::Yes, adjusting brightness/contrast is acceptable, and even encouraged. In-game screenshots often look way too dark when posted on the site. Morrowind and Oblivion screenshots are usually unusable without retouching, but with Skyrim your best bet is to wait until the ambient lighting changes.
