Skyrim talk:Tonilia

BugEdit

Hey, I sold my guild armor tto Tonilia early on in the questline, and now I can't interact with her. The page says there are no known fixes for the 360, anyone else had this problem, I can't have been the only person who sold that armor? — Unsigned comment by 50.90.10.108 (talk) at 21:20 on 5 December 2011

One possible way to get around this is to have killed Gulum-Ei in the Scoundrel's Folly questline before returning to Mercer Frey. Doing this forfeits your reward for the mission, which includes upgrading the armor. Although you lose Gulum-Ei as a fence, you are able to use Tonilia as a fence, and more importantly, be able to complete the final mission in the Thieves Guild questline, of which the final objective is to obtain the Guild Master's Armor from Tonilia.— Unsigned comment by 71.105.239.182 (talk) at 06:56 on 16 January 2012 (UTC)
An easy work around here is to head back to the cistern and go to the room with the 4 locked chests. In that room are a few pieces of guild armor you can take and trade to Tonila— Unsigned comment by 50.135.131.195 (talk) at 19:38 on 25 October 2014 (UTC)

Thieves Guild Armor upgrade after sellingEdit

Solved Tonilia armor upgrade problem when you have sold thieves guild armor and then return to Tonilia and get stuck in an endless conversation loop about not having the armor anymore. Open the console and type "player.additem 000d3ac3". This will give you the base thieves guild armor which you can then upgrade with Tonilia. ** I had also re-set the "taking care of business" quest prior to using the additem command, so if the additem command does not fix the problem by itself, open the console and type "resetquest tg01" then "setstage tg01 200" then "player.additem 000d3ac3" and go talk to Tonilia.

Or you could pick up any or all of the pieces of armor laying around in various places in the cistern, get more than an entire set of armor for free and not have to use a completely unnecessary console cheat. I usually forget bring any of the armor I was issued at the time for the upgrade so I just grab whatever strikes my fancy 98.150.205.91 16:24, 16 July 2012 (UTC)

How do you enter a console command on ps3?Edit

What exactly do you do to enter a console command on ps3? Everywhere else I read says you can't.— Unsigned comment by 76.113.98.216 (talk) at 23:08 on 6 January 2012‎ (UTC)

You can't. The page says there is no current fix for consoles. Wolok gro-Barok 10:15, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Interesting PricingEdit

I just noticed that Tonilia will sell me an Ebony Bow for 2000, but ... she also has an Ebony Bow with 25 Fire Damage that she's selling for 1300. More valuable item, 2/3 the price of the less valuable one. I don't know if this bug is unique to her or not, but I haven't ever seen it before on any other merchant, and she's (well, Fences in general are) enough of a special case that it might be unique to her/them. Details just in case: average (55) Speech, no perks of any kind, a 20% Haggle item, 3 Special Jobs done, 4th Special Job started but not completed. Aliana 21:55, 4 February 2012 (UTC)

It has nothing to do with Tonilia or fences. The base price of an Ebony Bow is 1440, but the base price of a Ebony Bow of the Blaze is 1052. So in any situation, the unenchanted bow will be 40% more expensive than the blaze version.
It's generally true of every enchanted Ebony Bow in the game. The internal raw price for all the enchanted ebony bows is 504 instead of 1440 for some reason -- the value of the enchantment is added on top of the 504, but most enchantments aren't expensive enough to result a final cost that's higher than 1440.
Although this isn't necessarily the right place for it, since I've got the data in front of me, other weapons that share this quirk are (in all cases the first price is the raw value of the unenchanted version, and the second price is the raw value of enchanted versions):
  • Daedric Bows: 2500 vs 875
  • Dwarven Bows: 270 vs 95
  • Elven Bows: 470 vs 165
  • Glass Bows: 820 vs 287
  • Glass Swords: 410 vs 205
  • Imperial Bows: 90 vs 32
  • Imperial Swords: 23 vs 50 (i.e., enchanted versions are more expensive than they should be)
  • Orcish Greatsword: 75 vs 150
Offhand, I'd guess that late in the development the values of all the unenchanted bows were shifted upwards significantly, but nobody ever copied the new higher values over to all of the enchanted versions. Anyone who wants to find a better place to put this info is free to copy it elsewhere. --NepheleTalk 08:44, 14 February 2012 (UTC)

Her ArmorEdit

where do I get the armor she's wearing?? I can't find anything about it anywhere. — Unsigned comment by Theindividual (talkcontribs) at 12:44 on 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Tonilia wears Thieves Guild Variant Armor and Thieves Guild Variant Boots, which, unfortunately, seem to be unplayable and therefore unobtainable. Sorry. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 12:50, 6 March 2012 (UTC)
Actually, during this quest, Linwe wears a set of armour which is almost identical in appearance to Tonillia's, and you can loot it from his body after you kill him. Kitkat TalkContribE-mail 18:32, 24 March 2012 (UTC)

Fidelity continuity errorEdit

Hey, I'm posting this here as Vekel the Man's page has no talk and this is more likely to be read.

