Tune of the Road
by Finn Geth
A poem about humming a tune as one travels along the road
The road stretches ever on,
And forever to it I am drawn.
Yet to keep my heavy lids awake,
A mere tune is all it takes.
No need for minstrels or bards,
A simple song needs nothing of these regards.
It takes nothing save a mouth to sing it with
All else is just a myth.
You can keep your lutes,
You can keep your guarskin drums.
The best companion on the road,
Is a simple tune to hum.
