Happy Birthday!Edit

Hope you have a good day! rpeh •TCE 15:18, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

i already said happy birth day on the forums but...happy birth day! *cheesy line*--GUM!!! 15:28, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Happy birthday from me too! --SerCenKing Talk 15:42, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Happy Birthday, mr. Matt! --Krusty 17:05, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks! :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 02:14, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Looks like I never actually got to this yesterday. Happy birthday even if it is a bit late!--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 17:27, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks TAO! --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:34, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks!Edit

Thanks for fixing this edit! I'd failed to notice it wasn't his own post when I patrolled it. Robin Hoodtalk 01:05, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

No problem. It may be unnecesary, but on the subject of User talk:Username, could we add a notice to the top suggesting people to search for a more specific page to ask questions (And find answers) and give a link to the Community Portal? I don't know how questions started there. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:34, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Well, I added a banner, but probably not quite the kind you were thinking of. :) (D'oh! Apparently I forgot to save it. Core added the "real" banner while I was gone, then I re-did my failed Prod when I got back.) Robin Hoodtalk 03:09, 27 August 2010 (UTC); Edit: 05:11, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Haha, I was wondering what that meant at first... --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 05:26, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

CookieEdit

You have been given a cookie!

Your dedication and diligence to the wiki has not gone unnoticed. A user has seen the progress you've made, and has given you a cookie because of it. Good work! The user had the following to say:

Thanks for all the work you've been doing today. It seems every time I patrol something today and think it needs some action, you've already been there and done it! It makes our jobs as Patrollers much easier. Robin Hoodtalk 05:41, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Just doing my adopted job. :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 05:57, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Time's Up!Edit

Hey Matt! Feel free to add all your hard Sandbox-work to all the Roleplaying pages. --Krusty 19:54, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I will! And it was a bit overlooked back when I said it - I didn't do the Ruler page, because almost everything is mod-dependant. Should we try to pick at it, or just put it up for deletion? And as a last note - once I'm done, could you delete my sandboxes 2-11? I doubt I'd ever use them again. Thanks, --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:05, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
I'll get to that. All done? --Krusty 20:46, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
All done. I removed the redlinks from your page as well. Thank you so much for the effort! --Krusty 21:22, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Good jobEdit

You have been given a plateful of cookies!

For reading through the unreadable, and sorting it all out, you deserve a tasty treat! rpeh •TCE 21:24, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

I hope rpeh doesn't mind, but since I wanted to give you a cookie too, and I suspect I speak for more than just myself, I changed it to a plateful of cookies. Well done! Robin Hoodtalk 23:02, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Happy to clean up those ... things. :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 23:58, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

FilesEdit

For future reference, you can move files with the move tab at the top, just like any other page. Then you're only uploading the one file and Speedying just the redirect. Saves a bit on server space, not that that's really a huge concern. Robin Hoodtalk 01:30, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

I did look for the move tab but it wasn't visible where it normally was on different pages. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:36, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
My mistake. Apparently only Patrollers and Admins can do that. Robin Hoodtalk 01:43, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
Ah. Well, sorry again for that. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:49, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
What're you apologizing for? I'm the one who was unaware! :) Robin Hoodtalk 02:24, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
I made quite a ruckus for myself and stuffed up the RC :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 02:29, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
No worries. I just did the same yesterday, I think it was, so I'm not one to talk. Robin Hoodtalk 02:37, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

WowEdit

Your talk page fills up so quickly :P MikeTalk 03:14, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

And this is why ;). I should probably make another archive soon. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:44, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Someone's been playing in my Sandbox!Edit

Good work on the Dead Crewmember‎ page, and thanks for the images on the other two I created recently - I was going to do those today so you've saved me a job!

If you do any of the others on the list, please feel free to cross them off. Thanks! rpeh •TCE 08:42, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

No problem! By the way, how would I get the ID's in the CS? --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 16:14, 28 August 2010 (UTC)
The BaseId is easy. In the Object Window, you should notice a hidden column between the Editor ID and the Count. Expand that column and you can see all the baseids.
RefId is a little trickier. Right-click on an NPC and click "Use Info". You get another window listing all the things that refer to it. There should be at least one entry in the bottom half (Used in these Cells). Double click, and you'll open the cell containing the NPC in the Cell View window. Look for the NPC's entry in the cell objects window, then expand the column between Editor ID and Type. That's the RefId. Some NPCs will have more than one RefId because the base NPC is used more than once (eg the Dead Captives I made this morning). Others won't have a RefId at all because they aren't placed in the world from the start. Mark those as N/A.
Hope that helps! rpeh •TCE 17:29, 28 August 2010 (UTC)

