Captain of the city watch suggestionsEdit

You removed my suggestions for captain of the city watch. the one with the union and promotions I no agree was a impossible one indeed but the other one was fine with crappy food and crappy drink can you please explain what was wrong Sliter 12:32, 1 January 2009 (EST)Sliter

Well what is poor food for a start? There's nothing that distinguishes one type of food from another and given that the sort of food in most towers is things like apples, cheese and bread, what could be simpler. Same for drink: most watch towers only have mead in them, which is already about the cheapest you can get. In any case, the Watch Captain wouldn't concern himself with food and drink - that would be a quartermaster's job. –RpehTCE 12:40, 1 January 2009 (EST)

Thanks I just started here and want to no what I;m doing wrong so I nevver do it again Sliter 09:09, 4 January 2009 (EST)Sliter

My first cleanupEdit

So how did I do? Did I do good? DaedryonTCE 13:38, 2 January 2009 (EST)

I thought it was pretty good: most of what went was irrelevant or pointless so it needed to go. I put back the tip about getting the Yellow Team Raiment though, as there's no other way of getting it. –RpehTCE 03:17, 3 January 2009 (EST)
Thanks! Yeah, I kinda noticed that I had removed that tip after I checked over my work. I've gone and cleanup'd The Great Heist, and moved a tip to Corvus Umbranox's page, so there's another cleanup successfully done. DaedryonTCE 08:37, 3 January 2009 (EST)

Critique pageEdit

Hi Rpeh, I recently added a new page and I was wondering if you could look it over to make sure all the information is accurate and see what improvements need to be made? (Gadianzero 16:20, 3 January 2009 (EST))

It looks fine to me, but I'm not 100% sure it was necessary... –RpehTCE 05:35, 4 January 2009 (EST)

What the hell, man?Edit

What's your problem? Since when is "hell" bad language? I can understand "god damn" being a bit iffy, seeing as the majority of this site is religious (other than me, the only Nihilist on UESP), but cmon, you undid an entire edit, which DID contribute something other than 2 un-christian words. I've reverted your unneeded revert, removed the scary language and combined it all into 1 nice clean wholesome edit. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 11:03, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Hiya!Edit

Hello :D, heh, I'm new to this so I'll just ask XD. You see I wen't to the recent changes page and then I accidentaly clicked on administrator noticeboard, and then I began reading, soo after a while I saw your name spelled wrong (reph) so uh, I don't know if I can change it so I'll just ask you, especially because it's your name :p. Byebye! ---hiya!- 15:52, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Don't worry about it - I've been called much worse! Besides, you shouldn't edit other people's comments even to correct spelling errors. Welcome to the site! –RpehTCE 01:10, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Umbacano EditEdit

Hello Robert,

Thank you very much for the warm greeting and welcoming note. I am very glad to have found this community, and I hope to be of some assistance during my time here.

In regards to my edit on the Umbacano page, I attempted to perform the edit myself, but only the sub-heading "Related Quests" was displayed; because of this, I brought the item to the discussion board instead.

Would it be a possibility that this was caused because my account is new? I recall reading something about a three day authentication period, perhaps that is why that particular text was not displayed for editing?

Sorry to be a bother, but thanks very much for your help.

Sincerely,

--Valarauker 16:33, 4 January 2009 (EST)

Ah yes. That piece of text is on a subpage - Oblivion:The_Collector/Description - so it can be included on various other pages. If you go to the quest's main page - Oblivion:The_Collector - you'll see that description page at the top and an edit link nearby. I'd forgotten how confusing that can be for new users! –RpehTCE 00:30, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Abandoned Shack.Edit

Remember this?. Yeah. You criticised me for removing it. Well guess what. It just got removed by Nephele! I believe you owe me an apology. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 21:35, 4 January 2009 (EST)

