something? That's a notoriously bad resource. Pilaf The Defiler (talk) 13:34, 27 October 2013 (GMT)
- It may be from The Daggerfall Chronicles? It was removed from our timeline due to lack of reference. —Legoless (talk) 17:53, 27 October 2013 (GMT)

- Just to update this due to the related ongoing discussion: I checked the book's Timeline section, and it has no entry for 1E 358. —Legoless (talk) 18:27, 29 December 2014 (GMT)
BannerEdit
I don't think the low-quality Daggerfall banner of the three bull heads should be used as our main image of the Direnni. ESO has provided an updated, high quality banner and alembic symbol to better represent the clan. We can explain this away in-universe as Second Era versus Third Era, but from a practical perspective I think we need to treat this banner change as a retcon, or at the very least as a better representation of modern Direnni lore. —Legoless (talk) 11:00, 19 May 2023 (UTC)