On Vekel's page, the description of their argument says Tonilia 'makes no denials' of the affair, while this page says she denies it. I've not had it happen in my game, so can't edit it accurately. Which is the case? 174.114.196.213 01:30, 13 May 2012 (UTC)

I can see two conversations about it and both looks like she denies it.
Vekel - Hey, hey. Sorry. I just get jealous when I hear rumors about you.
Tonilia - How dare you! After all we've been through together? How can you do this to me!
Vekel - Look, I need to know. What's going on between you and Brynjolf?
Tonilia - That's all they are... rumors. So quit worrying.
Dirge - Hey Ton, you shouldn't cheat on Vekel. He's a good guy.
Tonilia - What are you talking about?
Dirge - Come on, everyone knows about you and Brynjolf.
Tonilia - Well, everyone's wrong. Now why don't you just shut up about it.

Tonilia item scaling bugEdit

So, Tonilia had always sold bows and daggers that scaled to my level (ebony and daedric around level 46), then at some point she reverted to selling iron/orcish items along with all the Ragged Flagon shopkeepers frpom a fully upgraded guild. Basically the items scaling bugged out. This happened for one of the following reasons as I see it: a) finishing the TG questline, b) installing Dawnguard (patch 1.8 was present before installation).

Is there a way through the console to fix this? — Unsigned comment by 94.154.212.77 (talk) at 21:33 on 8 December 2012‎

I was looking for an answer to this as well; Tonilia only sells iron/orc gear and weapons with an elven dagger/bow every now and then. Checked with my level 50+ characters and level 75+ as well, same problem. I believe it is related to the installation of Dawnguard as I just bought and installed Dawnguard (and Hearthfire) a week or two ago, and never noticed before. I play on Xbox 360 so if there is a solution, I'm hoping it isn't "console" related.

Can anyone else follow up to confirm or deny this bug?
--The G00D Job (talk) 21:37, 13 April 2013 (GMT)
(PS3 user) It's the same in my game. Tonilia no longer sells Daedric weapons. Pretty annoying, actually . . . and I also noticed the difference after the add-ons were loaded. MrC (talk) 02:29, 11 February 2014 (GMT)

Fence cheat / BugEdit

I've got this bug in TG when Brynjolf stuck with his 'hmm?' after Taking Care of Business quest and everybody in the Cistern turned hostile when my character entered it. Well, typical bug. As I had no earlier save, I just used a cheat to skip the 'Greet Mercer' part and go straight to business, and even started Meet the Family and The Litany of Larceny quests (family meeting didn't start itself, I guess it's because my skipping of few parts in previous quest) fearing that there might be problems in future. It all run well, though, my char got his armour, could talk to Vex over the unusual gem and give Delvin all the fancy stuff from the main quests. It went well but one thing - Tonilia has no dialogue, at least, the fence and guild services ones. She has her greeting part in Meet the Family, and trades parts of the guild equipment when it comes to Speaking With Silence (you can't ask her if there's anything different about new armour, though, so sht has only 'main' dialogue or something), but there's no possibility to start a dialogue and, as a result, use her shop. (same problem, btw, with starting Toying With The Dead - there's just no dialogue option for it)

I would have assumed it's the new patch (1.8.151.0.7), but I have another game saved with another character, and the whole Thieves Guild thing went quite well there. Besides, I have a possible explanation of the current bug: I actually managed to get into Goldenglow Eastate before Loud and Clear quest, in the beginning of the game (using horse, hopping and... well, to be honest, I just clipped through some rocks there). On the other had, I already had this problem before, in original (no-DLC)game, when no patches weren't even made.

Can anyone confirm having something like that? And is there a way to fix it using console?

Can't trade with ToniliaEdit

I completed "A Chance Arrangement" and received my armor from Tonilia, but the option to trade with her doesn't appear in the conversation window. Anyone know of a console command to fix this? — Unsigned comment by 75.138.8.228 (talk) at 03:45 on 17 April 2013 (UTC)

Ah, I figured it out. It turns out this mod: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10905 is no longer compatible with the Unofficial Patch (or Skyrim itself, the posts say it's the USKP) and will break all fences.
75.138.8.228 05:52, 18 April 2013 (GMT)
I can confirm this. Using the mod Merchants only reply with Take a Look while also using USKP can prevent all of the dialogue options for Tonilia, as well as the other fences.

Gold amount bug?Edit

So I went to her to sell a bunch of stuff to make some quick gold. I sold her a whole bunch of gems which came close to maxing out her gold, then remembered I had a bunch of jewelery that I'd rather sell her instead, since it's heavier. Rather than buy back the gems, I decided to reload the autosave from when I entered the Ragged Flagon (coming from the Ratway). When I went to sell her my jewelery instead, she only has 77 gold, instead of her full amount, which means I can hardly sell her anything. I have all my items back, since I reloaded, and have the paltry amount of gold I originally walked in with (ie. I didn't keep the gold she seems to be missing). I tried reloading from when I entered the Ratway, and the same thing happened. My only other save is way too far back for me to want to reload, so I guess I'll have to find my money elsewhere, but I thought this was a weird bug worth mentioning.
