DamageEdit

Damage is 30? that can't be right. — Unsigned comment by 24.23.245.166 (talk)

Keep in mind that's the base damage, which may be different from what you see based on your skill/perks/etc. TheRealLurlock (talk) 05:02, 10 February 2013 (GMT)
According to the CK and cslist, base damage is 13. I've changed it to reflect this information. A perfectly understandable mistake, as this info was added by hand and not bot. --AKB Talk Cont Mail 05:10, 10 February 2013 (GMT)

MergeEdit

Soulrender and Bloodscythe are pretty much pointless without eachother. I'd like to propose merging them into a page called "Dragonborn:Bloodscythe and Soulrender". It would have two Artifact Summary's on it, and a picture showing both weapons. Bloodscythe and Soulrender would both then become redirects to this page. Before anyone brings up the slippery slope argument ("If we did this then why wouldn't you put all the Deathbrand/Ahzidal's/Miraak's items on one page?"), I'll offer a preemptive rebuttal which is that the other "grouped" items aren't as exclusively co-dependent as these are, each being useful in its own right, but these swords alone are essentially just unenchanted scimitars by themselves. They're clearly intended as a dual-wielding pair, unlike any other items in any of the games so far. TheRealLurlock (talk) 18:52, 17 February 2013 (GMT)

No, we should keep them separate. See Trueflame and Hopesfire for examples of paired artifacts with separate pages. They are separate artifacts. You could use them separately. If you HAD to use them together, than I would understand, but you don't have to. Jeancey (talk) 18:55, 17 February 2013 (GMT)
They are paired weapons, they don't produce an effect when paired together in combat as far as I see (as a Morrowind noob, can you even duel-wield?). There are the two unique weapons Eduj and Okin in Skyrim that need to be found together to progress the related quest. The only thing that comes close is Duskfang and Dawnfang, but they are "the same sword". I do though oppose the merge, as although they are separate weapons, clearly designed to be duel-wielded, they can be used apart. Silence is GoldenBreak the Silence 19:16, 17 February 2013 (GMT)
Yeah, Trueflame and Hopesfire are completely different since there's no dual-wielding. Even Eduj and Okin aren't the same since they're both useful weapons on their own. Bloodscythe and Soulrender are the only pair whose enchantments only work if they're used together. The Dawn/Duskfang pair is actually a perfect example of how this could be set up. I wouldn't propose merging on any other pair of weapons in any game, but these are clearly a pair (while they can be used separately, it defeats the entire purpose of having them). I just think it'd be useful to see their stats side-by-side, because that's how you're most likely to be using them. Currently, you have to click back and forth between the pages to compare. Even if we made a Dragonborn:Artifacts page and transcluded them, which we probably eventually will, they'd be listed alphabetically, and thus separated by a bunch of other weapons. Putting them on the same page (thus with a single entry on the hypothetical Artifacts page) ensures they'll stay next to each other for easy comparison. () I'm trying to expand Lore:Artifacts. I think these swords qualify, but I'd like a definitive answer on this before making anything. Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 08:53, 14 July 2013 (GMT)

I also think that these pages should be merged simply because they have no abilities without the other. --Ad intellige (talk) 01:02, 15 July 2013 (GMT)
As Jeancey said here in regards to our lore artifact pages, it makes sense to merge pages for artifacts which are only noteworthy for what they represent when combined. I don't see why it should be much different in the gamespace. In this instance, there's practically no reason for someone to look up one sword without also wanting information on the other. Merging them seems more helpful for readers. I think the only issue at this point is the naming. Is everyone okay with redirect to lore and dragonborn pages titled "Bloodscythe and Soulrender"? Are there any other proposals on the name? Minor EditsThreatsEvidence 04:18, 15 July 2013 (GMT)

On a weapon rack...Edit

While running the PS3 version, I've gotten Soulrender to stay in a weapon rack. Bloodscythe on the other hand still refused to stay put. 174.140.120.50 12:00, 24 February 2013 (GMT)
