In theory, all hirelings are supposed to be re-hirable for free within 24 hours of the first time you hired them. With the USKP disabled, I don't get this functionality at all with Stenvar, I just get the usual hire-for-500 dialogue. (Can a console player confirm that this is actually what happens?) With the USKP enabled the only thing I get is "Another time, perhaps". I can't find the cause of the problem, though, and Jenassa works fine regardless of the USKP. – Robin Hood  ^(talk) 20:29, 28 January 2015 (GMT)

After an intensive-but-fruitless search, I finally resorted to looking at the near-raw data in my database and spotted the problem immediately. Once that was fixed, Arthmoor spotted another nearly identical problem with Stenvar's next line of dialogue. He was just cursed.
