Command effectEdit

(moved to Oblivion_talk:Command_Humanoid#Consolidation of tips (Command Humanoid/Creature))
You are eagerly defending the current state of having one tips on Command Humanoid, different tips on Command Creature. You are going strongly against consolidating and clarification on them. Don't you thinks it's a bit absurd?
Slider2k 09:37, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm trying to avoid having the same discussion on three pages. rpeh •TCE 09:46, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Well, it's a bit of a personal question here. And I'm still waiting for an answer on it.
Slider2k 10:07, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
I think the tips you're adding are a waste of bandwidth. Does that answer your question? rpeh •TCE 10:13, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
Actually, no. Answer why are you defending current state. And oppose the work on consolidating tips on both pages.
Slider2k 10:30, 1 September 2011 (UTC)
I will answer whatever questions I choose, when I choose to answer them. I've told you to take this to the article's talk page. Do so now. rpeh •TCE 10:40, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

Quick question!Edit

Hey Rpeh! I just made a Linkable Entry to a Dead Zombie (this edit), using the same method as we use on Oblivion:Notes - but I'm unsure if linking to the ID is the right/correct way to link to creatures, even dead ones with the same "name"? --Krusty 22:14, 1 September 2011 (UTC)

It's probably right, although it might not be necessary. Do you need to link specifically to that one? rpeh •TCE 07:11, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Haha, it's not really necessary - while rewriting Unfinished Business I happened to write the words "dead zombie" and realized that it was awkward to link to a regular zombie, simply because the dead ones are found a long way down the list. A bit unnecessary, perhaps, but I've always liked linking to these sections - maybe because details like a "dead zombie" tends to be overlooked? Still, if it seems like overkill, I'll just remove my dead zombie as I tend to agree. :) --Krusty 07:29, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Well you'd still have to link to Oblivion:Undead#DeadZombie123456 or whatever, so it's not any easier. I'll leave it up to you. rpeh •TCE 07:45, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

It's about time...Edit

Map Link TemplateEdit

From an anon on this talk page, the map links are not working right in some cases. The map only works in www, others like content3 make it impossible to use. I traced this back to the Map Link. I can't see through all that coding, but something should probably be changed. It only seems to start though if you are in content1, content2, or content3 to begin with. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 05:42, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I've added a hack that should sort it out. Not elegant, but it'll do the job. rpeh •TCE 09:04, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Looks pretty good. :D What kind of programming is that anyway? --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 16:31, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I think a few templates got a bit over-complicated, but it works okay for now. rpeh •TCE 16:46, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Cats on added factionsEdit

Hey, thanks for cleaning up behind me ;) Is it standard practice to avoid adding categories for factions that are added successively? --SerCenKing Talk 10:03, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Actually, it's standard practice not to include the new factions in the infobox at all (see Hieronymus Lex for instance), but I think we might want to change that. rpeh •TCE 10:47, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, I think it's better to include all info if possible. I was basing my edits on Nephele's edit to Falcar's page. Thanks for the heads up in any case. --SerCenKing Talk 12:30, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
Interesting - if we have two different styles then we definitely need to sort out the "right" way of doing it. rpeh •TCE 12:34, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
This is good question. Just to provide another example, check out Audens Avidius’ page. Here, we have a good explanation of the faction changes as the “story” progresses, and I really like that technique. Looking at it again, I realize that all his factions (as far as I know) are included in the NPC summary, even ones he does not initially belong to. Maybe it would be better to list all factions (including ones the NPC will join later), without too much storytelling, in the NPC summary? --Krusty 17:52, 3 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm going to continue this on the project talk page - here. rpeh •TCE 17:56, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Tamold?Edit

I saw this in the drop menu to sort recent changes. I found a few mentions in archives and gathered that they were deleted a while ago, but I have no idea what this space was. --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 17:19, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

You have to go back a bit for this one. In Ye Olde Days, the Lore namespace was called Tamriel. This was considered to be a Bad Thing, because we ended up with pages like Tamriel:Akavir, which is clearly stupid. So we had a big ol' project to move pages from one to the other. Later on, Nephele discovered that we could have done it much more easily with aliases, but it was too late by then. Tamriel got renamed to Tamold, and Tamriel became an alias for Lore, so that even now Tamriel:Akavir is a working link - it's a bit like Image becoming File - so Image:Wiki.png works as well as File:Wiki.png.
For purely historical reasons, it's probably a good idea to keep the Tamold namespace around, but it's totally useless these days. rpeh •TCE 17:33, 3 September 2011 (UTC)

