Skyrim talk:Notched Pickaxe

Lost, then Found, and WhyEdit

Short version: Notched pickaxe gone. Restarted from previous save, notched pickaxe there. Wondered why. Diddled with the settings on visibility using console so I could look up and see the peak. Saved that, restarted a few times (okay, a lot of times), watching as I approached. Answer: Havok settling issue/bug. Watched it go flying and bouncing down the mountain - but, it's a rare thing, took a LOT of restarts before the bug happened again. If the axe is gone, well, the axe was flung by the Havok system and bounced off the peak instead of properly NOT being havok settled and just staying there stuck in the rock for you to pick up. Restart from an earlier save, and it will almost certainly (in my experience) be there. And man, once something that size gets flung by the Havok routine and falls off the mountain, it bounces a LONG way. I mean a LONG way. Haven't yet found it after it gets flung, but I'm pretty sure it ends up near the base of the mountain, somewhere. 174.28.191.93 07:10, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

"Named after Notch"Edit

Is a citation needed for "This pickaxe was named after the creator of Minecraft, "Notch"."? It seems WAY more likely that it's just called a "notched pickaxe" because it's a notched pickaxe - "notched" is just an appropriate adjective.
