"And the volcano erupted with a thunderous boom. The ground rattled and the sky filled with ash. This did not break Avalian's will. He stared at his enemy—a fiery god of lava and stone. His blade drawn, Trinimac's blessed child Avalian charged the mountain. Though lava flowed and covered the path, Avalian traversed the mountain with such quickness that the heat did not scorch his feet. As quick as the wind, Avalian dove into the mountain, driving his blade into the heart of the beast." —Excerpt from The Book of the Warrior God: 3:24—Avalian's Flight[1]

Avalian was a hero held in high regard by the Orc branch of the Cult of Trinimac, according to which he was a blessed child of Trinimac. He features in the Orsimer religious scripture The Book of the Warrior God and has a passage titled Avalian's Flight devoted to him and his deeds. In this passage, he is described as charging the volcanic mountain and fighting the fiery god of lava and stone during its eruption, and driving his blade into the heart of the beast.[1][2] His deeds influenced the metalworking of the Trinimac Cult faithful. They notch the blades of their axes to evoke Avalian's axe, which was damaged when it cracked the heart of the fire mountain, and emboss them with Vaia's Golden Ash, the symbol of strength and unity of the Orcs.[3]

Avalian was associated with speed and Orc priests of Trinimac could bestow his blessings to the faithful, which greatly imbued their swiftness for a short period of time.[4][5]

He was also revered by the extremist branch of the Orc cult of Trinimac, the Vosh Rakh and his blessings were bestowed during the ritual of the Gauntlet. They believed that to accept the blessing of Avalian is to embrace the guidance of Trinimac's swiftness and akin to becoming one with the wind.[4][5]