I don't owe you anything at all. The reason I undid your edit was that the text wasn't, as you claimed, "redundant". Nephele deleted the text for a different reason, clearly explained in her edit summary. –RpehTCE 00:39, 5 January 2009 (EST)
It's the same damn thing you fool. Also, I just use redundant in place of "useless". I have no clue what redundant means. Therefore, logic dictates that myself and Nephele removed it for the same reason. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 00:43, 5 January 2009 (EST)
If my reason for removing the content had been "redundant" then perhaps you'd have a leg to stand on. But that was not my reason.
Rpeh's comments to you focussed on your edit summaries, and the fact that they are frequently prejudicial, inaccurate, or just plain missing. And I'd have to agree with rpeh's assessment. The editor who originally added the content obviously thought it belonged on the article; the first place that editor is told to look if the edit is removed is the edit summary. If the edit summary pisses off the editor, misleads the editor, or is otherwise unhelpful, then it just leads to problems. The new editor might end up assuming that our contributors all "remove content based on stupid things". Or the new editor might start posting a lot of angry comments on the reverting editor's talk page. Which then just means even more people need to get involved to deal with the situation. A situation that could perhaps have been avoided in the first place by providing useful, relevant edit summaries that actually explain why the content was removed. --NepheleTalk 00:46, 5 January 2009 (EST)
Like I said. I dont know what redundant means, I just use since I saw you two using it. Also, I'm on Wikibreak until you guys get your acts together and sort your egos out. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 00:49, 5 January 2009 (EST)

MentorEdit

I have enough edits, and I'm willing to quote Nephele on this.

  • There is nothing in the current requirements stating that reverts do not count towards either mentor or patroller edit counts..

Therefore, with that reasoning, I do meet the requirements. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 00:38, 5 January 2009 (EST)

It doesn't matter. I included those in the first count to make the point. You still don't meet the requirements. –RpehTCE 00:40, 5 January 2009 (EST)
*sigh* It seems you not only have a thing against Lurlock, but me as well. I have the required amount of edits. I will count them myself and even list them for you if you want. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 00:42, 5 January 2009 (EST)
Let me save you the trouble. As of this moment you have 664 total edits:
  • 220 in User_talk
  • 86 in User
  • 127 in other talk spaces
  • 13 edits to UESPWiki:Administrator Noticeboard - also counts as a talk page
  • 11 edits to UESPWiki:Community Portal - also counts as a talk page
That takes you down to 207. Then you have to read the rest of the requirement: the bit where it talks about edits being constructive.
  • 33 edits in Image where you were either adding a deletion tag or fixing one you'd just added - edits that were reverted almost immediately
  • 10 edits to Morrowind description pages where you just removed links - again, changes reverted immediately.
  • 3 test edits to UESPWiki:Sandbox
You're now down to 161 already and that's before we subtract the storytelling posts, corrections of errors. That means you don't meet the requirements. That's before we consider whether somebody who deletes another's post because it's "redundant" without knowing the meaning of the word is suitable to be mentoring others.
As far as having a "thing" against you, I can only point to the number of times I've tried to help you only to be insulted and rebuffed. I shall not waste my time on such matters in the future. –RpehTCE 06:39, 5 January 2009 (EST)
Comin' out of Wikibreak for a second. I actually have 705 edits (706 with this edit). Check ActiveUsers. Or I'll save you some time.
  • "User:Daedryon has 705 edits.".
Nice try on shorting me by 40 edits though. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 07:58, 5 January 2009 (EST)
So? The others are on pages that have been deleted, which really can't be called constructive, can it? I was counting your remaining contributions. –RpehTCE 08:38, 5 January 2009 (EST)
Oh.....Well.....Don't I feel like a dumbass >.> Prince of MadnessDaedryon 08:49, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Message Response from 62 MisfitEdit

I got your post on my talk page; to be perfectly honest, I don't spend a lot of time on UESP; I'm not really into social networking, and I don't know very much about editing wikis (though I use them all the time, and am grateful for the opportunities to share my knowledge that they provide), so I didn't even see your first message until just today. Happy New Year!

So, yeah, I suppose the Candide reference is a bit questionable, but I had tried just directly adding it to the page itself, and people kept deleting it. (Was it you? Oh, well, it's all water under the bridge now. No apology needed, no harm done.)

