Duplicate imagesEdit
Hi ProfMorriarty. Concerns were raised about the number of duplicate images being uploaded to the site with French names (e.g. File:AR-creature-Loup.gif). This appears to be related to the hardcoded image names used by Modèle:Résumé de créature d'Arena. This is not a good approach for that template, as ideally we should only need to host a single copy of an image file for use globally. An alternative is to use file redirects for the French names, but that would lead to a serious bloat of unnecessary redirects on the English wiki. The best solution would be to modify the résumé template to accept a manually-input image parameter, similar to Template:Creature Summary. I recognise that the French wiki has just lifted the logic directly from our own Arena creatures template, but it isn't a good approach for us to be using either! —Legoless (talk) 13:03, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