Creature imagesEdit

I noticed a good chunk of creature images are currently incorrectly named. I was going to point out them on the talk page until I realized there were so many. Since I cannot move files, it might be a job for you or RoBoT. Elliot (talk) 17:37, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll see about moving those at some point. Shouldn't be too tricky, I hope. rpeh •TCE 18:06, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Meh. Used on too many pages, so I'll skip doing that. rpeh •TCE 18:46, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
It's a gigantic cleanup-job, but I think I'll do it anyway. One question, though -are we certain that the Category is complete? --Krusty 19:40, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
No, not by a long shot. Everything in Images Copyrighted by UESP is in a proper category, but there's a lot of stuff in Images Copyrighted by Bethesda that needs checking. A lot of those images (but definitely not all of them) need moving to the former category, and there's a lot of images that currently don't have any category other than a copyright tag, and it's possible there are some creatures in there. There can't be too many though. rpeh •TCE 19:55, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Haha, well - guess we have to start somewhere. Things seems quiet this evening, so I'll just go ahead. Hit me on IRC if anything goes wrong. --Krusty 20:10, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Hey, rpeh - if you have the time, can you crosscheck What Links Here when I prod the redirects? I just had two links on the Auroran.jpg that I couldn't locate and change. Thanks! --Krusty 20:26, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, I've taken care of those two - the links were on transclusions. I'll check the rest when you're done. rpeh •TCE 20:36, 5 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, that was some of them. Just for the record, a few gave me trouble, due to transcluded links: File:OB-Creature-Umaril the Unfeathered.jpg and File:OB-KotNauroran.jpg. I’ll continue tomorrow. Phew, that was bigger than expected, but neat to get done! --Krusty 22:25, 5 September 2011 (UTC)

File format for "solo"-creatures?Edit

A question popped up during my on-going rename-spree. When it comes to creatures with their own pages (e.g. Oblivion:Blossom), we are not terribly consistent with the image formats; some of them are square, some of them 4:3, others 16:9 and so on. I changed a few of the 16:9-ones, but do we have a standard format for these pages? My suggestion would be 4:3 images, simply because the info tends to be limited.. This COULD be a CP-discussion, but I wanted to ask if there has been a previous discussion about this before? --Krusty 08:01, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

I don't believe we've ever had a discussion about those. I had always assumed they should be 1:1 because creatures are most similar to NPCs, but I'm not really committed one way or the other. rpeh •TCE 08:09, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

A question?Edit

As someone who as been on been on the UESP for a while I have a question for you, if you don't mind. I wanted to upload a screenshot I took of my character just to put on my user page and I was curious if you could provide to me on my Talk page a quick walkthrough of how that could be accomplished. Thank you, sir. Sn0L3prd 17:21, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Pretty much everything you need is on the Help:Images page. If there's anything else you need to know, ask again. rpeh •TCE 17:29, 6 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks. That was extremely helpful. Sn0L3prd 18:12, 6 September 2011 (UTC)

Davide Surilie QuestionsEdit

Hey Rpeh! You’ve probably noticed I’m investigating Glarthir these days, and I have discovered an oddity (or an exception to a schedule, if you will), courtesy of Davide Surilie. If you show Davide the note of death, Davide will take matters into his own hands, run all the way to Glarthir and kill him on the spot. Neither Bernadette nor Toutius will do this (they will both ask you to talk to a guard). Even stranger, when I showed Davide the note he said this: "So he has finally snapped! I knew we should have warned the guards back when I noticed him trying to break into my house ... This has gone far enough. It's past time I dealt with this madman once and for all." Problem is, on my dialogue sheet these lines are not unique to him (attached to “male Breton”) – but then again, maybe they are? When you have the time, can you check this mystery in the CS? Thanks! --Krusty 21:47, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

That line is assigned to Gaston and Davide, never knew this either ~ Dwarfmp 21:54, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, it is actually mentioned here. Should probably be included on both Davide and Gaston's pages - I'll see to that when I'm done with Glarthir himself. --Krusty 22:14, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

