VB.NETEdit

I have experiance with VB.NET 2005, including the non-visual parts (just thought I would say that, since some people can't write a line in code but consider the ability to make a screen with an OK button that does nothing "experiance"). I would be willing to help with the VB Wiki, although I do have one question. While I do see the problems that can be solved by starting anew, I do not see any problems with the MediaWiki archutecture or software. Why reinvent the wheel, when MediaWiki is fully extensable and open source, and free as well? -- Dylnuge(talk ยท edits) 17:09, 19 January 2007 (EST)

The server I have is Windows-based. Although I can get an older version of PHP (v 4.x) to run on it, it's pretty slow, let alone the newer versions of MediaWiki won't run. When looking for wiki software in ASP.net, nothing was to my liking. Therefore, I can either use something slow but functional, non-functional but moderately faster, or just make something myself / with the help of others with programming knowledge. I chose the third. --Aristeo | Talk 18:12, 19 January 2007 (EST)
Understood. I can help with ASP and ASP.NET components as well (although I am more experianced with PHP). What type of database? I have seen MySQL on a windows, I know Microsoft develops there own version of SQL (SQL Server 2005), and of course Access is a common choice as well. Perhaps this discussion should be moved to Wikiscrolls.
I'm using SQL Server 2000, since MS SQL is faster than MySQL and Access. I guess VeeBeeWiki would support any database that understands SQL queries and allows data connections. But I think your right, these sorts of discussions should be made on Wikiscrolls. --Aristeo | Talk 19:16, 19 January 2007 (EST)