Image RequestsEdit

Could you get a picture of the Night Child please? His page would look a lot better with one. Also when you get time could you grab a shot of a para-scamp? I can't take it myself since I'm on the PS3 but it would be nice for my userpage.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 17:59, 2 September 2010 (UTC)

Also since our resident Khajiit has finished up with their stats Boethia's Chosen could use some pictures too.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 18:15, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Done. That was a lot of images! And yes, my name is Matt and I made it snow in Oblivion. It was a conflict of mods, if anyone has any real problem with that they can upload a new picture of the Nord and Khajiit. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That?
I uploaded 666 bytes of content to Boethia's Chosen. An omen my images are bad? :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Maybe :D. When do you think you get a shot of a skydiving scamp?--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 21:03, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Like a scamp falling off a cliff or something? They don't have a falling animation. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:26, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Kind of. After the scamp is dead if you throw it off a high area its arms spread out and it looks like it's skydiving.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 22:14, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Could you make an image of a skull please? I need it for a family tree of the Abamer septs.--TAOHuh? 19:25, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Mentor ProgramEdit

Do you want to become my mentor? I want to become a better editor for this Wiki. I also need help with plug-ins for Oblivion. Think about it. Rigas Papadopoulos(User Name).

Sure! What are your questions? (I'd start by signing your post like this --~~~~) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 16:31, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
I do not understand what you mean by ~~~~. These are some of my questions; How can I upload images to this Wiki? I did not understand a word at the tutorial. Also at the Construction Set of Oblivion, how can someone create a custom race? Rigas Papadopoulos. P.S. I now understand what you mean with the tildes. Note; I am from Greece so forgive any grammar mistakes I do. --Rigas Papadopoulos 11:49, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
First off you sign at the end of your post. Second, there is a page where you can upload files, and it is at the bottom of the sidebox. Just chose what picture you want to upload and name it appropriatly. To make a custom race, you go ito Gameplay at the top tabs, and click on races. Duplicate any existing race (Right click it and select duplicate) and modify their stats. If you want to want to have custom skin and everything, that's much more complicated. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 15:34, 6 September 2010 (UTC)
I just changed Rigas' post so it's more clear what he meant.
Rigas: What Matt means is that it's customary to sign posts so that people know who's talking and when they said something. To do that, instead of actually typing your name at the end of your post, just type --~~~~. That will automatically insert your name and the time you posted...much like this: Robin Hoodtalk 17:38, 6 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks to both of you. Matt I have another question about the Contruction Set. How can someone change the Inventory or the Factions of a person he/she creates? Also I noticed that in your user page you have some icons saying that you are knowlengeable about the Knights of the Nine and the Shivering Isles. How can I put an icon saying that I am knowledgeable about Oblivion? And one last thing; How can I more than one section at my user page?

For factions, open the Factions window from the Character menu, then drag items from the list on the left into the Factions list on the character sheet. For inventory, drag items from the Object window into the NPC's inventory tab. rpeh •TCE 14:16, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks! I have another question; how can I add a person I created at the Construction Set where I want? Also a change of plans; I want to learn how to put any templates. I do not understand a thing at the UESPWiki page. --Rigas Papadopoulos 15:00, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

{{User Oblivion}} would out an Oblivion Userbox on your page. To put people in the world just go to the tab in the lower righthand corner and drag an NPC into the selected interior/Worldspace of your choice. You might need to be more specific on the templates, as there are a lot of them. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:22, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you very much, I have a hard time understanding many things. I have a new question; How can I put icons from Fighters Guild Ranks at a custom Faction I made? I can not find them at the Oblivion directory. Also; How can I put an image like the fishy stick you put at my User Page? And one last thing; How can I write Fanfiction? I do not understand much at the UESPWiki page. --Rigas Papadopoulos 17:47, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

Make (for example) [[User:Rigas Papadopoulos/(insert title here)]] to create Fanfiction.--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 17:50, 9 September 2010 (UTC)