I very much appreciate your welcome! Nobody on Wikipedia treats new editors with that kind of hospitality! It's nice to know that there's someone I could go to with questions! Thank you again!

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is on soon (my guilty pleasure!), so I better skeedaddle. (By the way, I don't know if you've ever read Candide, but if you haven't, I would highly recommend it. It's a great book!)

62 Misfit 21:27, 5 January 2009 (EST)

Forgot to put a reasonEdit

Yeah, I forgot to put a reason for my revert, but as far as my knowledge on language went, I thought that edit was wrong. Guess I was wrong :P Prince of MadnessDaedryon 08:07, 6 January 2009 (EST)

While I'z here, I'z got a question. Is it possible to edit my monobook.js or something so that when I hit Recent Changes, any and all Lore pages don't show up? That'd work for me because I'm an idiot at lore. 24.226.23.56 17:08, 6 January 2009 (EST)
The hell? I'm signed in....yet it made that an IP edit. Prince of MadnessDaedryon 17:08, 6 January 2009 (EST)

noincludeEdit

Hey Rpeh, just saw your edits on the Feed Bag and Flowing Bowl.. Thanks especially for the first one since I purposefully added that remark in notes hoping someone had the actual text. Anyway, I also noted you added some tags... excuse my wiki-ignorance but... what are they! I've seen them on other pages but can't really figure it out as they aren't included in the actual text (guess thats where the name comes for). Thanks. --SerCenKing 16:45, 7 January 2009 (EST)

I've been meaning to post on your talk page about that very subject! Basically, you can "transclude" a page on any other page. Take a look at Oblivion:Inns. It's made up of transclusions of all the individual inn pages - the ones you've been editing. We only want the really important notes on that page: everything else goes in the noinclude tags and so doesn't appear on the Inns page because it's not... included! The idea is that a brief summary is on the Inns page and you can click the title for the full detail. We use the same technique on several other pages - especially to do with Lore. –RpehTCE 16:56, 7 January 2009 (EST)
Great! Thanks a lot. Just one more question: I've noticed that the tags are like a box: you add one before and one after the parts you mean to "transclude" is this correct? --SerCenKing 02:51, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Well... you put the noinclude tags around the parts you don't want to transclude, but basically yes. Take a look at this - it's the Wikipedia help page for the tags. It'll give you a much better understanding than I can! Also, try looking at an inn page and then at how it appears on Oblivion:Inns - that should give a real-world example. –RpehTCE 03:00, 8 January 2009 (EST)

Help?Edit

Hey Rpeh! I've been reading on the UESP for a couple of years now, but just today made an account. Everytime I visit a talk page, your comments seem to be the ones to stick out to me, which is why I decided to ask you for help. I was wondering if you could tell me where to find a list of the codes used here to add things like content boxes? Any help would be great, thanks! (The Frozen Flame 20:04, 8 January 2009 (EST))

Hi there - welcome to the site! I'm not quite sure what you're after but it's possibly this list or this one. Alternatively, you might want to check out the Help:Tables page for information on how to use wiki tables. If that's not it either, let me know and I'll try to help. –RpehTCE 00:50, 9 January 2009 (EST)
Thank you! Found exactly what I was looking for. (TFF 16:58, 9 January 2009 (EST))

Why hello there!Edit

The following post was edited by GuildKnight to remove obscenities.

I know for a fact someone's just gonna revert this without reading it, but I can only hope that you'll pull your eyes out of your a** and read this. You know exactly who this is and you know why I'm here.

