Junior+ Server Admin (LAMP/PHP)Edit

We're looking for a full-time Server Admin for LAMP servers with some PHP development experience. The job position is listed as "Junior+" and the experience level is flexible along with the salary (up to a point that we can afford). • Job Title: (Junior+) Server Admin
• Type: Full Time / Permanent
• Location: Remote / Work-from-Home (we don't have an office location)
• Job Summary: The Unofficial Elder Scrolls pages is looking for a Server Admin with some experience with PHP/MySQL for our LAMP MediaWiki servers to help us with maintain all our wikis and PHP code that helps make UESP.net (and other wikis) the best fan site. • About Us: The UESP is the oldest (and best) Elder Scrolls fan site having started on the web way back in 1995 (27 years ago). Since 2012 we have been operating as a wiki using the MediaWiki software but have a large amount of custom code to modify the wiki to fit our purposes and for the other services we provide. We currently only have two full-time employees and are looking forward to finding another member of the team!
• Responsibilities and Duties: Your job will include (but not limited to):

• Maintain and improve the UESP LAMP server cluster.
• Maintain and improve existing UESP codebase (mainly PHP) related to server management.
• Document and improve the UESP server management, development and testing processes.
• Regular video meetings and Discord for collaboration (need to be comfortable speaking/writing English)

• Required Skills and Qualifications: Note: We don't expect candidates to have a lot of experience in all skills but you will be expected to learn and work with all of them at some point.

• LAMP Server Use and Administration
• PHP/MySQL Experience

• Useful Skills and Qualifications: None of the following skills are required but will definitely be useful.

• MediaWiki setup, usage and extension development
• Bash/Shell command line usage and scripting
• CentOS experience (unsure what we'll be using the future however)
• Git/GitHub
• Lua/Scribunto/Python/HTML/CSS/JavaScript
• WordPress usage and plugin development
• Any Elder Scrolls games
• UESP Wiki/Community familiarity

• Compensation:

• Salary: $50-100K CAD (depends on relevant experience level and location)

• Looking for an experienced ESO player and Build Editor user to help manage, test, and edit the editor data and rules.

Existing JobsEdit

The UESP currently employs the following people on a full or part time basis.

• Owner/Server Admin -- Dave Humphrey (Fulltime 2012 to Present)

• Dave manages the overall business and most of the server side administration and programming.

• Social Media Manager -- AKB (Fulltime 2018 to Present)

• AKB manages all the social media accounts and most of the Patreon campaign in addition to various data/content work on the wikis.

• Front End Developer -- ThalJ (Part Time 2019-2021, Fulltime 2021 to Present)

• ThalJ develops all the site apps and handles most of the front-end UI work on the wiki and other sites.

• YouTube Producer/Editor -- Lucien (Part Time 2023 to Present)

• Lucien is currently creating Youtube videos for our Starfield channel and may start doing Elder Scrolls videos as well in the future.