So now I just write what I want at the new page right? Thanks! --Rigas Papadopoulos 14:43, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I have more questions. Can I put User Protection to a page? Also, at the Oblivion Construction Set how can I put an NIF image to a weapon I created? --Rigas Papadopoulos 10:18, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Only admins can protect pages, patrollers can protect sections (Although I don't know what that really means.). To put an NIF image is very hard and requires getting BSA files, I suggest just duplicating an existing one then modifying it. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 19:33, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Section protection means that nobody except another patroller or admin can modify anything between the <protect></protect> tags. If they try to save a page where they've changed a protected section, they'll get an error like the following:
Forbidden
The UESPWiki – Your source for The Elder Scrolls since 1995

You tried to modify protected text

Robin Hoodtalk 22:10, 15 September 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the answers but they created more questions. What is a BSA file? Also I tried to duplicate the NIF image from a Silver Shortsword but I failed. How exactly can I do it? --Rigas Papadopoulos 18:29, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Formatting one's sigEdit

I've noticed that some users, including you, have managed to do some neat things to their sigs, including changing color font etc. Could you tell me how I can do that? I tried going through My Preferences --> Signature, but as soon as I try to put any sort of HTML tag in my sig, it just displays the HTML itself. Your help is much appreciated. -- /\/\oses 06:21, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

The main thing you're probably missing is the "Raw Signatures" button has to be checked in order for HTML to display properly. Once you've done that, any wiki- or HTML-markup will be properly processed. Robin Hoodtalk 07:28, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
I don't want to clog up Matt's talk page, so I started a section on my own called "Sig Nonsense". It'd be awesome if you could check it out and tell me if you can see what I'm doing wrong. Thanks! -- /\/\oses 07:38, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Could I put this as my signature? And if so, how?   --The Grey Arrow 21:51, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

PS. Is there some kind of guide or tutorial for this? — Unsigned comment by The Grey Arrow (talkcontribs) at 21:54 on 7 February 2011
You can find a basic guide that covers various topics in Getting Started. Images aren't allowed in signatures, but you can try a "text" equivalent instead, using something like this (edit the page to see how I did it): . In the long run, probably the easiest way to customize your signature with HTML is to create a page called User:Grey Arrow/sig and just create the signature you want there. You can look at these pages to get ideas of how to do yours. Once you're happy with how it looks, go into your Preferences and change the signature to read {{subst:User:Grey Arrow/sig}} and make sure "Raw Signatures" is turned on. Robin Hoodtalk 22:47, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Oops - thanks!Edit

Thanks for this!

I was so focused on getting the right quote I didn't check to see if it was still appropriate. rpeh •TCE 21:44, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

Your welcome, and thanks for this, I almost did it myself, but forgot to his save. ;) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:50, 16 September 2010 (UTC)

100 down, a lot more to go :)Edit

You have been given a gold star!

It is with great honour and pleasure that I award this star, for the exceptional work you've done on the OBNPCRP. Thanks to you, we've managed to reach an important mark: 100 completed NPC pages! Great job! --SerCenKing Talk 20:31, 17 September 2010 (UTC)

Writing helpEdit

Matt, can you check this, tell me your opinion and help me finish it? --Rigas Papadopoulos 12:22, 29 September 2010 (UTC)

Cancel. --Rigas Papadopoulos Do you need anything? 13:32, 5 October 2010 (UTC)

Hmm... I Think You Goofed on That One :DEdit

Did you mean to say Gweneth is the female Breton mage who follows Caldrin faithlessly rather than faithfully?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 17:15, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

I did goof on that one. :) It's archived now, so begone with it!. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 20:01, 7 October 2010 (UTC)

Congratulations!!!Edit

Congratulations for becoming a Userspace Patroller! I wish you the best. --Rigas Papadopoulos • Talk to meMy work 05:45, 9 October 2010 (UTC)

Seconded. Congrats! Robin Hoodtalk 06:00, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
 :P Thanks. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 23:24, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
I third them! Also sorry for flooding the RC earlier. At least you didn't have to patrol it right?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 01:20, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Right? I don't think I was on at the time :p . And congrats to you too, being the only other UP on the site. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 04:12, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Congratulations happily accepted! And that just made me think of a new word. Congratululations: Howling, hooting or wailing congratulations. Sorry; I'm a punning type. As for the flooding of the RC see the revision history of User:TheAlbinoOrc/Fanfiction/Seer. Also sorry about not being on too much to userpatrol. I recently got sucked back in to Dragon Age.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 04:39, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
While my RC super vision ensures I'm aware of most things going on in the wiki, I can't spot everything. :D --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:56, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
Speaking of Seer... What do you think of it? (Be aware that I've added more since I added the link above).--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 01:43, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
It's interesting. I'm waiting to read more! :) (And I'm working on S'arad's revenge, as well) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 02:45, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
Yes, O Arch-Magister. I'll get to work on it once I finish posting this. Glad you're working on S'arad's Revenge also!--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 02:50, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Question?Edit

