ImmunitiesEdit

immune to fire magic, immune to ice magic, immune to lightning magic, immune to (tested) shouts -- 141.44.198.144 23:50, 17 November 2011 (UTC)

And an absolute **** to kill if you're pure mage... Especially as he heals — Unsigned comment by 86.42.250.232 (talk) at 18:45 on 26 November 2011
If he gets stuck somewhere as your Dead Thrall, you can try to resurrect him, them leave the glitched area and type "00045F8E moveto player" without quotes. You'll have to kill him again but he'll be out of the glitched area. — Unsigned comment by TheVirginsSon (talkcontribs) at 05:34 on 5 December 2011

resurrectingEdit

I want to make him a thrall but his body has long since been purged from the game. I resurrected him using the console, killed hi,. and make him a thrall but he doesnt seem to want to attack anything and just follows me around doing nothing. ive played around with his relationship rank but nothing seems to work. — Unsigned comment by 75.172.36.116 (talk) at 19:19 on 30 December 2011

As a thrall: not a perfect oneEdit

I've heard a lot about his abilities and thralled him. Yes, he uses his teleportation/healing spell and he is immune to magic. However, ther are several odds about him. First, he is moaning as a generic thrall. Second, he doesn't do much damage with his spells(ice and some lighting). So, he is actually more like mage-tank type follower and personally I prefer the spectral guy from the Barrow near Ivarstead (since no moaning and more DPS).--31.128.131.87 07:00, 28 February 2012 (UTC)

Where is the Immunity to magic coming from?Edit

Can anyone tell me where we're getting the belief that he is immune to elemental magic from? I've been through all of his faction, NPC and ability lists on CSList and there isn't a single thing that is giving him any resistances at all except the usual Bosmer racial traits. Can anyone actually confirm this as it seems all the notes about it above are from Anons. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 08:21, 14 November 2012 (GMT)

As a follow-up I've removed all mention of said immunities from the namespace until it can be confirmed via the Construction Kit. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 08:26, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
I'm not sure why you removed most of the text from the article, except the opening sentence. From reading your posts above, you are only referring to his said "immunities". I believe some of the info you removed are appropriate. I re-added them to the article and made some tweaks. And please be more careful and selective when removing content from articles, instead of simply removing chunks of text. Thanks! ~ Psylocke 12:48, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
He has the "Greater Ward" spell, and a Perk crReduceDamage05 which seems to half all attack damage. Apart from that I guess it would need actual testing ingame. --Alfwyn (talk) 13:19, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
Psylocke, the edit by Eydvar was correct. The death thrall note doesn’t belong on NPC pages (it's already here), nor does strategies on how to fight him. I was on IRC with Eydvar at the same time and encouraged the edit. Just mentioning this for good measure. --Krusty (talk) 14:07, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
Hey Krusty, and thanks for mentioning it. Just a side note: I do not use IRC and am cut off from all conversations happening there; so basically, I could only refer to Eydvar's posts above which only says he removed all mention of said immunities, and hence my comment above. However, feel free to change the article again, and I'm sorry for causing trouble. ~ Psylocke 14:41, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
No trouble whatsoever, Psy – and, until we can figure out what is going on with that weird resistance-to-spell thingy, I think we should keep the article in its current state. --Krusty (talk) 15:11, 14 November 2012 (GMT)
From what I see in CK, his teleportation ability (AbTeleportation) has an effect (AbTeleportationScriptEffect) that besides scripted teleportation also grants him magic resistance. Roger (talk) 01:24, 3 December 2012 (GMT)
Oh, good find. And the ability uses that effect with a magnitude of 100. Doing a bit of ingame testing, he indeed did take no damage from my spells (tried fire and lightning). --Alfwyn (talk) 01:40, 3 December 2012 (GMT)

() Further testing showed that this doesn't seem to give him complete immunity from magic, just a very good protection. Casting Blizzard with 100 destruction, I was able to remove a bit of health (6/625). --Alfwyn (talk) 15:17, 3 December 2012 (GMT)

No,I have tested that even you use Lightning Storm on him,a message will pop up:Orchendor is immune to Lighting Storm, and his health won't drop at all.--Lywzc (talk) 18:54, 5 May 2013 (GMT+08:00)
Still cannot find anything to suggest he is immune to magic. Only thing I can find even related is his Teleport ability makes him temporarily immune to ALL damage for like 5 seconds at either end of the script. But otherwise he's just got normal class/race abilities and spells. Only way he could be blocking magic outside of the teleport window is when he's casting his wards. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 19:59, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
As Roger stated above, the CK script for AbTeleportationScriptEffect has an associated magic resistance effect. The CSList entry doesn't show it, but lists the Teleportation effect as 100 points, meaning that any associated effects are also 100 points, giving Orchendor 100% magic resistance due to his Teleportation ability. This resistance can be reduced by weakness to magic effects, like potions, so in-game testing may show varying amounts of damage from spells if your character has something that reduces opponents' magic resistance. --Xyzzy Talk 21:05, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
Yes I get that part Xyzzy but my issue is that according to the CSlist and the script for the teleportation the immunity is only supposed to be a 5 second window around the activation of the teleport. Therefore he shouldn't be immune the rest of the time. Lord Eydvar Talk|Contribs 05:26, 11 October 2013 (GMT)
Can you explain where you are seeing the 5 second duration? Everything I see for the effect says that this ability is constant and has zero duration. --Xyzzy Talk 12:40, 11 October 2013 (GMT)

