Collatinus VediusEdit

I have re-written Collatinus Vedius's ONPCRP page. I hope that it is up to standards and thank you for guiding me to getting it right and up to the UESP standards. Got milk? 10:37, 31 July 2009 (UTC)

That's much better! Thanks. –rpehTCE 07:46, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Ice WarriorsEdit

Rpeh, you seem to be the main Shadowkey guy around, and I never played it, so I have some questions concerning it. If you have some time, please tell me: What are the 'pros' and 'cons' of the theory of the ice warriors being the falmer? How was this theory brough up? And finally, sopposing they are not Falmers, what are they? I heard that Shadowkey was made by the same developers of Morrowind, so I think this theory makes sense. --Max Welrod 05:46, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

The theory seems to have come from this edit by the other main contributor to the SK space. Is it true? Well the area is totally ice-bound, which fits with the known habitat of the Falmer. The model name for the Ice Warriors is "orc_ice_warrior", which suggests at least some connection with mer. They are definitely coloured blue, like the Rieklings, and Glacier Crawl isn't too far away from Skyrim, where the Falmer are reputed to have lived. On the other hand, the word "Falmer" does not appear anywhere in Shadowkey and so it's a bit of a flight of fantasy.
If they aren't Falmer, they could be some offshoot of the orcs, adapted for the cold. So in summary, there's no evidence that they are Falmer, but then there's no evidence that they aren't. –rpehTCE 06:50, 6 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. And thanks for the thing you said about the foruns in my talk page too. --Max Welrod 10:51, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Something for your helpEdit

Help with basic editingEdit

rpeh, I don't know if you remember, but Temple-Zero said I coud flag the Kothringi page as lacking reference. Hou do I do that? I'm not very good at wiki editing. --Max Welrod 03:42, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Add a cleanup template to the article - there are instructions on the template itself. Make sure you indicate why cleanup is necessary. Of course, if you feel like it, adding the references would be even better! –rpehTCE 04:33, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

oblivion great heistEdit

hi you know when u get in the big room where you have 2 push them blocks 2 open the gate well i push one and then the other but nothing is happening i have been tryin to do it for hours can u help please or tell me an easyier way 2 do it (86.143.23.238 16:13, 8 August 2009 (UTC))

I don't know why that wouldn't work. Try again to make sure you've definitely pushed them both, but other than that I have no suggestions. –rpehTCE 18:47, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

The quick UNDO without a bit of thought for the edits I madeEdit

RPEH: I would appreciate it if you took a little more time to review edits before deciding to wholly discard them... especially when you do it TWICE!!!

I'm new. I'm now discouraged. I have a different opinion than you do about the need for those comments in the articles... the loot problem is a HUGE problem at Sundercliff. I had roughly around 8000 lbs of loot I cleared out after running through it again tonight. It's on a totally different scale than any other "dungeon" in the game. I was attempting to satisfy what had been marked for cleanup on the main pages and to bring a little clarity to it all. The walkthrough for Sundercliff needs some pointers about where to stop and stash your loot worse than any other place in the game. I spent HOURS moving loot around my first time through Sundercliff. I'm trying to help newer players avoid wasting hours like I did. Also, throwing away the wrist irons is a big mistake I made my first time through since they're the only item in the game that isn't armor that can be used as gauntlets/bracers/gloves. That's a big deal if you're playing a mage. Especially since they're zero weight and you can't get them anywhere else. A nice little note addition about them would be helpful to the new player.

NOW, I'm going to undo your undo for the second time... since we're rapidly approaching the three-undo rule and neither of us wants to get banned -- let's talk this out and I'll be happy to edit or modify the information I've added to be appropriate.

Let me state this clearly: I believe the information I added is EXTREMELY helpful to the new player (who hasn't played Oblivion more than once or twice). I can understand how you might feel it isn't important -- but this site isn't really supposed to be for the people who have played the game 20 times, is it? It's for the folks going through it the first or second time.--ACGrecor 07:19, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Do NOT undo that edit again. That is edit warring and is not acceptable. –rpehTCE 07:20, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
YOU undid MY edit twice. You started any "edit warring" -- not me. Read my comments, let's talk about this before you just automatically revert the pages. This is good, meaningful, useful information. Perhaps it needs to be EDITED to make it fit the site style better -- but I contend it needs to be there. Also, your one-line answers show no thought or consideration for why I put that information in there or why it might be useful in particular. Please be more specific about why you feel that information shouldn't be in there now that I've explained fairly clearly why I believe it should.--ACGrecor 07:31, 9 August 2009 (UTC)
This debate is taking place on your talk page. Please only reply there. –rpehTCE 07:40, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

Snippy??Edit

Umm, sorry, but I fail to see what about my comment warranted your advice that I had "No need to get snippy". I chose to respond here instead of causing the discussion on Daveh's page to be diverted completely off-topic.