So since RH thinks you're ready for patroller do you want me to go ahead and nominate you? It came up because of this by the way.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 16:59, 12 October 2010 (UTC)

Errramphugh.... I'm not 100% sure I'm 100% ready... and I don't want a "Just another month" oppose means I have to wait three more months to nominate myself again. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 17:27, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
By the way I responded to you again about my patroller nomination.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 22:08, 13 October 2010 (UTC)
The problem is... I already know that stuff. :p
Why you want to be a patroller, your qualifications, it's not like anything will suprise me. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:33, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

MentorshipEdit

It ends. Thanks for the help you provided at my early days. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 20:25, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you!Edit

Thanks a lot for cleaning all the vandalism at my page. I was at my village for 2 days so I was much less active and I didn't noticed it. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 13:16, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

Dialogue favorEdit

Hey Matt, would you mind gathering a list of dialogue from Melisande of the Vampire Cure quest for me? It would be really helpful (hopefully) for the Lore:Vampire rewrite I'm doing. The added benefit is that you could use it for the OBNPCRP. So, you up for it? -- Jplatinum16 03:03, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Sure... here we go.
  • Argonian Blood Topic: This dagger has been specially treated. All you need to do is stab an Argonian with it, and there'll be enough blood on it to use. Any old Argonian will do, and you needn't kill it, but do be careful. Stabbing strangers often doesn't sit well with townspeople or the town guards. (After You have the blood): I'll just take that dagger back from you. It should have more than enough blood for my needs. I do hope it didn't cause too much trouble. (If you don't have the Blood yet): You haven't used it yet, have you? Don't be hesitant. This is the only way.
  • Bloodgrass: A most interesting plant. From the planes of Oblivion itself, so it may require some effort to find. Should your travels happen to take you to a place where it grows, keep your eyes open. (After you got it): Ah, excellent. I hope getting it wasn't too much trouble for you.
  • Cure for Vampirism: Oh my! What makes you think I would know about such a thing? Player: I heard a rumor that you might know. My dear, you shouldn't trust rumors. They can get you into horrible trouble. This time, however, you've heard correctly. I might know a thing or two about it. But I'm afraid the information isn't free. You do me a small favor, and then we'll talk about this cure you seek. (Player: What do I have to do?) I have my own interests, and they occasionally require resources that are difficult for me to acquire. Soul gems, for example. If you can bring me five empty Grand Soul Gems, I'm quite sure I can help you with this cure that you seek. I shall await your return. (Player, optional: I don't think so.) Very well. I imagine if you're so interested in the cure, it's urgent... and perhaps personal? I shall be here if you change your mind.
  • Player: You are a Witch, aren't you?': Oh, my dear! I gave up witchcraft a long, long time ago. But a cure for vampirism... That's something I haven't thought about in quite some time. Very challenging, and potentially dangerous. If you do a little something for me, I'll help you. How does that sound?
  • Things Needed (After you've gotten the Soul Gems): Ah, wonderful! These will be most useful to me. Now, to the matter at hand. You need a cure for vampirism, yes? I believe I can create a potion that will do the trick. But it requires a few things. To start, I'll need six cloves of garlic, two shoots of Bloodgrass, and five leaves of Nightshade. Those will be easy enough for you to find. But I'll also need the blood of an Argonian, and the ashes of a powerful vampire. Those may be... more difficult for you to acquire. Any old Argonian will do, but the vampire must be very powerful indeed. If you succeed, I'll get you what you need. Any questions?
  • Garlic: You're familiar with it, aren't you? Often used in cooking. It should be quite easy to find. After Six cloves, just like I asked for. Very good. Nightshade: Perhaps not quite as easy to find as garlic, but if you're determined, you'll find it. Keep your eyes open, as it often grows in the wild. After Wonderful. I do hope you didn't try to eat any of it. It can have very nasty effects on one such as yourself.
  • Vampire: This one is... difficult. It may be quite a trial for you. But if you are successful, it will make the cure all the more worth it. You have come across a vampire or two in your travels, perhaps? I assure you, they are nothing like what you must face. The vampire you seek is powerful, so powerful that those who sought to destroy him were unsuccessful, no matter what they tried. The best they could do to was to imprison him underground, where he survives to this day. Search near the North Panther River for Hindaril. If you can vanquish him, his ashes will be more than adequate for my needs. If player already has ashes (Possible?): Well, well. It would seem you've been busy out on your own. I need the ashes of a powerful vampire. You have them in your possession. It is good to see that Hindaril has been defeated already. After player had ashes: Hindaril is destroyed? You are indeed a force to be reckoned with. I shall take the ashes; finally, some part of him can be put to a good use.