do I need the 'Spell' to enthrall?Edit

I am playing with a character who is currently at level 14 (I've not leveled up, my guess is that this char is somewhere around level +50 aprox.) so there are still many things not available like some spell tomes and quests -- yet. The question is, i managed to find a Dead Thrall Scroll somewhere in Soltsheim, and did the Peryite quest. When I defeated Orchendor, i tried to enthrall him but didn't worked, saying that he is "too powerful for Dead Thrall". Is this because of my own current level? Or because I used a scroll and not the spell per se? M05c0 (talk) 22:42, 19 April 2013 (GMT)

I'm not real familiar with the spell, but the Scrolls page says that the Scroll of Dead Thrall's effect strength is 15 points, which I believe means that it will only reanimate a creature up to level 15. --Xyzzy Talk 18:45, 1 May 2013 (GMT)
Yeah. The full spell will reanimate much more powerful creatures than the scroll. It's annoying that the scrolls aren't the same as the spells of the same name. --Morrolan (talk) 10:57, 22 May 2013 (GMT)

No SoulEdit

It appears Orchendor has no soul. Patch 1.9, PS3. The Black Star + Ebony Bow w/Fire Damage (that showed effect) and Soul Trap 10 Sec. 50% charges left. Could someone confirm and add to the main page if confirmed? Philbert (talk) 15:29, 15 June 2013 (GMT)

I believe he has a soul, but I know that he has 100% magic resistance, so he's probably resisting the Soul Trap effect. I tried trapping his soul with Bloodthorn and a Soul Trap spell and couldn't trap it. --Xyzzy Talk 19:18, 15 June 2013 (GMT)
Thanks - I added a NOTES section with this info. Philbert (talk) 21:28, 15 June 2013 (GMT)
I was able to capture his soul by using a weakness to magic poison. --Xyzzy Talk 13:56, 16 June 2013 (GMT)
Ah, there is a 85% magic resistance cap. I knew his immunity was too good to be true. He isn't immune to magic. Dragon Guard (talk) 21:02, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
His 100% resistance is scripted, therefore the 85% cap doesn't apply. He has 100% resistance to magic, which can then be lowered by weakness to magic. Maybe "immunity" is not the correct term to use here. --Xyzzy Talk 21:09, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

() Nothing of magic can effect him? Even on Novice difficulty? Dragon Guard (talk) 21:23, 4 August 2013 (GMT)

If you don't use some sort of weakness to magic effect, then yes, he will be immune. Difficulty level does not affect resistances. --Xyzzy Talk 21:31, 4 August 2013 (GMT)
Soul Tear shout and drain vitality shout are the only few pure magical attacks that can harm him. — Unsigned comment by 173.65.22.190 (talk) on 04:49 5 August 2013

Dead Thrall shouldn't work on himEdit

I've noticed that a lot of enemies retain their resistances when they die (i.e. casting Soul Trap on dead Dwarven Spheres). So technically, shouldn't his 100% Resist Magic make him immune to Dead Thrall? — Unsigned comment by 166.137.12.95 (talk) at 21:03 on 15 November 2016 (UTC)

My guess is since he is dead or not Reanimated, technically, his 100% Resist Magic should not be in effect making it possible to cast the Dead Thrall spell on him. — Unsigned comment by 73.166.187.209 (talk) at 18:48 on 18 August 2017 (UTC)

Orchendor as a Dead ThrallEdit

When Orchendor is a dead thrall and he has been weakened by enemy attacks, you should NOT try to heal him with Necromantic Healing or similar dead healing spell because he reacts as though he is being attacked and turns nasty toward his master going into full attack mode. He says one of the sayings about "stay away from me with that spell on you" when he is the only Dead Thrall that I have reanimated. He teleports, throws up upon me and uses sparks / lightening attacks against me. He barely put a dent in my modest amount of health either. I recalled this whole trouble from a prior play through and so knew when retesting it to do a quick save in case he again negatively reacted to his own healing. He did all of this while inside my Lakeview house. My followers were Serana prior to returning her to her home, and J'zargo. I did not wait for them to attack and kill him and reloaded my prior save. 198.91.176.251 00:36, 7 December 2019 (GMT)

I was healing him all the time in the way that you just warned not to do, but I had HUGE sneak skill and was in "hidden" mode. He turned aggressive, but could not find me while I was still healing him. After you finish healing him, it takes a few seconds of him looking for you and determining that he cannot find you, he turns back to peaceful, then you can come out of sneak mode and he won't attack, and he won't die as easily had you not healed him. 216.58.27.138 12:58, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