  • NUMBER 1. I was not the source of the bots, despite what Ratwar may think, however, I did know who is making all the bots, and as of right now, control of the bots has switched over to me. Expect more and more bots in the coming days.
  • NUMBER 2. I was sick and tired of this wiki for about the past 3 months. You, Nephele, Ratwar, Lurlock, you all have ego problems, and that's why so many users have left and made their own TES wikis.
  • NUMBER 3. This isn't the first place I've been banned from, for something f***ing pathetic. The first such occasion was x360a.org, and that was thanks to some d***-c*** mod named Minty, who banned me for no reason whatsoever, but claimed I was "being a d***". The 2nd such occasion was on CAWs.ws, and that was thanks to some n*****f***** named JayTG who banned me no f***ing reason, but I knew it was simply because I was part of a clique called GOD 2.0.
  • NUMBER 4. I see your little boyfriend is still sending you shit. You can update your IRC ban page. Apparently, I've been G-lined for 8 weeks, starting today. However, a little G-line won't stop me, as I have several other internet connections at my disposal.
  • NUMBER 5. That f****** IP who claimed you should report me to the F.A.S.T. for piracy, I know exactly who he is, where he lives, etc, all from his IP. Reporting me to the F.A.S.T. is pointless anyway, as you don't have any of my details. As us channers say, "Good luck, I'm behind 7 proxies!".

I've had enough....I'm taking you down. — Unsigned comment by 67.159.45.24 (talk) on 8 January 2009