There's some greetings, but none useful. I think I got everything... --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 02:44, 13 November 2010 (UTC)

Hmm, I don't know what I'll be able to use from this, but I'll think of something. Thanks, AMM! -- Jplatinum16 00:55, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

A Responsible Buglump?Edit

Have we tried setting his aggression to 50 so that he won't steal anything and then testing it?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 23:38, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

Wouldn't, with that high of an aggression, he'd just attack and kill several people anyways? --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 01:54, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
Me Dumbo, you Arch-Mage. I somehow typed "Agression" for "Responsibility".--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 02:39, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
I think that'd fix it, but you can still make sure. I'd ask someone else to do it, though, as I've actually never seen him get into a fight with anyone. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 21:54, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
"Wow, this is weird. I just tested this and have found a technique to make it happen every time. Why it is happening I have no idea - but it does. If you place a piece of food on Else God-Hater before 8am and wait until the clock strikes 8am (when Graklak is supposed to eat his breakfast), then bingo; Graklak casts a invisibility-spell (or chameleon, I'm not sure) on himself and attacks. Else, of course, pulls out her full Mythic Dawn spell and then the fight can begin. I don't know if this is important, but for testing, I emptied the whole inn for food, leaving Else with the only food left in the cell. --Krusty 15:12, 13 September 2009 (UTC)" Probably you just haven't hit the conditions. I think that the only active users that have seen this aren't on the PC so...--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:59, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

StarfallEdit

Are you making any progress? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 21:29, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

It expands every day. The town of 15 turned into a town of 30 and, coincidentally, there are a whopping 30 quests in the main questline with about twenty sidequests... as I'm typing this, it sounds as if I'm crazy. :| --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 22:23, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
The biggest the better. When you finish it, will you inform me? I am awaiting for it since the first time I saw your userpage (about 2 and a half months ago). I suppose that it will be out in about 2 months. I wish I had the same modding skills. --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 22:32, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
I'll be sure to update my userpage when I finish it. My process is Making NPCs (Done) -> Writing the quests (Doing this now) -> Writing AI -> Dialogue -> Scripts. Believe it or not - writing the quests will probably take me the longest because of the creativity needed for all those quests to be unique. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 22:37, 19 November 2010 (UTC)
I have two questions. First, where will you upload it? And second, do the NPCs have voice for their unique dialogue? --Rigas Papadopoulos • TalkDeeds 22:50, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

Userification of Roleplaying: A ReviewEdit

Hail to the Arch-Mage! The Userification system for roleplays has reached the three month mark and is up for review. You voted so you should have a chance to take a look at this.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 17:16, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

The number 11Edit

I'm rather new here, so I am unable to post on the discussion of the main page. I do, however, possess some information that I hope will be of use the community. This is why I sought you; you seem to have some manner of authority here, and you can definitely post on the main page.

I'm rather disturbed by something I find glaringly obvious that seems to have went rather unnoticed. The community is abuzz with news of TES V, and yet no one on the wiki or even its sources mention the number eleven. The game was announced on 12/11/10, eleven months before its release of 11/11/11. The number would not be so frequent without importance, and I urge you and all the community to research the lore for any importance of it. An arc number must mean something, and this is our chance both learn something of the game *and* do with reliable predictability. I will do my best to research as well.

In case you're curious about my presence, I'd like to take this time to tell you: I have scoured UESP for countless hours, learning great things about my beloved series. I first heard news of The Infernal City (which I have yet to read) through Game Informer, and, despite not being an official part of the community, I had unending pride in UESP's mention and praise. I never thought the Bethesda themselves or GI would notice a fan-made wiki, no less praise its community for their work and devotion. I must congratulate the community as a whole for its efforts.