MentorshipEdit

Hello Rpeh: If it is convenient for you, I would be very interested in receiving a bit of mentoring here on the wiki. I'd like to start out modestly, improving articles' grammar and language then work my way into formatting, etc. once I get comfortable with the way things are properly done. If there is any advice you might be able to give to help me along, I would be most grateful. Otherwise, I'll be picking through Getting Started and Help:Contents to see what damage I can do... Axxchor 22:13, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for asking! The best thing to do is start looking through those pages and then come back with any questions.
My earliest contributions were all image-based. I noticed that some pages had a {{NeedsImage}} tag and some didn't, so I first started adding the tags, and then it occurred to me that I could make the images myself. If you want to start with grammar fixes, the random page link should help, or you might want to be more methodical, in which case going through all the Oblivion Places pages, or Morrowind NPC pages would be the way to go.
For now, let me welcome you to the wiki. Let me know if there's anything specific I can do to help. rpeh •TCE 23:53, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Your advice is already very helpful. You saw the grammatical changes I made to the Lore:Skooma page. I will take up your suggestion for working with images as well. Thank you! I will be sure to ask questions when I get baffled. Axxchor 19:29, 9 September 2011 (UTC)

Random name generatorEdit

What is the random name generator and how do I use it? Is it in the CS? FokkerTI|SM (email) 02:28, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

It's a hypothetical tool that we think Bethesda uses to generate names for NPCs (and possibly places), but it's not available to the public. I assume they use such a tool because of the similarities between various names that have cropped up in both Morrowind and Oblivion. The Tamriel Rebuilt project uses such a generator, so I know it's possible. rpeh •TCE 07:27, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

hero pageEdit

what was the reason for the revert? its seems some wiki users here are going out of their way to only have half the information and disregard the rest. the hero of kvatch joining the knights of the nine and visiting the realm of madness is as much of a choice as joining the guilds, why refuse to include the dark brotherhood, fighters guild, mage's guild and the thieves guild or if you lot ain't going to add them then delete the sheogorath and knights of the nine part as they are not part of the main storyline anymore than the guilds are. the player as the option of choosing multiple paths so please stop being biased by only adding some of them. if no good reason is given for the revert then i will edit it again unless given a good reason why it shouldn't be changed. 86.179.236.182 13:57, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Thievery and murder are not heroic. If you edit war, you'll be blocked. rpeh •TCE 14:08, 10 September 2011 (UTC)
The SI questline is the main quest of the expansion, and should be included. The KotN is more of a half-baked expansion than it is a plug-in, so it can be considered "main" as well. Side questlines aren't included on the heroes page due to the many conflicts, but the events are certainly documented elsewhere. You should bring your concerns up on the article's talk page next time to avoid edit warring. --Legoless 14:21, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Removal of StarkRealityXX items from IC Tutorial pageEdit

Those items are in Vanilla Oblivion as well: make like you're going to create a new character then TCL under the prison. They're there. FokkerTISM (email) 01:54, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Oh yes. I was looking for NPCs, not statics. In any case, they shouldn't be mentioned on the quest page - and aren't really worth mentioning on the place page. There's all sorts of stuff beneath floors but it's really not notable. rpeh •TCE 10:50, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

FCOMEdit

Hi there

if you remove "nonsense" I wrote, could you please add some info that the homepage and download page are outdated? It's gets very confusing when you try to rely on the information given by the official page... — Unsigned comment by 87.167.191.136 (talk) on 11 September 2011

Your edit broke several wiki rules. First person usage, personal opinion, etc, etc. Thanks for updating the RELZ link, but beyond that it was all disposable. rpeh •TCE 13:34, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
I'm sorry if I broke some of the rules, but IMHO it's better than no information at all about the current state of the project/homepage. Just updating the forum link doesn't give the reader a clue that this should be the primary source of information 87.167.191.136 13:41, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
The forum page directs people back to UESP. If you have a problem with the content, please take it up with the FCOM team on the forum. rpeh •TCE 13:45, 11 September 2011 (UTC)

Skyrim wiki.Edit

I've attempted to contact Ausir on multiple occasions about his incompetent admins and the constant copy/pasting of article content and images from here, what more can be done? The admins refuse to acknowledge their idiocy and continue dragging their feet on the issue. The only remotely acceptable admin on the site has been absent for weeks and the others do nothing but argue the issue with those of us that complain to them.

