Template talk:Huh

Huh? (Really)Edit

Why does (?) display on the template page? --JR (talk) 19:25, 22 November 2012 (GMT)

Why should it not? If there is no reason against it, it is good for templates to show how they will look like if used. --Alfwyn (talk) 19:30, 22 November 2012 (GMT)
I simply asked why it did. Now I know, though I'm not sure I understand what you intended to communicate by replying in such a way. --JR (talk) 19:54, 22 November 2012 (GMT)
Alfwyn: The above comment keeps coming up in my mind. I realized shortly after writing it that it was irrationally defensive. You may have interpreted my original "Why..." as a challenge or complaint. If you did, I can see why. Whether you did or didn't, I assumed that your reply was meant to criticize me for asking. It certainly does not need to be interpreted that way. I apologize for any pissiness in my tone. Atone for my tone. Onward together, I hope. We have a great project to keep building and improving. I'm with you.--JR (talk) 05:53, 28 November 2012 (GMT)

Template titleEdit

The title of this template seems a bit childish and immature. Template:UnknownInfo, Template:InfoCheck, Template:CheckInfo, or even Template:Unsure could be better suited as a name here. --NibKing (talk) 04:05, 26 June 2018 (UTC)

What's wrong with using one of the most universally recognised words to encompass a number of uses that basically meaning "this information is missing". Information that needs verified or checked is marked by the {{verification needed}} template. Using base terms is more helpful in collaborative work where the users come from a number of different countries. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:05, 26 June 2018 (UTC)
It also has the advantage of being short, which encourages people to use it more often when something's missing, and at the time it was created, Wikipedia had a template with the same name for at least similar purposes. Robin Hood  (talk) 06:51, 27 June 2018 (UTC)