I once had an account, though I have long forgotten both the name and password. Upon noticing that neither the UESP nor its sources said anything about the number eleven, I felt the need to stand and, I suppose, point out the obvious.

I hope to contribute further to this great community in the future. Thank you for reading this.

Sorry to disapoint, but I have next to no authority here ;). However I agree with Rpeh, 11/11/11 seems simply like a cool date to be released, it's catchy and memorable. Releasing it on 12/11 didn't seem like it was their choice, either, they couldn't change the date of the VGA. It's a nice theory but as of now it is just that; a theory. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 23:41, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

I contend a bit of validity in my theory--that Bethesda could have chosen to announce at any moment, but chose what they did. I believe they saw it as an opportunity, not a coincidence. I do, however, concede that there is no solid proof beyond my speculation. Not yet, anyway; I can't bring myself to think that the date was chosen just because it was cool.

12/11, eleven months before 11/11/11. I argue that if the number is mentioned five times, it must mean something...too bad that only time will tell, because I'm sure we all grow impatient.

On a side note, any idea why this wiki's sources mentioned nothing of the date? It's as if no one noticed significance. -ResidentPianist

MentorshipEdit

Hey Matt, I know you from the forums, and I wanted to start helping out on the Wiki, so I figured you'd be a good person to hook up with for mentoring, since I've never edited a Wiki before. Care to help me out?   Jpot Contributions 07:27, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Creating New Page ProblemEdit

Hey Matt

I'd didn't really know who to talk about this with, so I forgive me if i'm talking to the wrong person or posting in the wrong place.

When I tried to create a page this message was shown on the page.

"Permission error

You do not have permission to edit this page, for the following reason: The title "Skyrim:Dragon Shouts" has been banned from creation. It matches the following blacklist entry: .*Skyrim.*"

What does this mean?

Thanks, Anarax 06:56, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

At the moment, no page with the word "Skyrim" in the title can be created except by administrators. We don't want to fill up the wiki with speculative articles and pages with no real detail. rpeh •TCE 07:12, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

If I were to show proof that the page I wish to create is not rumour, and is something within Skyrim, could I create the page?

Anarax 08:16, 23 January 2011 (UTC) Anarax

Not exactly. You could get an admin to create the page then add your text to it, but the blacklist would still apply. Still, in that case it's mostly a semantic difference. Also, there's no need to add the text signature if you don't want to - the link is fine.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 21:43, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

FANFICTIOOONNNN!Edit

I noticed you used characters from Dragon Age: Origins. The City Elf Origin, and as you can see...so did I. :D Shianni 01:50, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Have you started on your new story? I have a few ideas. Shianni 01:53, 20 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey, Im jake and im pretty new to this site. I've been playing oblivion for agesssss, and i only just found out about mods just recently. Im 15 and ive been researching them, and i dont understand a lot of the guides. I think it would be awesome to create my own mods but im about to go back to school and i dont think i will have enough time for it. Anyways, the main things im looking for are: What tools would i need to create a mod? And what process would it be? Would it be time consuming? And how flexible can these mods be?, like how much detail could i put in the mods?

Thanks a lot man. Remember im still pretty newbie at this site so yeaa please just work with me haha (:

P.S. What does this do? -----> Poison apple 07:26, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Uhh....? Dude, this has nothing to do with my comment. Lol. Get off of my comment. Shianni 13:07, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Hi, and hi. Shianni: What story did you mean? I seemed to have written a lot. :) Jake: You need the Contruction Set, which unfortunatly, to the best of my knowledge, has been made unavailable due to the release of Skyrim. Making a good mod is very time consuming. You can put infinite detail into the mods but that would link back to the time-consuming part. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 17:01, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
Links to download the construction set and patches can still be found at the CS wiki. I assume you can also find them on Zenimax's site. Alpha Kenny Buddy 17:26, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
EDIT Mxk101 literally just fixed our link to it on our CS page while I was writing this. --Alpha Kenny Buddy 17:32, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

Awww...I thought you would remember, Matty! D: Shianni is the cousin of the guy in the beginning of the Dragon Age: Origins City Elf Origin. I truly did love Dragon Age. :D To put in shorter words, Shianni is the girl from the Alienage. Lol. Shianni 04:07, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

I did remember, I was referring to the fanfic in which you had some ideas for. (And that's wierd, a friend of mine calls me Matty, and that reminded me of her) :) --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 05:06, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm thinking of new ideas on my own, now. And putting ie's and y's at the end of names is a childish habit of mine. Lol. Shianni 05:09, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry man. I really dont understand this site and idk how i got my message on this thread haha. Poison apple 23:53, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Oblivion Script ExtenderEdit