Is he for real? I sense anger, like my computer is pissing anger fumes, because your post is so angry. That's an accomplishment in itself. (TFF 21:41, 8 January 2009 (EST))
Unfortunately, yes, He's for real. Atreus 22:41, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Time for a response.
  • Number 1: So what if you aren't the source of the bots. You knew who was, and you are the source now.
  • Number 2: Then quit? I might have problems with them, but you don't see me making bots and using proxies.
  • Number 3: This is UESP, not other places. I've been banned from other places, but you don't see me making bots and yelling at everyone.
Number 4: So what? I'm sure the chatspike authorities could use a bit of fun.
Number 5: We were going to ban you anyway. You admitted to doing something illegal on our site. Whether the law is stupid or not is not UESP's job to choose.
Rpeh is going to stay around, not because he is the nicest guy, but because he gets stuff done. Deal with it. If whining and cursing is all that it would take to get him kicked off the wiki, then it would have been done by now. As for your problems with other sites, this sounds a bit like your story before with RS wikia. "My friend was spamming and stuff and we got banned". I wouldn't be surprised if you started whining at their admins and putting bots all over the place and that's the reason why you've got banned. So, why won't you and your "friend" find something else to do. --Tim Talk 22:15, 8 January 2009 (EST)
The following post was edited by GuildKnight to remove obscenities.
Oh, it's illegal is it?
  • My buddy LEGALLY PAID FOR THE PLUGINS AND DOWNLOADED THEM.
  • I paid him the exact cost of all the mods, as stated by him, and he used that money to redownload the plugins a 2nd time.
  • He then sent me the files that I paid him to get for me, in a RAR file. Nothing illegal about that. Everything was paid for. No piracy whatsoever, dumbfucks.
Therefore, I'm right, you're wrong, you're a dumba**, and this will be the 3rd site to have blocked me for something completely retarded. Also, I'm not the one who vandalized the RS Wiki. That was my next door neighbour and friend, Total Rune. I didn't always know who was running the bots. Believe me on that. I just recently found out, shortly after I got banned. And guess who it was. Total Rune, or, as he was formerly known here, ImmortalKaine. He's placed me in control of them now. Enjoy your true fate. I am, in your words, Mehrunes Dagon. I control your fate, whether you wish to believe it or not. 67.159.45.96 22:38, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Time for a second response, Though I doubt Mr. Daedryon will read it.
  • 1. You're just being an immature egotistical jerk now. Bots do nothing. Whoop, ban, oh well. You're really not affecting anything. Heck, the mods probably are turning it into a game.
  • 2. Like Timmeh said, quit. Also, I'd like to see said wikis.
  • 3. No reason? You're cursing like a tween because you're not getting your way. If this was a place I controlled, you'd be permabanned faster than you can say "hay wat's goign on in heer guis"
  • 4. Dude. You've been banned because you're acting like.. what did I say? "An immature egotistical jerk" Also: Evading bans usually means 1. longer bans, and 2. harsher punishments.
  • 5. *Yawn.* IPs usually tell nothing. They tell your general vicinity, and that's it. I suppose if you were a part of a police force you might be able to do something, but by the way you're acting I highly doubt that. Atreus 22:41, 8 January 2009 (EST)
The following post was edited by GuildKnight to remove obscenities.
I am reading this. And it's hilarious. Some lesser known facts about me. My whole family is in the police force here in one of the cities in Ontario. I won't give you a direct city, just the province. My aunt is the Chief of Police in the city. You can find a picture of her on Google! Once again, for privacy, I won't give out details, god knows what kind of perverts are on this site. Also, I'm not b****ing to try to get unbanned, like I said, I don't give a flying f***. This sites degraded in the 7 months or so that I've been here. Speaking of egotistical jerks, that's the attitude I've gotten from the admins here in the past few months. See, it's almost like you guys are trying to keep the group of admins just between who's an admin right now, and not letting anyone else in. That's where this Wikia fails. All of you can go f*** yourselves. You think I have nothing to do with the police? Please, b****, I am the police. My family is the police. Not to mention I have connections to the Ontario chapters of the Hell's Angels. I'm the judge, the jury, and in UESP's case, the executioner. I've DDOS'd 4chan before, I can do it to UESP. 67.159.45.96 22:50, 8 January 2009 (EST)
I'd like to call bull****.
1) The police can't get into the ISPs and check the exact location of an IP without a warrant. Privacy issues and whatnot.
2) The fact you refuse to tell anything shows you're making up s****. Why? Simple: If you knew, you'd know that a Chief of Police already has to deal with 40975654 things, much bigger threats. Some random guy from the internet either a) Won't find useful stuff. b) Would find data public enough that prank-calling is already dealt with. A hacker won't get into anything that hasn't been infiltrated before nor can magically discover where else the person pops up.
3) You obviously do care, seeing how you check back.
4) Why would you need to change admins when the current ones work?
5) I see lots of posturing and empty threatening. "I am the judge." Don't make me laugh. Not even governments can truly shut down a site.
6) Oh, how scary. A chapter of outlaws in dilapidated bikes (crime isn't that profitable, we can say) who probably can't afford nor would bother to travel to someone's house just 'cause some dude asked'em to.
7) DDoS. Big deal. Install IP filter, quick fix. If it turns more complex, just program the server to drop suspect packets or change the way the website works. Go to grc.com and take a look.201.214.50.94 23:21, 8 January 2009 (EST)
This man wins the internet. Also, DDoSing UESPwiki? The site's so slow nobody would notice! >.> Atreus 23:30, 8 January 2009 (EST)
This man wins nothing. He's an idiot and also using a proxy. Atreus, you also win f*** all. 67.159.57.242 23:34, 8 January 2009 (EST)
Back up there, buster. Proof of proxy? I happen to know it's not a proxy. It's my friend, Kyte, from Chile (I won't insult your intelligence here. I just hope you know where Chile is). Ask Tim if you don't believe me. GK can confirm, too, she was there. Atreus 23:42, 8 January 2009 (EST)
I'll just assume your narrow ethnocentric view of the world blinds you to the fact that not everyone's from the english-speaking world. My IP is 100% legit since I HAPPEN TO BE CHILEAN. - 201.214.45.3 20:48, 9 January 2009 (EST)

Style QuestionsEdit

Forgive me if you're not the right person to ask, but you don't seem to mind questions from n00bs. I can't help but notice the big differences between the way Morrowind and Oblivion pages are presented. Two examples: you (or rather, RoBoT) added a note saying that you don't want links on place Description pages but in Morrowind there are loads; then there's a general "don't use console cheats" mentality in the Oblivion namespace that doesn't apply in Oblivion.