I realize you probably aren't the person to complain to, however, you seem to be the only one that's actively campaigning against the idiocy. Redacted 12:33, 12 September 2011 (UTC)

If you find any actual articles that are copied, please just blank them straight away. I mark images with their "delete" template, but I think I'm going to start uploading a blank image over them instead.
I contacted Wikia's staff about it, and they posted a message that the admins are too useless to do anything about. If they can't be bothered about copyright, it's going to be up to us to do it ourselves. rpeh •TCE 12:45, 12 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't know if you've seen this [1] but if you haven't it's worth reading. Kidtragic freely admits that he's attempting to exploit a loophole in uesp's copyright policy. He completely ignores the fact that Timeoin agrees with Rpeh, and then finishes off by saying that he was gossiping with Kacj about the whole matter. He also claims that he never even attempted to take credit for any images from uesp, completely contradicting what he said a few lines before. Then there's another post underneath saying that one user wants to make their site better than uesp because the users are friendlier. He's obviously never met Kacj before! 86.42.17.91 06:31, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I saw that. Kidtragic is well named. My replies to him were all deleted, but he seems to have gone now anyway, which is good. rpeh •TCE 08:52, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

I noticed that you added categories to the images I addedEdit

Was I supposed to do that? Sorry, I didn't know. I'll take note of it in the future. Ongoingwhy 10:04, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

We're trying to categorize all our images now. If you remember, please add any other new ones to Category:Morrowind-Scroll Inscriptions (or Category:Bloodmoon-Scroll Inscriptions or whatever). Don't worry about not having done it, though. rpeh •TCE 10:06, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Just a Small SpotEdit

I just noticed something as I skimmed through the recent changes, and i noticed the few blocks you have made in the last few hours. It says in the edit summary (or block summary) that the I.P's where blocked for '1 Year', however on the Block Notice on the relative talk page all those I clicked on said 'Indefinitely'. Was this intentional or not? Just noticed and I thought i'd ask :) --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:24, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Feel free to correct those if you like. I forgot that's in the default message. rpeh •TCE 19:28, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
To 1 Year instead of indefinite? I'll sit and do them now :) --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:33, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes - to 1 year. We don't indef IPs any more. Accounts are still indef blocked though. rpeh •TCE 19:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Done those I could see, i'm having a further scout back. I don't think i'll find many though --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:40, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

() Another spot when looking through recent changes a lot of accounts recently all contain 14 characters. And these are (from what I can see) the only ones getting blocked, is there a connection or is it just me looking for one?--KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:10, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

There's a discussion about the latest spam wave here. 14 ch may or may not be significant, but we can't block all 14-char names. rpeh •TCE 20:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I know that would be fairly ridiculous. It was an observation :) could of been just something to look for. And another unrelated note, is it possible to leave a gap (the same effect gain by leaving blank lines) with in text in wiki mark up or HTML tags? --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:15, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean. rpeh •TCE 20:20, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Instead of doing this - (the two blank spaces)

Would it be possible to achieve the same effect so my edit windows on my user page (and Kitkats which I am now doing) aren't 5 miles long (exaggeration) . E.g. using a HTML tags or wiki markup to gain this effect in a shorter space. --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:34, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
Look, I'm sorry but I really have no idea what you're asking. If you're talking about spacing, Google CSS and look at margins and padding. If not... I'm sorry, but I'm obviously not in any kind of empathic mood tonight. rpeh •TCE 20:43, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

It's alright, i'll Wikipedia help file it. They seem to have everything on request. I'm on my phone so i can't do loads :/ thanks for the help anyways :) --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 20:46, 15 September 2011 (UTC)
You can do line breaks with a </br> tag. Elliot (talk) 23:28, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

GlarthirEdit

Hey Rpeh! On my way back to the PS3 (at least for the weekend) and I want to spend my free time finishing the Glarthir page. There are not too many problems, but a few questions arise – no worries, you don’t have to read through the entire thing. Hope you can find the time! Here goes:

  • In this section it states that it is possible for Glarthir to get “arrested”. Is that even true? Ive tried several outcomes, and he gets killed every time – if the info is false, will it make any of the dialogue in the section obsolete?
  • Ive added a few bugs, all of them poorly worded and based on guesswork - can you take a quick look in the CS for better explanations?

