I have been a member of this wiki since 2013, and have contributed a lot to it since.
Rules are made to be broken. People should ignore a rule if it prevents them from improving or maintaining the site, but sometimes this does more harm than good. No-one should be sanctioned for endeavouring to make the site better, especially before others have objected. However, people are expected to explain their actions if asked, and if they go against the norms without consensus, it is an issue. If someone makes a controversial edit, reverting it might be just as controversial.
I have expressed opinions in discussions on the wiki. My comments have led to, or partly led to, me receiving warnings and blocks. I am allowed to state my views in discussions. Why what could be considered discourteous (other adjectives) come to mind) by some in the community forming a basis for a warnable/bannable offence is beyond me, as I have only stated my thoughts and opinions in discussions and contributed. While some of my comments could be considered offensive, my comments are only as offensive as the reader makes them, plus etiquette is a grey area. Others are entitled to their beliefs, although I will not necessarily share their beliefs. I make this post in the belief that others are waiting for me to post comments that they take issue with, and then punish me for daring to state my opinions.