I was simply providing feedback since I did't understand the relevance of a point you had made in your previous comment. If you chose to read non-existent emotional sub-context into my comment, I'm not sure why I should be held responsible. Not to mention that adding personal comments to discussions should generally be avoided, since personal comments do not help to address any of the original issues and are likely to side-track the discussion. --NepheleTalk 20:09, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

And again. I've been around UESP long enough to recognize "Fail to see" as a Nephele subtext for "Your edit was worthless". The point I made was perfectly clear: editors from several sites based on MediaWiki have raised concerns about MW's file-handling, including Daveh, in the link I provided. I don't know why you're getting so defensive about MW but don't take it out on me. –rpehTCE 20:16, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Spirit pageEdit

Hi, do you think a page containing all spirits you can talk to on oblivion would be a good idea for a page? Spirits. for example, like sir amiel, or limirk? thanks~ --Arch-Mage Matt 01:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Sir Amiel and Limark are from different games so they wouldn't appear on the same page anyway. I also don't think a full page is necessary. Maybe a category though. –rpehTCE 04:59, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

...so would it be a good idea for me to start it?--Arch-Mage Matt 22:36, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Jobasha Receipt on Mehrunes' RazorEdit

The receipt is part of a book and can be found here: http://www.imperial-library.info/obbooks/dl9nefarivigumlore.shtml Apophis2412 07:51, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

No it's not. We have the book, but the receipt is a separate note that seems not to have been added yet. I'm concerned that if we don't have that one, we might have missed other things too. –rpehTCE 07:54, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Clavicus Vile's QuestEdit

Hi there Rpeh. You seem to be a very knowledgable person about Oblivion, so I wanted to ask you this question: Is it better to return Umbra's Sword or keep it for yourself? Will that count against me if I want to get all the artifacts? Thanks, Razorflame 18:48, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

There's no definitive answer to that question. Umbra is a great sword, but Goldbrand is pretty good, and if you look at this page there are plenty of other swords that are useful too.
My personal opinion is that Umbra isn't very useful. You end up draining its charges in battle with an effect that doesn't help until the end. I prefer to use a different sword and soultrap right at the end of the fight.
There's no difference between keeping the sword/handing it back except for the dialogue you get from the DP's followers in the future. –rpehTCE 19:13, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Ok, thanks for the help, Razorflame 23:01, 15 August 2009 (UTC)

Your thoughts?Edit

I figured that I would direct you to this discussion and ask for your opinion since you placed the initial {{NeedsImage}} tag. -Dlarsh(Talk,Contribs) 04:56, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I've replied on that talk page. –rpehTCE 08:56, 23 August 2009 (UTC)

Shivering Weapons marked questionEdit

A while ago I asked about the levelling of grummite weaponry, and you marked it as a question needing an answer. Since then I've found out the answer so I just wanted to propose un-marking the page know that it's been done with.Remorse1994 19:30, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Leaving?Edit

What?! You're leaving?! You can't just do that, man. Get your scaly butt back in here, now. Don't make me turn this car around.

Though, seriously, why? "Recent event"? What's up? You're not one to up and leave like that. Atreus 05:05, 10 September 2009 (UTC)

Nephele was already making unwarranted accusations at me over email, now it looks like Ratwar is joining in. –rpehTCE 06:34, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
You don't have to leave. There are still people around who trust and support you. I don't believe that User:Calliope could be your sockpuppet. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:31, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
At first I was going to stay and fight, but on reflection I decided it wasn't worth it. Thank you for your support. –rpehTCE 17:34, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
You're welcome. If you found something better to do, then perhaps I shouldn't stop you. --Michaeldsuarez (Talk) (Deeds) 17:36, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm sad that you left. I really liked your editing style and your tireless work. Thank you for all the images you made for the TR part of the wiki and good luck with real life (or another computer-related addiction).Theviking 19:16, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
I'm sad to hear you're leaving. I do not know much about the technical details, but I don't believe User:Calliope is your sockpuppet. You've been fantastic for this site and it's sad it has to end like this. Good luck in real life. Talk Wolok gro-Barok Contributions 19:55, 10 September 2009 (UTC)