I don't know if this was a conscious decision or whether it arose out of habit, but it's confusing for new users like me. Can you offer any advice? Dr Jones 17:09, 9 January 2009 (EST)

Speaking for the "console cheats" issue, I think it comes down to the fact that it's a lot easier to irrevocably screw up a quest in Morrowind without realizing it, mainly because almost every person involved in even a minor quest in Oblivion cannot be killed until the quest is finished, but also due in part to the fact that most of Oblivion's quests are pretty linear and much more predictable - none of that multiple-outcomes stuff. Thus console cheats are often necessary to repair the damage. Also, don't quote me on this, but I'd guess that a far greater percentage of people playing Morrowind today are doing so on a PC rather than a console, which is not necessarily true of Oblivion. Since console users can't use the console (ironic, isn't it?), it's not very helpful to give them console cheats. That said, there are numerous pages in Oblivion where console commands are given, due to the danger of common and often serious bugs. (E.g. Caught in the Hunt) I don't see a problem with console commands in general, when they're used to repair broken quests and such. I wouldn't even call that "cheating". Now, using the console to give yourself the item you need for a quest, not because the game glitched but because you were just too lazy to go and find it legitimately? That's definitely cheating, and not something to encourage, though we still might give the console command on the off-chance that you do need it because something broke and you have to fix it. --TheRealLurlock Talk 01:10, 10 January 2009 (EST)
On the links question... Oblivion:Places has a list of every major location, and links in the description pages would mean a forest of blue pointing to each city several dozen times. Morrowind doesn't have a similar page, although the number of links to Vvardenfell at the top of Morrowind:Places is a little distracting.
Console cheats: I agree with Lurlock, although I think there are still a few definite cheats around that should be taken off.
In general, there are a few differences between the two namespaces, and while they definitely evolved by chance, they do make a kind of sense now. –RpehTCE 07:19, 10 January 2009 (EST)

Freewaydog's irc problemEdit

"You're getting an "unknown host" error, which means your computer can't resolve irc.chatspike.net to an IP address. That's odd, but it means you might be able to connect if you try 208.68.94.19 directly. –Rpeh•T•C•E• 02:14, 10 January 2009 (EST)"

The Skeleton ManEdit

As I mentioned a while ago on the Morrowind Talk page, I think that the Skeleton Man Interview should be hosted on the site. It is nearly identical in circumstance to the Interview with a Dark Elf, and is copyrighted by Bethesda, according to TIL. The reason I think we should host it is that it is an incredibly valuable lore source, for information if not citing. (That's a different issue.) It's not out-of-game lore so much as teaser material, so it should go next to the existing interview.Temple-Zero 15:58, 12 January 2009 (EST)

http://www.imperial-library.info/interviews/skelm.shtml

I'd love to host that, and any other article that ends up being used as a source. The trouble is copyright. To give you one example, we didn't just decide to host PGE3 - Ratwar approached people who approached people who eventually gave us permission; and even then there were some conditions (I believe). Depending on where an article was originally posted, there may be differing copyrights.
This isn't being picky, or trying to throw up deliberate spoiling points - it's a serious point. If we post something for which we don't have permission then Daveh or others (quite likely including me!) could be declared as having violated copyright. Whatever beliefs there may be about information being free, courts are renowned for taking a literal view of the law.
If you (or anyone else) can get clear, unambiguous, permission to host any of the OOG documents on TIL then I'd have absolutely no objection to hosting them, and would support any such suggestion. Until then, I have to remain cautious, because apart from anything else, that's part of my job as an admin. –RpehTCE 16:48, 12 January 2009 (EST)
Do you need a clear statement giving TIL's permission or do you need proof that you have Bethesda's permission by extension of it being published on a defunct fan site, then on TIL, then here? The one is as easy as asking Prowleler or Adanorcil, the other requires some digging.Temple-Zero 19:05, 12 January 2009 (EST)
It's not TIL's permission to give - it's Bethesda's. As the article itself says, "Keep in mind that these answers are copyrighted by Bethesda. It is exclusive to this website, do not place it on any others. You may provide a link to it, however." –RpehTCE 02:59, 13 January 2009 (EST)

As you noticed before, I spent some time condensing the Mercantile page. I was pleased to see that the "needs cleanup" tag was removed shortly thereafter, so I tried my hand at the Crime page that had a similar problem.

Since you looked over my job last time, I was wondering if you could do it again. I'd feel wrong in removing the tag myself.