That’s all – thanks in advance, and no rush! --Krusty 11:00, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

I'll take a look now. rpeh •TCE 11:14, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
He never gets arrested. That bit of dialogue simply means he didn't kill anyone before being killed himself. The bugs look okay though. rpeh •TCE 11:28, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the tweaks! The bug about him equipping his axe after the Surilie conversation, is that even valid? --Krusty 13:57, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
I... think so. rpeh •TCE 23:25, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, lastly I found a surprisingly small amount of missing dialogue; can you do your thing and check the conditions and - maybe - why they are absent from the game? Again, thanks in advance - this will finish the Glarthir nightmare forever; when I'm done only factions remains for checking! Here are the lines:
  • "You fool! You'll ruin everything! We can't be seen talking together! Um, no, I don't know the way to the Imperial City. You'll have to ask someone else."
  • "Oh... I see. Then it was you that... In any case, there's no need to meet me again until you've finished... the job. Safer that way. Then I will pay you in full what I promised."
  • "I knew he was the ringleader of the whole conspiracy! You may have helped save my life!"
--Krusty 00:12, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Looking in the CS (and not checking anything in game) I'd say the following:
  • "You fool!" happens if you talk to Glarthir after meeting him for the first time but before you meet him behind the chapel.
  • I don't think "Oh... I see." can actually happen.
  • I don't think "I knew he was the ringleader..." can happen either.
File:OB-audio-Glarthir David Surilie.ogg and File:OB-audio-Glarthir-In Progress.ogg contain the missing audio. rpeh •TCE 10:30, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks! I decided to skip the "You fool"-line completely. It is merely a merge between two other lines and I couldn't make it happen in-game - and the page is more than massive anyway. Everything is finished and page is launched, with only factions left to check. If you decide to go ahead and check it, note that a "Generic Owner Faction" is mentioned and I have no idea what that is. Oh, and if you DO decide to finish the page, I'd be a happy camper! Thanks for the help! --Krusty 12:54, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Luminary KazEdit

Hey rpeh, quick question. I've just checked Luminary Kaz and was having trouble with his faction. According to "SERakheranScript", once Ra'kheran and the traitors attack Ciirta, she and Kaz will be 'dropped' a rank or two from the SE11Apostle faction:

SECiirtaRef.SetFactionRank SE11ApostleFaction -1
SE11Apostle05Ref.SetFactionRank SE11ApostleFaction -1 (x2)

Since the faction has only Rank 0, does this mean they are removed from the faction or what? I'm assuming negative ranks don't exist ;) --SerCenKing Talk 11:42, 16 September 2011 (UTC)

Yup, setting the rank to -1 removes the NPC from the faction. rpeh •TCE 12:37, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for that. Also, if you're not feeling particularly busy, these two lovely ladies are just waiting to be finished ;) --SerCenKing Talk 13:52, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
Dylora is not really finished yet. We need to add all rumors from Adeo and the other Dark Seducers - so basically, there's not even an author yet! --Krusty 23:42, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

Keep getting logged out while editingEdit

Are the cookies set to expire while inactive? Or is this a problem with some browsers? I am using Google Chrome.
OngoingwhyTalk 10:35, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

It's all part of the MediaWiki software - nothing we can do about it. By "logged out" do you mean that you're getting a "loss of session data" message, which does happen if you spend a long time in an edit window, or are you actually being turned back into an IP? rpeh •TCE 10:43, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Both actually. The "loss of session data" message only happened once. I got logged out(turned back into an IP) 4-5 times. They happened during the last 12 hours.
OngoingwhyTalk 10:46, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Well with the session data one you can just re-save the page and you'll probably be okay. The other one is more likely to be a browser setting. I don't use Chrome much, but there might be some cookie expiration setting somewhere. It's nothing at the server end though. rpeh •TCE 10:51, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
I just checked the expiration dates for the cookies. They should expire in one month's time. The funny thing is that I need to login every single time I open uesp.net. I will look around to see if Google Chrome has a setting somewhere that resets my cookie every time I close a tab or something.
OngoingwhyTalk 11:11, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Found the setting and unchecked it. I hope that fixes the problem. Thanks for helping.
OngoingwhyTalk 11:12, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
I hope so too! Good luck. rpeh •TCE 11:19, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Nope, it didn't work. I just got logged out again.
OngoingwhyTalk 18:47, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
I can only suggest you try a different browser. It's certainly not a wiki setting. rpeh •TCE 18:50, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
Just on a side note, I use Google chrome and it doesn't sign me out. Nor do I have to sign in every time I come to the site. There is a setting to do with cancelling cookies when you close a window. So that could be it, but other than that I don't know. Hope that narrowed it down a bit.--KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 18:55, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
You mean this option? "Clear cookies and other site and plug-in data when I close my browser" I already disabled it though. I think I'll switch to Firefox and see how it works out.
OngoingwhyTalk 18:58, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

