This template inserts a cross mark inline in the text or table. Alternative uses of this template are {{x}} and {{No}}.
You can also substitute the template to produce a hard-coded cross, rather than a templated one. This can be useful if you want to make sure the cross always looks the same, regardless of any template changes, or if you want to edit the cross in ways the template wasn't designed for, such as changing its size, link text, etc. It also marginally lightens the server load when you substitute.