Concern about some editsEdit

I'm not sure about some of this guy's edits. --Debatra 19:44, 20 January 2009 (EST)

I messed up a pageEdit

I was trying to move a comment from Shivering:Ritual of Dementia into the discussion page but I accidently messed up the entire page. I tried undoing it but to no avail. I don't want to try anything else less I make things worst. (Gadianzero 16:16, 21 January 2009 (EST))

I've restored the page and cleaned up the redirects. --NepheleTalk 16:41, 21 January 2009 (EST)

Thank youEdit

Tamriel Rebuilt People PagesEdit

I noticed you put a bunch of these up, but they're in the form TES3Mod:Tamriel Rebuilt/People/<NAME>. Is the "People/" part really necessary? We don't do that on any of the other namespaces, in fact, we've very specifically made a push to step away from that sort of naming convention in many cases. It basically just means that much more you have to type when creating links, and has the potential to cause confusion for templates used on those pages. I'd like to recommend that we move all those existing pages to conform to the site standards for the other namespaces. Or is there some special reason you arranged them the way they are? --TheRealLurlock Talk 21:49, 28 January 2009 (EST)

And the books are done like that too. This isn't a namespace so it makes more sense to do it like this to keep some kind of organisation. The template takes care of most of the linking problem anyway. –RpehTCE 00:40, 29 January 2009 (EST)
The template doesn't take care of the linking problem. See the TR3 People page for example. All of the people are red-linked, because it is looking for [[Tes3Mod:Tamriel Rebuilt/NPC name]], rather than [[Tes3Mod:Tamriel Rebuilt/People/NPC name]]. In order to get the template to point to the correct page, you need to use {{TR3|People/NPC name}}. --Gaebrial 06:40, 29 January 2009 (EST)
The template means you don't have to put the Tes3Mod:Tamriel Rebuilt before the location. See Services for an example of how it should have been done. If the person adding links to the People page had looked before leaping, there wouldn't be a problem. Given that the People/* pages were created some 36 hours before a load of unnecessary links were created on the People page, I don't see how it's my fault we have a page of redlinks.
If everybody wants to move the pages then fine - I'll have RoBoT do it. But I still believe it makes more sense like this given that we're already in a subspace. –RpehTCE 08:02, 29 January 2009 (EST)
I don't see how it being a namespace or not makes any difference, really. It's not like the TR content is going to get mixed in with other content in the TES3Mod namespace, because they'd all still have the "Tamriel Rebuilt/" part in the page name. I just think we should stick to the site's standards and not make the pagenames unnecessarily long just to add that in there. --TheRealLurlock Talk 08:57, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Okay, fair enough. I'll set RoBoT up to move them. I'd rather have a bot do it so the moves don't all show up on the RC page (by default). –RpehTCE 09:11, 29 January 2009 (EST)
Done. Any volunteers to do the 207 deletes? –RpehTCE 14:29, 29 January 2009 (EST)

Just wanted to point this out to youEdit

Okay so I understand why you deleted my post but I want to state my case.

http://encyclopediadramatica.com/Criminal_Scum#Argonian

"Arogonians are the metaphorical niggers of Cyrodil, ranking below all but the Khajiits. Although a black race does exist in the game, they are treated with respect by the other races. The Argonians, on the other hand, are oppressed, tortured, and looked down upon by most other races. They have a particularly hostile relationship with the Khajiits, and the whole of Tamriel just wishes the two races would wipe each other out to get all those damn furfags off the streets."

Also, think about it, they are a slave race... They are called "pond scum" and the most racially discriminated against in the games. I think Bethesda meant for them to be black!!

You expect me to take you seriously when you link to a site so filled with offensive nonsense and bigotry? If you want to post hate-filled comments about people with differently-colored skin, do it there. If you post anything like that again on this site, you'll be blocked. –RpehTCE 02:41, 31 January 2009 (EST)

Grow up. Seriously. Grow up. –RpehTCE 03:17, 31 January 2009 (EST)
I think it's actually a good point. Bethesda definitely had this in mind.