() Could be a good try, it might narrow it down slightly. And by disabled do you mean so theres a dot there, or so that there isn't. On mine there isn't a dot. --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:01, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

You need to tick the "Allow local data to be set (recommended)" option and leave the others unchecked. If you don't want to do that, set up an exception for www.uesp.net and see if that works. rpeh •TCE 19:02, 17 September 2011 (UTC)
I don't have a dot there. I have "Allow local data to be set (recommended)" enabled and the rest disabled. I found something regarding this. It seems that I am not the only one who's having trouble with Google Chrome. [[2]] Also, I've tested Firefox and I am not logged out every time I close the browser.

Monobook change requestEdit

Can you add the following to MediaWiki:Monobook.css?

div.thumb.tnone {
   border-color: #FCFFF0 !important;
}

It fixes the weird coloring around the Featured Image on the main page. Thanks. Elliot (talk) 03:47, 19 September 2011 (UTC)

Done. I'm not quite sure what you mean, so I'll leave it to you to see if it's worked. rpeh •TCE 08:21, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
The cellpadding, if you want to call it that, with images was off colored on the main page. Now it's messed up on other pages. There's a way to single it out to one page, but I am not sure how to do that for the main page. It utilizes the following:
.page-MAIN_Main Page div.thumb.tnone {
   border-color: #FCFFF0 !important;
}
Gah, it's just something minor, but it needs to be fixed. I'll do some more testing around. Elliot (talk) 00:23, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, it's this:
.page-Main_Page div.thumb.tnone {
   border-color: #FCFFF0 !important;
}
That should fix the weird image spacing color on the main page and just the main page. Elliot (talk) 00:37, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Still not sure what you're trying to do here, and that's even valid CSS syntax... what exactly is "weird" about the "spacing color" on the main page? Tell me and I can try to fix it. rpeh •TCE 08:09, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
Here you go. The border (where the black is) was the color of the tan on the borders. I figured it was pretty noticeable... maybe I'm just anal. Elliot (talk) 00:04, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
I had never noticed until I read your earlier post. xD I don't see what's wrong now though... --DKong27 Tk Ctr Em 01:55, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Good grief - I've never seen it do that before! What browser are you using??? rpeh •TCE 02:22, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

() No, it wasn't black. I just exaggerated it to show emphasis. It was a different color tan. It's fixed now though... Haha Elliot (talk) 03:22, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Quest Articles StyleEdit

"There are some valuable Dwemer items, such as a Dwemer spear, Dwemer coins and other various Dwemer cups, goblets and cogs so while you're here, take anything you can get your hands on in the rooms you've explored; you should net a fair amount of gold."

Some of the Morrowind quest articles are mixed with the opinions of the editor. Should I change them to be more factual? Also, instead of focusing on giving important information, the articles seem to be telling the readers what to do.
OngoingwhyTalk 09:54, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Yeah the Morrowind articles tend to be older and freer in style because they're older. Extra loot shouldn't generally be mentioned on quest pages - it should go on place pages. If you're removing stuff, make sure it's mentioned somewhere else (unless it's really irrelevant). rpeh •TCE 10:01, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Amulet of KingsEdit

I have been making a list of Quest Items, and during listing the Amulet I couldn't find a ID number. Well Krusty pointed me to the bottom of the Amulets of Kings page where I found a ID Number. But for a version that can be equipped. The ID number is 000250A0. Is this the ID Number for a version that can be equipped and if so what is the ID for the version the player find. I tried to make it as clear as i could, sorry if it isn't phrased brilliantly --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 18:40, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

