Skyrim talk:Palace of the Kings

Unused roomsEdit

I was exploring the palace when I came across a number of rooms upstairs that no one ever slept in. I waited in one for 24 hours(not using the wait option but leaving my character standing there for 24 in game hours) and no one came into the room or used it at all. I can sleep in all of the beds, probably because I am a stormcloak and have just finished the rescue from fort neugrad quest. One of the rooms could be galmar stone fist's, he would be in the reach stormcloak camp at the moment. Can anyone explain the purpose of these rooms, for I intend to use one of them as a house or at least a place to sleep. Emzi43 16:45, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

They are most likely placeholders, possibly reserved for future DLC. — Unsigned comment by 24.109.248.215 (talk) at 22:24 on 16 May 2012
They are not. They are the Jarls from Stormcloak holds. The question is answered more fully over here. The Silencer has spokenTalk 22:01, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Housecarl for Brunwulf Free-WinterEdit

If Brunwulf takes over as Jarl, does he have a housecarl? I can't find any record of one, and I prefer not to have a blank space in the Court residents table. --Xyzzy Talk 06:12, 1 February 2014 (GMT)

I just played through the imperial side (again) and I can confirm after taking Windhelm no one replaces him. Maybe fill it with a "none"? AutoPilot (talk) 09:13, 1 February 2014 (GMT)

Nothing Else of Interest in the Jail. Except...Edit

In the far corner of the jail/sleeping room in the Barracks, there is a barrel that spawns a bottle of Nightshade Extract. Is this not noteworthy? I always wondered what that was for...I guess I thought it added a bit of color, as if there was maybe a guard planning an assassination attempt or some such. Every one of my dozen or so characters has gone at least once to pick that bottle up, many of them come round for it repeatedly, as it respawns with the cell. I am a collector of all oddities, and I count that bottle among them. :) Crayolamanic (talk) 19:53, 19 February 2017 (UTC)

Actually, it should be Lotus Extract, not Nightshade Ext(r)act. It looks like this was in some way supposed to be tied into Mourning Never Comes...perhaps a mini-quest to find the extract instead of Muiri giving it to you directly, like she does now. Robin Hood  (talk) 21:15, 19 February 2017 (UTC)
Yes, thank you - that's it. I wasn't looking right at it then, going off memory. Dangerous to do that here, I know. Anyway, a fun little trophy for the collectors among us. :) Crayolamanic (talk) 01:43, 20 February 2017 (UTC)
