I'm a 32-year-old programmer from Germany. I love modding games and have been doing it since I started out on my first computer, a Commodore C=16.

Back then, I had to figure out where the games stored their level data and in what format. Nowadays, with games like Oblivion, where the developers have explicitly included mechanisms for expansion and modification, things are ever so much easier! Going so far as to provide prospective modders with the actual tools used to construct the gameworld makes Bethesda Softworks just about the coolest people in the world.

I've been playing Oblivion almost constantly since late November 2006, despite my low-end PC, and am still enthusiastic. I keep discovering new facets of gameplay, quite apart from the overwhelming wealth of material in the gameworld.

I'm working on two mods at this time:

  1. Leveled enchanting, which adjusts the strength of enchantments you are able to craft to your level and skill in mysticism.
  2. Grandmaster Alchemy Apparatus, which adds more powerful apparatus for alchemists. This still needs a nice quest to acquire them.