There's only one version of the AoK, and it's the one you just mentioned. There is no version that can be equipped by the player. rpeh •TCE 19:35, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Ahh, ok :) Thanks it must be forced on the player if you console 'add.item'. I'll add that to my list. --KizC ·•· Talk ·•· Contribs ·•· Mail ·•· 19:40, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Yes, I think that should work. There's a script that gets fired when you try to equip it, but using the console should bypass that. rpeh •TCE 20:08, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Broken traps on maps?Edit

Hey rpeh! I don’t know if you noticed this discussion on SerC’s page, but it seems we have a small problem with broken traps – in that we don’t really know what to do with them. Should broken traps be displayed on the maps and content lists? Should the entire trap be removed and ignored from the article(s)? A bug note perhaps? Any input will be appreciated, because it may be wrong to mark the maps for cleanup. Thanks in advance! --Krusty 21:03, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

I'm going to say "No" to marking them on maps, but "Yes" to including a bug note. That's just my view though. Now Nephele's back in da house, it'll be interesting to hear her opinions on this kind of thing. rpeh •TCE 23:54, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
I'd agree with rpeh -- although I haven't thought about this type of issue in a long time. --NepheleTalk 23:00, 24 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, Neph. From what I understand, we'll remove the map markers and add a bug note, which sounds like the best solution to me as well. I'll get to work right away and inform SerC. Oh, and Rob - there is another map-related question for you here - hopefully a bit more simple... --Krusty 23:07, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Exploitable GlitchesEdit

Can you please explain why you undid my edit on the Exploitable Glitches page? And if it was ABSOLUTELY necessary, perhaps suggest a way to phrase it that does not use "far too much" detail? I think it's probably an important thing to let people know. SkoomaManiac 12:05, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Sorry but it's really not that important, and certainly not worthy of inclusion on a general glitches page. rpeh •TCE 12:41, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
I will add it to the bugs section on the Dawnfang/Duskfang page then. It's important enough that it should be included somewhere. SkoomaManiac 16:49, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
I really wish you wouldn't. The duplication glitch is... a glitch. Saying there's a bug in a glitch is silly. It's not that important. If you're going to cheat and duplicate items, expect things to go wrong. rpeh •TCE 17:07, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Ida VlinormanEdit

Yeah, another question from me. Seems like my “productive” weekend is infested with bugs. Nevertheless, I have s problem with Ida Vlinorman. I wrote down her entire schedule and everything went fine until it was time to check her trip to Chorrol. Naturally, like all other traveling NPCs, she left the IC at midnight on the 3rd, but then something strange happened. At 9am the next morning she left The Gray Mare and went back to the Imperial City. Legoless was on the IRC and told me about a weird “Arena” package and came to the conclusion that she’d only go to the Arena when she was inside The Gray Mare, meaning that this may be a leftover from the days of “other” Arena’s.

However, I just checked the Imperial City arena (using my bag of in-game tricks) and she arrived there on the 3rd. just after 3pm. Now, this is a bug in itself, but this is even worse: the moment she entered the Arena, she turned around and went back to Chorrol. Lego told me the Arena package was supposed to run until 5pm, so I’m very confused right now. I know I'm asking multiple questions here, but in short: can you take a look at this chaos in the CS? Thanks in advance – I promise I’ll return to Copenhagen soon! :D --Krusty 18:25, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

Legoless is basically right - and so are you. The two packages involved are IdaVlinormanVisitChorrol and IdaVlinormanVisitChorrolArena. The first one is supposed to cause her to head for The Grey Mare at 9am on the 3rd, but there's the usual start time bug. The package lasts for 36 hours, and that's crucial. The other package kicks off at 9am as long as she's in the Grey Mare and lasts for 8 hours, and sends her to the cell ChorrolArena. The trouble is that ChorrolArena is now in the IC, so she heads off back there. So she heads to Chorrol, gets to 9am, heads to the IC arena, then heads back to Chorrol because the 36 hours aren't up yet. It's yet more proof that an arena was in Chorrol at one point. rpeh •TCE 20:20, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
What a curious bug! I’ll attempt to write a bug note when I add her schedule, even if it sounds a bit complicated. I did some more testing, and the package basically means she will travel back and forth twice from the Gray Mare, making her another traveling NPC with an increased chance of getting herself killed. Luckily, she will return to the Imperial City for good at midnight on the 5th – for a second, I thought we had another Alessia Caro on our hands. --Krusty 20:46, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