I need help with this where do i put it at to make it work or where do i need to unzip at or place it for it to work????? --69.92.15.195 00:14, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

You just drop the entire folder into your Oblivion folder then activate the OBSE Loader. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 03:45, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

HelloEdit

Hi matt, Im jake and Im pretty new to this site. I tried sending you a different message but im not sure if it went through. Im contacting you because I have been playing oblivion for quite sometime now but i only just realised that you can create/download mods. I have downloaded the 3 house mods from the elder scroll website, (Deepscorn Hollow, Battlehorn Castle and Frostcrag tower) but the first thing i wanted to no was, have you ever encountered viruses with this downloading system? I also wanted to know just how complicated Mod-making is. I am 15 years old and i just play oblivion as a hobby, so would it be within my capabilities? And what tools would I need to create a mod? And if i could create one, how much detail could I put into it?

Like I said earlier, Im really new to mods. Can mods extend to be full quests? Or is it limited to a simple environment?

One more thing, im also a fan of fallout 3, and i was wondering if you could help me out with that as well? Thanks a lot man it means a lot to me. Poison apple 07:49, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

See the above replies in the FANFICTIOOONNNN! topic. You can trust official downloads like the ones at the Elder Scrolls site, they don't contain viruses. Depending on what you do, you do anything in a mod. See TESNexus.com, there are some great, huge mods out there.
I myself just got around to playing Fallout 3 about a week ago, so you probably know more about it than me. But feel free to ask. --Arch-Mage Matt Did I Do That? 16:21, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for posting on that other dudes post, I really have no idea how i did that haha. But ok thanks a lot, im on the " Elder Scrolls Construction" site and it says there is V 1.2 and V 1.0 available for download. It sounds really complicated, but i think i should give it a go just for some fun (: haha. Have you got any recommended mods for oblivion? Ok, I will remember this and if i ever need anything else il just ask. Thanks again Matt, Poison apple 00:02, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

MentorshipEdit

Hey! I was wondering if I could become your apprentice. I want to learn how to upload info and add new stuff to the news, it's very out-of-date.

Umm...I'm not involved with this, but I'm pretty sure you can't mess with the newsfeed, only Bureaucrats and probably Admin's. I don't know for sure. :| Shianni 00:21, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Nope it's only, the Main Page itself that's got full protection. And there aren't any Bureaucrats around here that I know of, only Admin's. Of course I don't know where the news page is...--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 00:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

I think he meant the main page, with all of the, "pretty" pictures. I wasn't sure if there was a news feed either. Shianni 00:27, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

[[1]] the place to propose news. It'll still have to be transcluded to the page by an Admin, but anyone can start a subpage there and propose it. Also, could you please indent your posts?--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 00:30, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but I thought it was only necessary to add the 4 tildes, What is Indentation? Shianni 00:33, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

It makes it easier to read. What you need to do is put these":" in front of your post.--Ghurhak gro-Demril or TAOYes? 00:35, 23 February 2011 (UTC)
Oh, I see. And Daveh and Nephele are the only Bureaucrats, they're both very inactive. Shianni 00:38, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Body Mods and Beauty PacksEdit

Well I will say that I definitely very recent to modding on oblivion. I Just recently got the game via steam and a computer that could run it easily. And I haven't had issues with other mods, but I seem to be having a problem with the body replacer mods I'm using and/the beauty packs. As for what I have, it's exnems FEC replacer, roberts male body replacer. the merged esp beautiful people and saya 4 hair pack.. and of course the data folders for said merged pack. now the issue I'm having is with the eyes. though it's not the goggly eye issue that seems to be just as common. The eyes have disappeared completely. other than that, I think I'd just need a little help with how to figure out my load order on what I have 173.28.200.59 09:13, 7 March 2011 (UTC)Suriko 09:09, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Hey! I have added headers to this LIST, detailing Userspace Patrollers, simply to keep track of the active/semi-active/in-active UPs, so if you could take a look at the list and make a decision. If you are active, do nothing; if you are semi-active, add that next to your name (example) – or, if you are inactive, please move your name to the appropriate section. Also, remember to update your status if your activity changes along the way. Thanks. Oh, and if you have any questions, please ask them on talk page, not here. --Krusty 13:20, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