If you get any timeEdit

I Hear From, That you can read script if you get any time could you please look at this

Begin Crushing_Weight

OnPCEquip
if ( OnPCEquip == 1 )
set OnPCEquip to 0
endif

; Checks for Crushing Weight

if ( player->GetEndurance < 100 )
Player->Sethealth 0
messageBox, "You Have been crushed by Crushing Weight"

; Kills player if endurance is less then 100

End

it is supposed to kill the pc if he/she equips it when he/she has less then 100 endurance and seeing as this is my first script ever I have no idea if it would work----Candc4, Also known as the Man Inside the Sexy Leather Pants CT 19:27, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Bloodmoon Image RequestsEdit

If you're ever back in Morrowind, would you mind taking four images from Bloodmoon? The first two are to do with the main quest, so might be a pain to take: an image of the dead horkers along the coast, and the Bloodmoon itself (similar to this image, I would imagine). I'd also like a picture of the Snow Prince's remains and of the skeleton on the ceiling of Frykte. There's absolutely no rush for the images (they're for lore pages, but could also be used in gamespace). Just whenever you find it convenient. Thanks! --Legoless 22:05, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Will do. rpeh •TCE 22:26, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Okay, The Blood Moon; Dead Horkers v1; Dead Horkers v2; The Snow Prince's Armor; Angria's remains; More remains in Frykte. If there are some you don't want for Lore, see if they're useful in BM itself. If not, prod 'em. I hope those are okay. rpeh •TCE 23:21, 27 September 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, they're great! I haven't used the night shot of the horkers, but I haven't prodded it either, in case it could be used somewhere else. --Legoless 19:29, 28 September 2011 (UTC)
I almost didn't upload that one, but all the white on the image almost made it usable so I thought I'd see which you preferred. Glad you liked the others though! rpeh •TCE 19:37, 28 September 2011 (UTC)

Mod HelpEdit

I'm having trouble getting all of working properly together...: FCOM(OOO+MMM+Fran+Warcry) Wyre Bash Loot All Armor Darker Dungeons

I followed the guide for installing FCOM, and stuff with Wyre Bash. Those seem to work fine. My main problems now are related to Darker Dungeons's actual darkness problem. importing the cell data into the bashed patch doesn't help at all.. Also, Loot All Armors isn't working either. It's most likely caused by all of MMM,Fran,OOO, and FCOM itself, but I have no way of being sure.

Any information or help is appreciated, Thank you.

I'm going to post my load order

InsultsEdit

Mind taking a look at this Sandbox? Also, take a look at the conversations under FGD02Insults in the CS. I'm assuming that these work by having someone randomly shout one, and having them reply with a random insult aimed at the person that insulted them. However, this is a bit confusing. Mind giving these a look to see how they work? --AKB Talk Cont Mail 06:27, 29 September 2011 (UTC)

Wow, that's a lot of dialogue that I don't think I've ever heard. I'll take a look at that later and let you know. rpeh •TCE 06:51, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Ah, that looks good! All the dialogue appears in the game and is completely random. The article of Witseidutsei definitely needs all dialogue related to the quest (and I guess the three drunks needs it as well), only question is; how to put it on the pages? --Krusty 07:57, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
It's an interesting and tricky bit of scripting, controlled by FGD02Script. Basically, as long as FGD02DandD is >= stage 10 and < stage 80, that script picks a random number from 1-4 for the speaker then picks a random number from 1-5 for the target: 1=Vantus; 2=Rellian; 3=Dubok; 4=Witseidutsei; 5=Player. If the two numbers are the same, it picks the target again and again until they aren't. The script then causes the speaker to say a line from the FGD02Insults topic to the target, and sets a timer to ensure that only one person will be insulting somebody at once. Even though some of the insults look like they're supposed to go together, there's nothing to control that - it's one insult at once and no followups. Tricky coding, but quite a cute way of doing it. rpeh •TCE 15:39, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
Huh. Well, I guess that makes sense. It seems like the AKB from the distant past had the right idea when he wrote the dialogue for Witseidutsei. Maybe just a minor tweak to the way I listed the insults their to point out who they're directed at. Thanks for the help, I should be able to get these guys done by tomorrow with this info. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 16:12, 29 September 2011 (UTC)
